It's one of the main tourist trap locations in Southern California, but for good reason. It's very kid friendly and the park is designed very well. The staff members are really friendly and the environment is centered on families. The organization seems to use every attraction to further ocean conservation and rescuing sick ocean animals. It's really an awesome experience seeing all the sea life everywhere while feeling the cool sea breeze blowing off Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean mere yards away. Definitely one of the busiest tourist destinations but is well worth the time and money to experience, especially if you can avoid the weekend crowds. Tickets are expensive... usually $70+ per person (kids' ones are discounted though), but check your local military base ticketing and recreation office since most have some agreement to get much cheaper tickets.
