As a current student at Palm Tree School, I felt the need to share my experience to offer a different point of view for families considering this school.
Lets start with something simplethe food. For about five dollars, the lunches are both filling and flavorful. Weve had a good variety throughout the year. Its clear the staff puts effort into offering meals that are both nutritious and appealing.
Academically, the school uses HMH materials, which Ive found to be clear, engaging, and aligned with real-world skills. When students fall behind, there are plenty of support systems in placeteachers offer office hours, tutoring is available, and staff genuinely check in to help you succeed. Its a place that believes in second chances and growth.
Communication with the administration has been smooth and responsive in my experience. Phone calls are answered promptly, and emails are returned with professionalism and care. Anytime my family had a question or needed help, we felt heard and respected.
Regarding programs like the writing club, it was clearly explained ahead of time that there was a fee. There was nothing hidden or misleading, and the value is well worth it.
Discipline here is fair and supportive. When students speak up, their voices are welcomednot punished. Ive seen school leaders go out of their way to listen and problem-solve with students. Theres a real sense of community and mutual respect. The staff is professional and friendly, and they treat both students and parents with kindness.
Uniform policies are enforced consistently, but they dont overshadow academics. In fact, having a clear dress code has made the environment feel more focused and equal. It helps students concentrate more on learning and less on peer pressure over clothes.
My experience has been one of personal growth, academic support, and encouragement. Ive built strong relationships, found great mentors, and developed confidence in who I am. This school truly prioritizes students' well-being, academic success, and overall development.
If youre looking for a school that challenges, supports, and uplifts your child, I would strongly recommend this one.

Best islamic school I have seen in a very long time, they take education and Islamic religion very seriously, all the teachers put extreme effort with all the kids all ages, I saw couple of reviews complaining about the Teachers professionalism and the school seriousness, And my personal experience was with my brother, came to school as a high school student straight from Egypt, his educational level from Egypt wouldve never put him in any College here in the U.S, the teachers made assignments with him, and they planned an advanced curriculum that made him a student in GMU now, and his SATs scores even surpassed the minimum requirements. So Im not sure how some reviews says otherwise about the school, unless of course of they were looking for an Easy school that doesnt take anything serious then yeah you should look somewhere else because this is an advanced system and will require work of course.
And about the teachers, they are the nicest ever, they never give up on any student, including my brother who needed sooooo much work to be in the same level as other U.S students who lived here their whole life, also they have a trait that I didnt see in any schools since I was a kid, which is they genuinely constantly wanna make sure every kid is fully understood the lessons and the home work, they give after school and weekend school for those who need extra work and extra help.
Jazakum Allah Khairan Palm Tree School for all the work and effort you put. And I wish all schools are like that.

The teachers themselves are bullies and not professional. They are not assimilated the the standard norms of western culture.

They keep looking on student behavior on school, and they have rules and guidebook to any unacceptable manners.
Posted: March 23, 2017
Yes they do support student with learning differences, and they encourage that too.
Posted: March 23, 2017
They have patrols in school, they arrange the events and helping the staff on arrival and departure of the student, and each month they changed the captain of the team to give each student the opportunity to be a team leader. That was just one example.

In term of developing strong character in student, as an academic parents I do believe the school is not compared to any other school on the area. They are good in developing students personality, and building their behavior too.

I want to begin by saying that the Palm Tree School has helped my children in so many ways. Firstly, when I first arrived to the states I enrolled my kids to this school, I never knew how advanced a school could be until my kids began at Palm Tree. I didn't realize how far behind they were in school. But Alhmdullah the school acted towards this problem quickly. My children were staying after school to get extra help so they could catch up to their classmates. I also want to include how nice and welcoming their staff and administration were to my wife and I when we first began enrolling. They were all so understanding of our situation and extended a helping hand with our children. I can't describe how thoughtful and kind they were. Any parent who has their children enrolled in this school would know. Sadly, we had to move back home and my son and daughter were crying when we left, until now they mention how badly they want us to move back to VA just so they could come back to this school. I am very blessed to have brought my kids here because now they are a year ahead academically than their classmates and peers. Jazakum Allah Khairn.

Best school in the NOVA/DC/MD area. I have never come across a school that is so committed to teaching their students about the correct mannerism of a Muslim. Not only that, I have witnessed time after time how hard and dedicated these teachers are with their students. My children currently are enrolled in the weekend school and after school program they offer. And my oh my when I say I have seen a TREMENDOUS difference. They are currently in a public school, but after enrolling them in the palm tree after school program they have jumped 1 grade level and are much more advanced than their peers. I will be enrolling them full time once this semester ends. Not only have they advanced academically but as well as their manners. They are much more obedient and respectful to their father and I. Now mind you, I saw this difference within 1 to 2 weeks after they started attending the after school program. Their registration process is very easy, you call and make an appointment, and meet with someone in the registrar office. The administration is treated me and my children so kindly, and had toys and snacks for my little one while I was enrolling my other 2. They treat you as a family and only want the best for their students. My son always tells me how the principle comes down and makes sure he understands what the teacher is teaching him. I am glad I enrolled them here because I was starting to worry about my soon to be adolescent son, who was developing a bit of an attitude. I owe this school my life because of how much they have taught my kids to grow academically and emotionally. They also have really great events for the school and invite the whole community to attend, it's super adorable.
