The kids arent even allowed to go to the nurse.. only for serious things.. Kids keep getting bullied and have told but nothing has been done! Teachers are nice at least..

Being a student of this school, I have got to say it is terrible. The students at the school are constantly picked on and harassed yet the school tends to do nothing. From experience Ive seen many students get in trouble for simple misunderstandings or just messing around with friends, instead of giving the people harassing and bullying kids on the spectrum an actual punishment. The teachers at this school are not bad but it really depends on which one of them you get, I will admit thought that the teachers here are pretty good at doing their job. Are some of them bad? Yes but most of them I got to give it to them, they are great teachers. But overall this school is probably not the best choice due to their poor policies and rules and their lack of response to actual bullying, instead getting people in trouble for silly things such as PDA.

As a former student, it's safe to say that this school is beyond safe. The constant threats of fights and bullying is outrageous. I've seen some students go online because of the amount of bullying. If you are a student of LGBTQ+ , apart of the spectrum, or have any hobbies that are seen as weird, you will be constantly harassed. I am lucky to not receive this treatment, but being on the visual side of it, I can tell how hurt some students can get. This school does nothing to protect it's students, working on punishments for PDA instead. Yes, this school does have good achievements in academics, but is that all that matters? Middle school is used to be a building block for a students future, and Corona Foothills Middle School cannot proceed that.

I can't say enough good things about this school. My kid has had the best experience and loves his teachers, staff and classes and has made a lot of new friends. The teachers have been so supportive and helpful. Corona Foothills is very organized and has fun events. Great school!

This school has bullies. They say that they will not tolerate bullying but yet they don't know how to take care of it most of the time. Some kids bully physically and mentally. Calling other kids ugly inside or outside of school or getting in fights. It's also very stressful because they have lots of kis that go to the school and because of that kids may feel that they don't get enough help.

This is our second year at this school and it has been nothing less than amazing. My child had some difficulties holding herself accountable and behaving in a middle school setting. At one point I spent the entire school day following my child around from class to class to observe her behavior. I could not have been more impressed with the level of engagement from every teacher as well as every student. All of the teachers as well as the principal were absolutely amazing at rallying around my student all year and helping her grow. She went from being a straight C/D student in the first half of the year to finishing the year with As and a B on the honor roll. Could not be more happy with this school, their incredible staff and student body.

If your child is a member of the LGBTQ don't enroll them here. The bullying at this is school is awful, the children mean and cruel and the administration does little to nothing in form of consequences for the bullies so it continues. My son was bullied so bad his developed an anxiety disorder and we had to pull him from this school for fear he'd become suicidal. Some of the teachers I think honestly care about the students but their hands are tied. My son was called horrible names inside of class and out, tripped, his things taken or thrown, and administration tried to tell him what he could do to minimize it. Not addressing that the bullies were the problem. If you child doesn't fit the "typical" mold I'd look elsewhere.

After having 3 of our kids go to this school and all leave with severe anxiety to the point where their overall health deteriorated due to the amount of bullying from other students and ZERO support from the staff, I wish I could give this school negative stars. I would not recommend this school for anyone. The principal just shrugs when you come to her to talk about the experiences of bullying your child has faced. All the good teachers are leaving or have left because the environment is so bad.

While this school is not perfect it cannot be laid only at the feet of teachers and administration. Many of the parents and students coming into the school are entitled and have a chip on their shoulder. Whenever there has been an issue with my daughter and a teacher/peer administration does their best to resolve it. The same goes for the teachers. Of course things get overlooked, but when it comes to the safety of my daughter I never questioned their efforts.

Leadership is a nightmare!!! If teachers are not held accountable how is leadership ever going to be effective? Leadership should be providing options to concerned parents and struggling students. If a parent is always trying to find ways to help their own child so should leadership. Instead we are viewed as annoying for wanting the best for our children.

They do not support kids who have learning differences or kids who are struggling in certain areas. The only offer I have received is to go to after school. Then I was told after-school is so overcrowded that it is mainly for homework and not for kids to go in and ask for help where they are struggling. I have had a meeting with the Principal on this and I was given nothing to help my child. The only option I have is me, and that does not help at all because once you fail a formative the damage is done. I can go over the subject with my child until they grasp it but the formative re-take is docked points for being a re-take. When I asked for my child to get extra work where they are struggling to have it graded I was told "We do not play favorites", which I did not understand. If my child is having to do extra homework in the afternoons and on the weekends that I am teaching him to help my child understand and learn the subject how is that "playing favorites"??? I do not mind the grade being docked like a formative re-take, but this should be allowed, especially when over the spring break the camps to help children struggling was canceled due to now having enough kids to sign up. I am trying to teach my child to keep pushing through, practice makes perfect and some of us have to try harder than others so always put in 100%..... but that message has been misconstrued thanks to the lovely leadership and staff. They make it very easy for kids to slack off instead of pushing them to succeed. They provide them with no help or options which has a major negative effect on the child. There should have been alternative options for the kids who needed/wanted to attend the camps, especially if they are struggling in a certain subject and needed help (i.e. extra assignments and lessons that are not viewed as "playing favorites").

Homework is so scattered and is not consistent. Homework is to go over what was learned in class and to help strengthen learning and understanding of the subject.topic. Some students need more time to work on things that are quickly reviewed in class, since every class is so overcrowded. My child attends after school and still can not get the help he needs due to what I have been told per the Principal and Teachers that after-school is overcrowded. If your child grasps the subject well for that day then homework should be a breeze and there should be no complaints from students or parents.

Majority of teachers are not effective due to being overworked. I have had issues with one teacher in particular and they are not effective what so ever. I have had multiple meetings with this teacher and even the Principal but nothing has been resolved. Each and every time they throw the test scores in my face and say my child is doing well on the state tests so not to worry, yet my child brings home low grades on anything done in one class. Since all work is 5 questions max and holds such a heavy weight on their grade you would think this matter would be a top priority as well, just like the state tests!! My child has this teacher for more than one class, and since the class does not do well on certain subjects this teacher has to repeatedly go over the same subject multiple times and then has to add work from one class to the other to even out the grading. Confusing, I know!! The Principal does not care about his teaching and how this teacher is TERRIBLE, because the test scores are good. More state funding is all we need in their eyes. What happened to reading books and book reports? What happened to science projects? What happened to reports on leaders in history? Instead our children bring home passages to read and answer questions so they get used to the state tests!!

Since we are military and we have moved around I can honestly say we have been to better schools. Corona Foothills has potential but it will take more work from the district, leadership and teachers to become better.

1. Poor leadership by principal and assistant principal who are clearly out of touch with the students. They are sycophants when dealing with parents, but when alone with the students it is quite different.

2. If your child does not fit the role of the all American ideal student (I feel like many of the teachers and admin would be happiest in a small school somewhere in the mid-west) they will feel like they don't belong here by the admin and some of the teachers. This isn't just my children that have been through here or are currently enrolled; it is them, their friends, and even those that fit that persona (and good for them, sincerely!) have agreed that they have it easier.

3. Large percent of grade dependent on test (formative) scores, on which there are 5 questions. Five questions is not an appropriate sample size for knowledge comprehension as STUDY AFTER STUDY has shown.

4. Hey CFMS, if you're listening, perhaps consider building up students' confidence in a environment conducive to learning rather than leaving them in constant fear of bad grades and a quarter of remedial work.

5. I will say, though, that many of the teachers seem passionate and as though they sincerely care about the students.

AS a former student at this school, I warn others: DO NOT GO HERE.
This is a TERRIBLE school and learning environment. Teachers do not teach well at all and expect students to learn most or nearly all material on their own. There are no test reviews and testing is done daily. Tests are not even graded fairly with students not even knowing why they received the grades they did. Faculty and staff are ineffective and treat students unfairly. I noticed some students are treated well while others are not for no apparent reason. The staff as a whole is incompetent and do not take an interest in student well-being. I am not going to give details here but I would warn anyone contemplating this school to not go here unless you want to feel publicly humiliated and demeaned and receive poor grades from incompetent staff.

My child went to Corona for two years. I think that the administration tries very hard to resolve the issues of bullying and drug use but there is still way more at this school than at other schools we have been at. The administration does do a good job of following up on student's complaints but it is just a very rough student population. I wouldn't recommend this school because of the bullying. Additionally the sports programs and other extracurricular activities are very unorganized and not of a good quality. My child is really happy to be leaving.
