Beale Air Force Base Housing and Information:

Location:  Beale AFB is located in Yuba County, 16 miles from Marysville, California and approximately 20 miles from Yuba City, California.  Located approximately 50 miles north of Sacramento, the California state capitol, Beale is 140 miles east of the culturally rich San Francisco Bay Area. Beale AFB is surrounded by rice fields and grazing land.

Child Development Centers: Beale’s state of the art Child Development Center provides accommodations for 304 children. The Family Child Care program for in-home day care offers professional and safe care in a home environment. Family Child Care is available for drop-ins, part-time and full-time care.

Schools: Your zip code determines which school district your child will attend, however, you may apply for an inter-district transfer in order for your child to attend a different school. Beale has an elementary school on the installation which covers grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade, and offers a wide variety of educational and recreational programs. The school is safe and performs well academically. Children off base in several small communities also attend the on base school. The school, located in the main housing area, is within walking distance for most base residents and is also within walking distance of the base Child Development Center and Youth Center.

A State-funded preschool program is offered through the elementary schools as well as an after school program for students who attend on base school. Older children residing on base, grades 6-12, will attend Bear River Middle School (Grades 6-8) or Wheatland High School (Grades 9-12). Both Bear River and Wheatland are located off base in the community of Wheatland and are part of the Wheatland Independent School District.

Housing: Beale's Military Family Housing currently contains less than 500 single and duplex units nestled at the base of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's, approximately 8 miles from the flight line and away from the noise associated with flying operations. A number of playgrounds are located throughout the housing area. Lone Tree School, located on base is for K-5 grade. Single E1 through E4 airmen are housed in the dormitories.
