My daughter attended school there last year. Most the classes kids speak Spanish instead of English and schools. Which last time I checked you're still in the United States, not Mexico. A lot of bullying from spanish-speaking students. Teachers do absolutely nothing about it. Most the teachers are worthless. I refuse to send my daughter back there. I'd rather have her go to online school than a school that doesn't care about their students unless they're from Mexico

I wouldn't recommend this school
1. because i feel like sometimes the teachers don't put there full effort in to teaching i find my self as well as others having trouble doing the and sometimes other student that do understand act as the teachers because the real teacher isn't going up to the board and teaching

2. now i find this problem common in a lot of schools where they don't let you go to the bathroom often ether they say it's not my problem or they say you'v already wen't to the restroom

3. they are thinking about banning sweaters in the winter just because some people didn't tuck in

Although there are a couple of good teachers in the past and also in this time that i'v had but it is still concerning about all the bad thing they do i would like to add to the list of bad things they do there lunch is very questionable that most of the kids do not even eat

Horrible, they don't care about you at all. Most teacher don't have a license and teach you what ever they want, my science teacher would teach us about Peru and still give us a test on science. They don't prepare you AT ALL for college. Oh, and if you have a learning disability, don't bother coming here, teachers won't help and instead will punish you for it.

As a Harvest Alumni, I attended Harvest Prep for 8 years and I rate this school a 10/10.

They allow teachers and administrators to bully students, parents, and other teachers - and it starts all the way at the top with Mrs. Ybarra.

Posted: October 17, 2019

Horrible. Pulled 2 of my students from the school and only allowed one of my kids to remain there because he is almost done with high school and wanted to graduate with his friends. Deeply regret even becoming associated with this school and can’t wait to be able to say that none of my kids go there!

Thanks to the strong leaders at this school the wrestling team has now been state champs 3 years in a row for the boys and 2 years in a row for girls. Being such a small campus with not many students this is an incredible achievement! Way to go HPA. GO EAGLES!

I was a teacher that loved teaching at this school. I was always treated kindly and fair. I was given every resource that they could provide to help students achieve. HPA strives to provide the very best education for every student. They give every student the same opportunity for growth and development.

Harvest Preparatory is a great college prep school. Their focus is to teach their students values that will help them in the future. From Kindergarten the students are taught values and morals. They are also taught that College is in their future and that they need to strive for excellence!

This school cares about my child. My child can go to this school from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The classes aren't too large, they have small classes. Their sports teams go to the championship every year and they encourage my grandchild to go on to higher education.

Harvest Preparatory Academy is a great place to send your child! I am a parent of a child who attends Harvest Prep Pre-School. Harvest Preparatory Academy focuses on discipline, character development, and academic rigor. My child comes home on a daily basis excited about what he learned and is academically achieving due to the rigorous curriculum and standards alignment. I appreciate the continuous communication regarding my son and his progress. HPA offers the students a safe and secure environment to grow, develop, and flourish. I love this school and would recommend it to anyone!

Harvest Preparatory is a wonderful place to work. This is my first year working for HPA and have been treated so well. Knowing what the expectations of my job allow for future growth and challenge me to be a better professional. Working here has been an wonderful experience and can not wait to see what the future holds here at HPA! Go Eagles!!!!1

I moved my son to this school due to the excellent Special Education program that I kept hearing about. Now that my son attends Harvest Preparatory Academy, I no longer feel like he is slipping through the cracks. Harvest Preparatory Academy really cares about their students and their futures! A+

Harvest Preparatory Academy is a great school! The school offers small class sizes and great teachers. HPA also had a great drama program that allowed my daughter to expand her talents and acquire a new passion. She enjoyed participating in the school clubs as well as taking part in the leadership events that were offered at the school. Overall, HPA is a great school for any one who wants to excel academically.

Harvest Prep is an awesome school to send your child to. All of the staff members work together to make HPA a positive place for students to attend and be. I have worked here for 4 years now and wouldn't change schools for anything. The teachers challenge their students to their highest abilities and assist them in anyway they can. If you're looking for a positive environment to send your child to HPA is the school to bring them to!

Harvest Preparatory Academy is a fantastic school and a wonderful place to work. The children are always considered first and all of the teachers and staff are focused on providing an excellent education to each student.

Harvest is such a great school! Great teachers and staff! They are very involved in the community and many children are impacted by this school! I would recommend this school to many.

Be very careful of this charter school and how they treat others in and out of their environment.

Posted: April 3, 2014

Harvest Preparatory academy is a fine school! The teachers work together in Grade Level Teams to ensure students receive the benefit of teacher collaboration. There are high expectations placed on students to display good character and to strive for excellence in academics. This is not the school for students who want to "just get by". No matter if your child is struggling or excelling teachers will challenge them to do their best.

This school provides a safe and secure environment for students to learn and achieve maximum success. Its immaculately clean interior and exterior surroundings are great motivational tools for both students and teachers. Staff is highly trained and this is the only school that I know of in my 31 years of teaching that provides PD training to teachers for 2 weeks and 2 days prior to the commencement of classes for students in the fall. I have observed teachers and all staff in general working assiduously to ensure that the students have a very productive and successful year at the school.

HPA is a great school not only for its academics but the caring staff as well! Although you may see some teachers come and go, that is only because administration is doing their best to ensure that my child is getting the best education from the best teachers. Their teachers and staff care for the children and ensure that they are well taken care of not only during normal school days but also in emergency situations. I feel at ease bringing my child to school everyday.

I am very proud of this school reaching out to the community to mold, mentor and teach children to achieve their dreams no matter how high or hard they might be. The waiting list shows that this is an excellent school with tough academics. I want my children pushed to their limit to always strive for more knowing the sky is the limit for their imagination. No school is perfect but this school immediately addresses every problem that has arisen in our children's lives and we admire that aspect.

I must say that the environment is wonderful and students are respectful. On the surface it looks ideal for any parent to enroll their kids; however, it's a facade that falls apart quickly. HPA is run primarily as a business and academic institution secondary. Classroom size is great, but too much emphasis is placed on standardized testing and compromises the "true" curriculum that students should be subjected to. Teacher turn-over speaks for itself and it is admin whose is responsible for this. Many ingredients are there for a very successful school; unfortunately, business mindsets prevail instead of the development of young minds. Extremely sad but true. Students are not held accountable; instead, teachers heads are set on the chopping block when low effort determines low standardized test scores or bad grades. Look, ultimately good parenting will outweigh whatever shortcomings a school has.In this case the only drawback is that if your child is advanced or up to par, he/she will be slowed down by others w/ less responsible parents who don't encourage hard work because no accelerated or honors classes are offered. The one star is for the environment and class sizes.

We tried the school for a couple of years hoping it was better than the local public schools. Constantly had my son coming home saying his teacher said they weren't going to teach history or science because it wasn't on the state test and they even had an assembly telling the kids that if they didn't pass the test they wouldn't be asked back next year. We finished up last school year and pulled him out early into the 2010/11 school year when we came back and noticed that 3/4 of the teachers had quit and they had nothing but out-of-state teachers fresh out of school. Not a good sign!
