My children currently attend Southside and we have only had wonderful experiences. The principal is incredibly kind and the entire staff is so helpful. We feel incredibly welcomed and included in our children's education. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

I have been a student at southside for 10 years and I have been in the community since I was a baby and I can’t imagine a better school. We have a great principal and admin and teachers that are always there for each other and there students. I love this school because they are very very safe, I’ve never felt unsafe at school and I’m always looking forward to going to school surrounded by people who love and care for me. If I’m ever having a bad day I can talk to the principal, office administrator and school nurse and they will always take care of me if I’m struggling or going through something. Another thing I love is the middle school leadership activities including teaching a bible study to small groups once a month, and helping preschoolers with science. The teachers will make sure we understand what there teaching us and very much care about us like we’re there own kids. I love the electives we have, I love singing and preforming with my friends or baking and learning new skills with them. If your someone who struggles they will help you and care you so much. I truly can’t express how good of a school this is! This is truly the best school ever and it is not a school anymore it’s and extension of our family

I have gone to southside for 2 years and I did not think it to be possible for a school to be so displeasing and unprofessional. Firstly the currant principal has no administrative training which is evident in her lack of leadership skills. She also does not know how to run the pre school she takes control and leads them onto dismay. The teachers there are educated at least the ones the ones form 1-8. When there is a lack of subs that will bring in unqualified ones. Next thou that class sizes are small 7th and 8th are not separated unless it is math there is also no social strides for those two grades other than a ten min video from a religious news cast which is topically not up to dated with currant events. The school also does no supply middle school students with proper text books. The only text book that was supplied was one for science and it was no utilized the book was also religiously influenced for ELA the substitute for text books are scope magazines and science a slide show that is at a 5th grade level. The tower is where schoolers are housed has no Air conditioning and no control over the climate in the rooms because it is dictated by the church whom the school is renting the building from. The school also is very dismissive when it comes to safty.

My daughter has been at Southside for 4 years and I am extremely happy.
Having a child with some special needs, the staff have gone above to help her.

Hoping we will get to go into high school by the time my child gets there.

My children have attended Southside Christian School for the past seven years, and it has been a blessing for our family. We've walked through seasons of change, and this current chapter with new leadership is a welcoming change and breath of fresh air.

The new principal brings integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to students, staff, and families. While holding people to higher standards isn't always easy, it's necessary—and it's already making a noticeable, positive difference in the culture of our school.

The staff truly cares about every student--not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually. Teachers are supported, expectations are clear, and the focus is back where it should be: on Christ-centered education, community, and excellence. My kids feel known, challenged, and loved there.

We're proud to be part of a community that values truth, grace, and excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend Southside Christian School!

I have had my children and grandchildren attend Southside over the course of two decades. I still have one grandchild attending. In the two plus decades of my experience with Southside, I have found this school to be welcoming, loving and nurturing to my children, grandchildren and their friends and families. Administration has changed as these things normally do, but through the three Princials that I have encountered, the heart and soul of this school remains as strong as the first day I walked through those doors. This is clearly Gods school as evidenced by the caring, loving staff that He has put in place. From academics to extracurricular activities to the social connections, this school provides a firm base for it’s students and families.

Our family has been going to this school since 2007, when our oldest started Kindergarten. Our youngest is currently in 4th grade. We love this school. The teachers genuinely love and care for their students. The teachers work hard to teach to the whole child. The principal is a strong leader and very involved in the day to day and is a huge support to the teachers. I have always felt that Southside is an extension of our family.

Southside Christian School has become a glaring example of how poor leadership and broken communication can erode the foundation of what should be a thriving educational institution. What was once envisioned as a Christ-centered environment for learning and growth has devolved into a place marred by dysfunction, mistrust, and alarming negligence.
The root of the problem lies in the school’s leadership—or more accurately, the staggering lack thereof. The principal and board members have consistently failed to demonstrate even the most basic tenets of effective governance. Their approach is authoritarian, dismissive, and alarmingly disconnected from the needs of the students and concerns of the parents. Rather than fostering a collaborative environment, they have created a toxic atmosphere in which parent voices are silenced, concerns are swept under the rug, and accountability is nonexistent.
The relationship between administration and families is, at best, strained. At worst, it is openly hostile. Parents who attempt to engage in meaningful dialogue are met with cold indifference or passive-aggressive resistance. Constructive criticism is treated as a threat, and transparency is virtually nonexistent. Decisions are made behind closed doors without consultation or explanation, leaving parents in the dark and students to deal with the consequences.
Educationally, the school offers a bare-minimum experience that fails to inspire or prepare students for the real world. Opportunities for academic advancement, extracurricular enrichment, or meaningful engagement are sorely lacking. The curriculum feels stagnant, outdated, and out of step with the needs of today’s learners. Talented educators are often overworked, undervalued, and stifled by the very leadership that should be empowering them.
In short, Southside Christian School is failing its students, its families, and its mission. Until there is a dramatic overhaul of leadership, a commitment to transparency, and a renewed focus on genuine educational excellence and student safety, parents would do well to look elsewhere for a school that actually practices what it preaches.

Southside is a wonderful school and community. My kids have been there for 9+ years and cannot imagine a better community for my two boys. The teachers and admin are amazing. They have molded my kids into Christ centered young adults. I’m so appreciative for all the care they have shown. What a great school!!!

Our family has 3 kids at Southside and this is our fourth school year there. It is a wholesome, safe place for your kids to attend. We haven't experienced any social pressure or meanness in any of my kids grades. From a parent's perspective it is a place where you can insulate your kids from some of the less good things out there and let them continue to be kids.

We've experienced teachers and admin who go above and beyond and genuinely care about all their students. Your family definitely won't just be a number to this school, you'll be recognized and greeted and we've found this school happy to discuss and work with you if needed. I've seen students be accomodated for working up in subjects or teachers being flexible and creative if a student has a different learning need.

It is a Christian school, but welcomes all and doesn't require a signed statement of faith or church membership. Definitely worth taking a tour and checking out.

My son has been going to Southside Christian School since Kindergarten. He is in the fifth grade and growing and thriving in beautiful ways. The loving approach to their students and faith-based education truly fosters an environment for growth and confidence. I'm so happy we made this choice back then. I love that we are in a safe place where we don't have to worry about political agendas and ideas put upon our small children. They are being raised with love respect and kindness and it feels so good to watch them grow.

Southside Christian is a school that goes above and beyond with curriculum, staff, and care for the students. The love and care that my daughter receives each day is amazing! She loves learning, going to school, and her walk with the Lord. I researched many schools before enrolling her in SCS. I haven't had one regret! SCS is more than a school-it's family!

Our children have been at SCS from preschool-5th grade, thus far. As parents, we were impressed with the education provided. One of the highlights of this school is the Barely 5's program that targets children with summer/fall birthdays. Our child, birthday early Sept., could've been the youngest in her class, but we decided to send her to B5's class. She got an extra year of schooling before kindergarten and benefited so much! She is now in 3rd grade, a leader, excelling academically, and a confident child. Having been a military family before, this was the perfect school for our children to integrate into. They were/are loved, cherished, & valued for the individuals they are. The staff, in its entirety, are amazing. They go above & beyond for the children & the parents. I have never been so blessed by any group of people as I have been by them. The principal works with us on all levels. She takes time to hear all of our questions and works with us financially so our children can continue attending. Our children love learning in a Christian setting and are challenged to grow in their faith, as well. They both attended public school for a year due to a military move and both experienced stark differences. Both children missed praying openly, chapel, and being able to talk about Christ. I love the integration of education and Christian values both have experienced at SCS.

We love SCS! We've had our kids here in both elementary and middle school grades, and it's been a great fit! The teachers are so kind and continually work to creatively challenge each student to reach their full potential. The administrator and board are wonderful - they clearly have a passion for the school and each student. SCS is an incredible investment in our kids!

My husband is a university philosophy professor and I am a nonprofit consultant, so our educational and organizational expectations are high. Even still, we find Southside Christian School perfect for what we are looking for. 1) They take a "Love & Logic" approach, showing students that their decisions have natural consequences. Check out "Love & Logic." 2) The teachers are well-educated on the intellectual and social value of play and therefore allow time for play learning as well as other more academic subjects. 3) They use "Handwriting without Tears" curriculum for teaching preschoolers and early writers to write in age-appropriate stages. Check out HWT. 4) The teachers are incredibly kind, gentle, but consistent enough that my children respect them and obey them. 5) They teach the Bible in easy to understand lessons and make a wonderful springboard for our dinner table conversations about the flood, Jesus' birth, his death, etc. Like any educational institution, it is necessary for parents to explore and reinforce learning concepts at home. I love the way we are involved in and reinforced by lessons surrounding these important biblical concepts.

My son has been at Southside from P-6th gr. The teachers are great to work with and the environment, esp grades P-6, is exceptional. Their English curriculum is absolutely incredible. My son not only learned at a higher academic level, but has also developed into an incredible young man morally & ethically due to the school's teaching. I highly recommend this school for kids in P-6. The only difficult part has been the lack of space.
