This school is a joke. My child went here for 7th grade and I am know homeschooling him. My child's glasses where stolen last year while he was at school. There was witnesses who saw kids playing with my child's glasses. I had to call the police and file a police report for the principal to finally admit she heard kids' where playing with my child's glasses but that she couldn't do anything about it. My kid went a whole week missing school because everytime I called and asked what can be done because he doesn't have his glass and he can not read without them and I was told there was nothing they could do. So I kept him home for a week. I called everyday to try to talk to the principal and she was always to busy. It wasn't until I filed a police report the following week she even called me.
Finally, I get replacement glasses and he goes back to school just to be given a lunch detention because was supposedly late to school on the day my husband went in with him to the front office about his missing glasses. They marked him as tardy, and gave him a lunch detention without talking too either of his parents first. I do not recommend this school or any school in this district. They are nothing but your child's first bully. Its disgusting.

The teachers are all rude and students are always bullying or something along the lines of picking on someone. As a current student, teachers are unprofessional and rush through the assignments and leave no room to actually do something fun, they teach so fast that students who are slower don't understand the assignment, and end up failing the class and getting in trouble. The phone policy here now is out of hand, I understand not being able to use the phones in class but during our lunch break or passing period? We get them taken even during lunch if our parent/guardian has sent us a message. They say that our parents should know not to text us and to call the school but the school administration does NOT need to know our personal issues and things going on that only the family should know. The teachers here are not trying their hardest to teach, they just discipline children who have no clue what to do after the teacher rushed through the assignment. The teachers here do not make the assignments fun whatsoever, they make it seem like they hate their jobs and don't actually make lessons and assignments fun, they don't get engaged, they just say things and somehow we are supposed to know how to do it a lot of the time. The teachers who do the assignments too slow, keep the classes behind on their work which can be frustrating to students who just wanna get their work done. Not recommended, I can't wait to leave this school and go to High School.

It is not a good school the students bully kids on the daily. They also hire teachers that threaten kids.

This school is trash. As a current student, It feels more like a prison, There is extreme discrimination for people of the lgbtqia+ from both teachers and student

There's a fight once a month, the teachers aren't equipped to teach proficient students, and they aren't well equipped to teach slower students. Vaping is prevalent. The computer labs are older than most of the students there, and none of the teachers know how to use them. The lockers are almost always stuck or falling apart. It had no fun activities, most of them time the teacher asked us to buy them materials because "They weren't being paid enough to buy trash" It wasn't a fun experience.

I have always dreaded when my children would get old enough to attend this school. It has been bad for many many years. Terrible teachers and staff. They are rude to the students and parents. This school is run like a juvenile detention center and not a learning institution. There is no inspiration only discipline at this school. Good luck if you have a child who needs motivation as this is a school they will surely fail. The teachers blame the parents instead of taking responsibility for their own students academic failures, albeit they are quick to take the credit if "I" have worked hard with my child and THEN he/she does well. What a joke. You are better off homeschooling your children if they need any sort of help as this school does not offer any. I will be giving 5 stars for parent involvement because that is what is needed for any student to pass this school.

Horrible for kids with learning disabilities.... total lack of being proactive on the part of at least 2/3 of the teachers I have dealt with. They wait until after the 100th day (to get funding for the student for the next year) to threaten to hold the students back. Basically forcing the parent to withdraw the disabled kids and put them into charter schools. Which has a net effect of making their Spring AIMS test results much higher.... go figure. Teachers that consistently allow students to not turn in work at all. No parent contact on individual students. Lying about emails that were never sent, failure to pick up a phone and call parents after weeks of not getting work. Blaming the kids for their own lack of engaging lesson plans and failure to manage their students. This school is horrible. Absolutely positively horrible for kids with learning disabilities. So much for no child left behind, and so much for special education. God Bless America.

I put a teacher in her place for being rude now i am being harassed by cps and the school. My son is disabled and he is being picked on by the teachers.
