The Fusion philosophy is that all homework is to be completed at school. This works 95% of the time, and the ability to “leave it behind” at school was liberating.

There is some variation among the teachers but overall we had very good teachers.

The school takes a lot of time dealing with the kids as human beings. There are Friday courses all full time students take that deal with interpersonal relationships and problem-solving. These courses were a highlight of my child’s fusion these courses were highlight of my child’s Fusion experience.

Lori Lankford, the head of school, has a strong vision for the Alexandria campus and has built a excellent team. She is accessible and open to parents and students alike. She took a lot of time to learn about our exact needs and expectations and to find ways to fulfill them.

The centerpiece of the Fusion Academy program is the ability to tailor education to the individual. this was a big draw for us, and my child benefited from working with teachers who took time to observe what worked for her and skillfully adapted the curriculum accordingly.

My child had some unique challenges that made this school is superb fit for her. She was training and working as an actor — Essentially a full-time job in itself – – and also dealing with some academic and emotional challenges related to ADHD. Fusion helped her believe in herself and get back on track academically.
