I cannot say enough about this school. We are military, and had the good fortune of being staying put for 4 years, so between our two kids, we have experienced a wide range of teachers and services at this school. Aside from a few minor speed bumps along the way (understandable, and nothing too major), this experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The kids at this school have access to an incredible range of field trips and breadth experiences (i.e., ice skating and skiing in gym class!) that I wish every child could have. Not to mention all the incredible events the school offers like Harvest Festival, the Holiday Bazaar, Field Day, and Skate Night to name a few. Ravenwood is more than just a school; it's a community. Not everyone is perfect, but I believe everyone shows up each day committed to doing their best for the kids. I want to give special credit to the incredible SPED team at this school, who truly work miracles. I have also volunteered with the PTSO and found it to be a really rewarding and enjoyable experience....highly recommend getting involved in this incredible community if you have the time!

As a military family, we never know what to expect from the schools we attend when we get to a new place. Ravenwood is one of the best there is! We have experienced four of the six grades at Ravenwood among our kids and every single teacher we've met has exceeded expectations. We have one child who needs extra help and they have gone above expectations to make sure our child's needs are met. The office staff is both supportive and helpful. What a true blessing it has been for our kids to attend this wonderful school! We highly recommend moving out to Eagle River for Ravenwood to other military families.

Many of the teachers at this school are not kind or supportive, and most take part in gossiping about coworkers, parents, and even students. I briefly worked at this school and observed the upsetting behavior firsthand.

Teachers have stated that they do not believe in positive reinforcement, have called students with anxiety “crybabies,” and have spoken poorly of one another. None of this behavior is conducive to an effective or supportive learning environment for students. In second grade, one teacher’s classroom management technique is simply raising her voice and getting angry and mean. Other teachers have ignored students’ behavioral needs and prevented them from getting proper diagnoses of ADHD in order to get the support they need.

It is appalling the behavior that teachers get away with at this school.
