This school is absolute garbage, my kids attended this year for 4th grade. The teachers are not involved, they rely way too much much on tablets, and it sure seems as if they expect the parents to teach the kids rather than doing their jobs. If I could give this worthless school a zero I would.

As a student I should be almost getting in fights there were a lot of fights this year and some teachers did nothing about as you know it is protocol to call parents if there’s a fight or almost or words are said but when an altercation happened between me and another kid my parents were not called plus some staff are rude

my son has been going to akers since kindergarden and has had the most amazing teachers!!!
He went into kindergarden not reading not reading and half way through was reading chapter books!!!
we love that school supplies is provided and lunches are free! would alway reccommend this school! They have so many fun events and trips for the kids!
we ar eso sad we are PCSing and leaving this amazing school!!

As a current student at this school I fell as if it is mediocre best allow me to explain. First let’s start off with the teaching I find that most if not all of the assignments and or curriculum are just premade and read off slides. This bothers me because i fell that is okay every once and a while but nonstop need to point out how easy it would be to cheat ( I will gladly take a easy A) but at the end of the day you would end up not learning anything but I do approach the fact they occasionally do add there own thoughts which leads me into my next point learning experience. As discussed in the previous segment they only read stuff off slides which I find is not engaging and as you all likely know when one is not engaged you tend to drift off and not focus causing you to not absorb information only remembering bits and pieces. As for special education they only have one special ed teacher in the entirety of the junior high wing which as one who is on the autism spectrum I find extremely infuriating for obvious reasons. Now for the quick ones. Safety, since this is on NAS Lemoore it is plenty safety wise. As for engagement with the family my teachers if failing contact them and talk to them so I find that decent enough. This concludes my review of this school I wish it simply the best and for those wondering this was not written out of spite and with that I bid you adu.

The principal is a weak leader who only has a stellar rating because of all of the grants given to this school. If he was a principal at any other school, he'd be mediocre at best. He repeatedly broke parent/administrator confidentiality and only cares about school reputation and not about parents who have concerns.

They do not have a large support staff for children with disabilities of all kinds. They also do not have a gifted program.

If I could give this school a zero, I would. Upon arriving the NAS Lemoore, I was told that Akers was one of the top rated schools in the state. I researched their ratings and sure enough, they met my standards in paper. What I saw in person and on paper, however, was drastically different. The office staff rarely had good days. They were frequently rude to parents and students who approached them. Good luck getting them to answer the phone during the day. It's easier just to drive to the school and walk in the office to have questions answered. As far as leadership goes, i was extremely disappointed in the administration of the school. The way they broke confidentiality and handled personal concerns regarding my child's education was unacceptable. I encourage any parent to question the teachers and admin about their use of technology in the classroom. There have been numerous occasions of internet security issues at this school. Children/families have been blamed and the school takes zero responsibility for the incidents. Several teachers allow unsupervised technology and have begun to use technology as a teaching replacement instead of a learning tool. My children were pulled from Akers to be homeschooled due to the sheer disappointment of the Aker's educational experience.

No homework was given. No weekly or even monthly newsletters were sent home to inform parents of current topics being learned. Homework isn't always necessary, but can be the home-school connection to keep parents informed when there isn't any other avenues of communication.

The teachers at this school are tenured after two years of work in the school. Most of the teachers at this school are lazy and simply clock in and clock out.

We decided to homeschool after attending Akers for a little over a month. It was such a huge disappointment after all the rave reviews. When we were transferred to NAS Lemoore, we were told that we had to live on base for our kids to attend this school. We begrudgingly moved to base housing, and later learned that we had been misinformed. I was baffled by the office staff and the way they treated parents and students alike. I've never been spoken to in such a belittling way. Moving to the principal, a very meek and weak man. I attempted to work with him a few times, but quickly realized that he was not in charge. Teachers, this is a tough one. Teachers at this school might be great teachers, but it's hard to tell between all the stopping for disobedient children. All in all, I appreciate this school for being such a disappointment because it lead us to an amazing homeschool adventure that I wouldn't have jumped into with out the aggressive push that Akers gave us.

I like this school. Yes the office staff is a little rude. But the teaching staff is very helpful and tries so hard to find ways to help each student out in a way that an individual child will understand what they are learning. The principal and vice principal are awesome and do a fantastic job. Every morning one of them is outside greeting parents and children as they walk up to the school. The school nurse is very knowledgeable and friendly. The librarian is great. She offered to buy a book for my daughter during an author's visit when they didn't have a credit card machine. This school is one of the best in the state of California.

Since I have started high school I have grown to really miss this school. Although I was only a student from 6th-8th grade I can say those were probably my most memorable years of school so far in my life. The teachers are great and the office staff aren't that bad. Only one bad thing that comes to mind is the drama at this school but I think it's easy to resolve if you put your mind to it.

As a student on the Autism spectrum, I was shocked when I attended this school 2 years ago. The school district made multiple privacy violations and has no respect for their staff or students. Their attempts to improve their image are complete BS. It was so bad that my parents pulled me out of school and enrolled me in a private online school. If you are in this school, you need to know your rights! Otherwise, the school will completely walk over you like you mean nothing to them.

The teachers are top notch however the office staff are rude and unprofessional. One in particular is very unfriendly and talks down to students and adults. She never seems to have anything nice to say. I wonder why she has been at the school for so long??? I would rate the school a 5 stars if it wasn't for her. If you are looking for an awesome education and wonderful teachers then Akers is the BEST school in the county, but beware of the office staff!!

I am very proud to be a teacher at Akers Elementary. I am fortunate to be a part of such a dedicated and professional staff. At Akers, we are all about what is best for our students. Time and time again, I see teachers, administrator, janitorial staff and other staff members going out of their way to make things better for students. We also have one of the best Parent Clubs ever. Together with devoted parents and excellent staff ...... Akers Elementary Rocks!
