This school is a certified International Bacceloreat school. IB classes are equal to or better than AP classes. Many students who participate in the IB program get into competitive colleges. Trade programs are also here and students from all tracks are able to take classes in all tracks. Art, musoc, drama and individualism are also honored here. Teachers have logevity at Palmer High and love their school and all the kids.

Mr. Henry is the best teacher in this school, by far. Would highly recommend his classes if you decide to come to palmer high.

The Principle and the Assistance Principles, Teachers, and staff are all well trained on how to watch for and handle Bullying.

It was excellent! Our Daughter Graduated Summa Claude, with a I.B. Diploma in 2019. She was also in NHS, Student Government, Help teach QPR classes. Going to Colby College, starting as a Sophomore. PHS Graduating Class of 2019 received over Seven Million in Scholarships/Grants.

PHS is an International Baccalaureate (I.B.) School. Students in I.B. classes receive can College Credit both in the USA and in other Countries. All Students are encourage to take at least one I.B. course. The I.B. Program has a Diploma Program that requires the I.B. Diploma Students to write an Extended Essay (EE) there senior Year. The EE is sent to a different I.B. High School usually in a different Country. The I.B. Students that are getting the I.B. Diploma, have to write essays for every I.B. class that they take. Then the I.B. Diploma Students have to take I.B. Test in all I.B. classes that is graded by the I.B. Program. This is in addition to there final exams in there I.B. Classes.

Very positive experience with Palmer High School. Both the teachers and counselers are truly involved with student development and excellence. Tons of opportunity for student involvement in activities and athletics, as well as the International Baccalaureate program (I belive its the only one in Alaska). The school also maintains a very positive student and family culture, without some of the issues/probems of bigger schools. Have not seen any evidence of bullying or "worldly" activites from the student body. Most of the students I have interacted with seem very grounded and down to Earth. I would recommend Palmer High School to anyone PCSing or moving to the area.
