Horrible experience. No academic experience. My child dreaded attending due to high paced teaching filled with packets of homework and daily tests. My child got suspended for opening a book during a test. Pulled him out the following day.

Unfortunately, this school has gone downhill in the past year. The leadership of this school no longer cares about the students.
It's sad to see.
From day 1 my kids were bullied, and little was done to address the issues. Most of this continued in various circumstances, and we were always shrugged off or told that it was our child's fault.
The level of professionalism from the front office staff, Leadership, and Church Leadership is ridiculous. I don't even know how or why they call themselves a Christian school. We won't be returning.

I have never met such an amazing group of professionals in my life. I have been homeschooling my kids for over 3 years and made the leap of faith to put them in private school and I am so grateful and thankful I did. By far the kindest and most knowledgeable group of individuals ever. They treat my children with respect while also showing them sincere love towards them. My kids come home every day with a smile on their faces, excited for another day there at Southwestern Christian School. SWCS is very academically driven and as a parent, we admire that. It helps that the teachers know what they are doing and teach it well, so that the kids are able to keep up and continue to progress. We see a long future with this school. We are so thankful.

After having my children in public school, southwestern Christian was the best choice we have made for them! Love love this school!

EXCELLENT! I have two kids at SWCS and they are consistently thriving. I was very impressed with the school from
the very beginning, we received a warm, caring and friendly welcome. I cannot say enough great things about this school. I love that it is small therefore making it easier to connect with teachers, students and other parents. My kids are happy to be attending SWCS and I will not consider moving them until they graduate from there. TOTALLY recommend!

My daughter struggles with attention span and is easily distracted. The staff are Accommodating to her needs and meet to discuss any plans for understanding her special needs.

ItÂ’s been a great experience. My daughter is close to God and has a love for learning now. She even wants to be a teacher when she grows up!

I have three children attending SWCS in grades K,2, and 7th so I feel like I know the school pretty well for multiple grades. My kids are loved and challenged every day. They are taught not only the general subjects but about Jesus in every class! They are thriving in so many ways! Mrs. Stewart makes a point to greet them each morning and pray with them through struggles/ challenges. The teachers all communicate so well with me and the office staff worked so hard to assist me in the whole scholarship process. My family has been blessed these past two years!

Our kids are new at this school and we have had a great experience so far with the staff and teachers. My kids are loved there and they feel loved. I feel that they are finally receiving a great education compared to the public school they had attended. We look forward to the years to come at this great school.

We have 2 children attending SWCS. We are very pleased that they get a traditional education and aren't exposed to the nonsense that is taught in the public school system. They are thriving and love going here. A plus, is that they get a solid biblical foundation. We believe this be very helpful once they start attending secular schools, if that is the only option. Super school!! Would recommend to anyone.

I've had my three children in this school for the past three years. If I could stay in Yuma I would continue their education with SWCS. This school has been a positive experience for my children and have received a quality education. After our time here and seeing children thrive in a private school setting, we have decided to continue investing in their education by keeping them in private school. We wish we didn't have to move or we would stay. The staff is amazing and they each truly love your children. its been a blessing attending here.

I've had one daughter in this school for 5 years; can't put into words what this school has meant to my family. I have the ultimate trust that this school has equipped my daughter with skills and abilities to succeed anywhere even at a young age, all while embracing God! I'm sending my second child there begging next year for the same experience and results. It has been a sacrifice to do so, but through Christ we will be able to send both my girls. If you are looking for a school that has it together, this is it.

My children have attended SWCS and I am proud of how well it prepared them for their academic careers in high school and beyond. Not only are they well educated, they are well versed in the love and knowledge of God so they can be strong in their faith as they enter young adulthood.
It is great to know they have a solid foundation in their education, faith and a good set of Christian friends as they enter high school. This school is a great choice for anyone who wants their child to hold a traditional Biblical worldview.

Overall the teaching staff is excellent. Nobody's perfect; some teachers excel in some areas and are not very proficient in others. Overall if your student is able to attend SWCS for all their elementary years and middle school they will receive a very well balanced education.

I am not a huge proponent of homework. I feel that as adults we work 8 hours per day, and that should suffice for students as well. So anything more than 2 hours of homework after spending 6 hours in the classroom to me seems excessive. It is nice to have time in the evenings for family time without having to worry that our kids have hours and hours of homework to do before bed.
My kids never seem to exceed a couple hours of homework, and their standardized test scores are always in the 90th percentile so... seems like the balance of homework to in class instruction seems about right.

This school encourages students to emulate the example of Christ in all areas of their lives, which builds in them a strong moral core of honesty, compassion, charity and love.

My children started attending this school about halfway through their elementary school years. I can't express how pleased we were with the experience. As they moved into high school, they were able to take honors classes, and were more than prepared in all of their core classes. I would highly recommend Southwestern Christian School to anyone looking to place their students in a highly academic, Christian environment.

Horrible school in Yuma ....BEWARE!!!!don't enroll your child in here. I am very displeased about this school. Although the parent involvement community has been good. There needs to be change in administration. The principal talks down to parents and to students. She is arrogant and likes to intimidate parents, students and staff. There are a few teachers and parents who feel entitled and are very "cliquish".. If you are not park of their click...your child will be treated unfair....this school removes bad ratings....do your research before enrolling your child here

This is an wxcellent school. The teachers genuinely care for the children and strive for excellence in academics and spiritual growth. The office staff is by far the best I've ever encountered. I would agree with another parent who commented about the tolerance for "clique behavior" , I think the school needs to address this issue. Overall this is a wonderfull school and I would (and do) highly recommend it.

This is far and away the best Christian school my Children have ever attended, with administration, teachers, and staff that reflect Christ-like charachter and consistant professionalism. Southwestern Christian School is a place of Christ centered academic excellence. Many non-white students are enrolled and dearly loved, along with their families. My children are not white and we are very impressed at the fairness here. I think it likely that the very negative review was an error, maybe another school(?) SWCS is an honest, open school that walks its talk, with over 200 very happy - and diverse - Christian families!

I have 2 children enrolled in Southwestern Christian School, I feel blessed that we are able to give our children the very best. I would not consided another school. Any school that your children attend can have difficult moments, the true test is how they are addressed. SWCS principle and staff have proven to me why this school is where my children and my family belong.

My daughter has attended SWCS since kindergarten, and she will be in sixth grade soon. I cannot imagine sending her anywhere else. She not only receives a great education at SWCS but her love toward the Lord grows stronger each week, which is due to the dedicated Christian educators employed at the school.

As a former public and private school educator and the parent of three children, I give Southwestern Christian School my highest endorsement. The curriculum is challenging, the teachers are top-notch and the administration and staff are actively engaged with our children every day. The class sizes can't be beat, ensuring that my children have sufficient one-on-one time with their teachers. The general atmosphere of the school is one of support and family. The facility is new, clean and well-equipped. The teachers care as much about the children as individuals as they do about the academic portion of their development. Equally important as the challenging academic program, Southwestern is committed to the spiritual growth of its students. Making Jesus Christ a daily, vital part of our children's lives, is an essential focus of the school, through study of the Bible, verse memorization, conflict resolution and daily prayer. For Christian parents who are looking for regulated class sizes, excellent teachers, strong curriculum and a Christian focus, this school is worth every penny you'll invest. Stop by for a tour during school hours to see it in action!
