Overall a great school and a great experience, especially within the Spokane area. The teachers are generally kind, care about the kids, knowledgable or even passionate about their subject areas, and genuinely want to see the students succeed. Some of the teachers seemed quite burned out though and a bit demotivated by some internal bureaucracy, but other than being a bit slow to update Power School or grade work in an appropriate amount of time, things hum along pretty nicely.

Great school, have had children here for years. We appreciate the staff and teachers for caring about our students and going the extra step to have a relationship as mentors and leaders for our children. Thanks Mead Staff and all of the parents who work hard to make this an incredible place for education. We appreciate it!

I normally dont leave reviews, but I feel other parents should be aware of my recent experience with Mead High School administration.
When I attempted to withdraw my son, I was told by Vice Principal Matt that I could not remove him from the school unless I disclosed my future education plans for him. I was also told there were additional papers that needed to be signed, which I have never been required to do when moving or withdrawing my children from schools in the past. He even offered to drive to my home to have me sign these documents, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and unnecessary.
In my experience, withdrawing a student has always been a straightforward process that could be handled with a simple phone call or written notice. This situation created confusion and added stress during what should have been a routine parental decision.
I hope Mead High School can improve communication with families and ensure parents clearly understand their rights and the withdrawal process.

I am a Mead alum and loved my experience here. High school still had its battles for me, but the school itself wasnt one. The community is overall caring and inclusive. Most of the teachers care more about their students well-beings than just academic performance. I wouldve wanted to know more details about options like running start. I participated in mostly AP courses and still liked how it all turned out. (No problems for me with bullying, but it has its cliques)

I know I'll get emails on anything important via email at work before my children. Have even made me aware.
Leadership shares information and loves the kids at Mead but the other side is you belong, work hard, go do great things and most important, get your head on a swivel. Take responsibility. It's up to you!
The kids must work for their grades and help is offered. The teachers are effective in teaching the kids, and the principal is great with the kids, I've watched him but he's also good st being a leader, setting expectations and expecting them to be met. This includes respect to yourself, others, safety and most important, graduating.

What I will say is that my kids go to school with some amazing kids. Some go better than others but all have a chance to ask for help, whether they get help from friends or the school the resources are there. Still it can be hard for kids sometimes but getting help is out there!

Making everyone feel a part of the school is one way to stomp out bullying. The teachers and the principal are big on caring for their students.

So far so good! My kids love Mead High School. I've had only good experiences so - so far it's been great! I feel welcomed, and has both my girls.

My girls both have homework regularly. There are homework friend network but the teachers are open to helping the kids. That's huge for me!

The teachers know their stuff here, my kids hAbd learned so many skills from science to compassion at school camp to making lasting friendships through color guard, dance and cheer.
I love one teacher who teacher children about politics, left and right but none of the kids have ever figured out what his personal beliefs are.
I love the advance classes and the passion the kids bring home from science experiments to The slogan "You Belong At Mead." I wish they had something like that out there for every kid! Find your passion and let's help you grow, I've seen so much growth from my girls being at Mead.
I always tell my husband that moving to the Mead school district was one of the best things we did for our kids.
I hear stories about the teachers, their adventures and knowledge on what they teach, and that's exactly what I want to hear!

My daughter went to camp through school. She came. bsvk and told me how lucky she was to have her dad and I as parents. Both daughters have volunteered in our community and learned to care for others, but more so to understand weakness, sadness, etc. and to inquiry. care and learn. I've watch my daughter's grow ateaf into young responsible woman.

Worst school ever. Immature, childish little brats. Horrible administration. Teachers don't care about their jobs. Nobody is gonna go anywhere in life going to mead. Reconsider your choice of a school.

When looking for a new home I purposely looked in the Mead School district. The schools offer tons of activities and work hard to make sure every child graduates and goes to college. It's just a given that you'll go to college when attending here. Mead take academics seriously to prepare you for tomorrow's world, and that starts from day one.

I am alumni of Mead and I loved it. Teachers really care about their students and want kids to succeed. I felt very prepared coming into college. Also, there is a lot to get involved with at Mead. Definitely a high quality school.

Mead High School has the greatest mix of academics and sports, drama and arts to fulfill any student's wish list. Having moved here from CA. last year, my now 10th grade student settled in easily and nicely. All the students are nice and there are lots of clubs and sports to get involved in. Being ranked high on the list of top schools in the state and the nation doesn't hurt your resume either! Mead is a school where if you give it your best.....everyone succeeds! We love Mead.

As good as high schools get in Spokane, and that says much. Mead High has a very dedicated principal and staff, a creative approach to teaching, and strong performance metrics to show for it. Our kids have been very happy, and considerably more challenged than they were in their Seattle schools. Technology resources are strong. The school has an amazingly dedicated, supportive community. We're happy we came here.
