My experience at Kings River is a very memorable one with many people I will cherish for many years to come. The education program here is very developed and the teachers here are fantastic on what they do! My complaints about the school is that favoritism plays a HUGE role in the school. Also, some of the staff here are rude and will treat you like a burden and make you feel very unwelcomed.

LEARNING :
Like I stated earlier the school has a very good curriculum. But one thing I can confirm as an alumni is that they push REALLY hard out here. I was breaking down mentally because I felt overwhelmed with the amount of work I was given and I often left with homework to do.

TEACHERS :
The teachers here are very great! When I asked for help they always explained it thoroughly and even did a problem of two with me.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SUPPORT :
There is a counselor that comes once a week, a full time psychologist, and a social worker and I'd say they really do help. I was in and out of the psychology rooms a lot in my middle school years and I always felt comfortable and welcomed in there but sometimes, I still felt stressed. But, most of the time I felt like they helped me.

SPECIAL EDUCATION :
I was never really in the special education classrooms but from what I observed from when I saw the teachers and their students out on campus, the teachers for the special education are pretty nice and work well with their students.

SAFTEY:
There is an officer out on campus and the kids there didn't really bother me so personally I always felt safe.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT :
I'd say the school invites families as partners in their children's learning. There are yearly parent teach conferences, school events, and educational field trips.

All in all, as an alumni, I would 10/10 recommend this school for their curriculum but for some of the other staff who treated my like I was interrupting something when I knew I wasn't (AND IT WAS PART OF THEIR JOB), 6/10.

Every teach and staff member I have come across this year has been incredibly encouraging to my students!

These teachers and staff members are very effective. Both, in positive & negative manners. The one rude teacher my son had, completely changed his attitude the entire year last year.
Yet my daughters amazing teacher pushed her further than she's ever gone!

I'm not sure how I feel about the homework. Some days it's an incredible amount that takes us from the time we get home at 3:30pm, through dinner time and rushing to wrap it up before bedtime. There have been days the kids struggle and feel drowned by homework. There have been days that I have noticed I myself, feel drowned by the amount of homework. I partly attributed it to not being in school for so long, that I have just forgotten what homework looks like.

The schools policy about being a Wildcat is great! It really keeps the student responsible for themselves and teaches them to hold accountability. Their Anti-Bulling Pledge that every student must sign, is very positive. Instillin;, Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring & Citizenship in our students. Not one of my kids has had a problem with bullying!

Although we had an experience with an awfully rude Kindergarten teacher last year, my oldest has made so many strides. Coming from Lemoore School District, where it felt like she wasn't grasping anything, and that there wasn't enough help to get her learning, I am just amazed. She went from not receiving any academic awards in previous school years to being presented with 4 or more awards at award ceremonies. She had a wonderful teacher last year who pushed her & motivated her! They offer after school tutoring and a daily workshop to work more one on one in a small group setting, as opposed to the whole 25 kids in a class. They take their time and make sure your child is not left behind!

I'm so disappointed that this is suppose to be one of the best schools in the area and they have proven to me that it was the worst mistake to have even enrolled my children at this school. No one seems to know what happens here when an accident occurs. Some not all staff are awfully rude.

Kindergarten teacher would NOT tie my son's shoe. Told him to "tuck it in". He tripped over it for hours and it fell off causing him to step in thorns. Next day (day two of the school year!) she left him on the schoolyard and took the children back to class. He had to yell for help until someone on a golf cart came to get him. HE IS 5!! We have yet to hear back from the teacher and no one in the office seems to know or care about what happened. We only know that our sweet boy was terrified when we picked him up and wanted to go to a different school. We also witness a 4 year old transitional kinder student looking for her teacher, knocking on the class door with no one to help her. This would not happen if they would simply keep kindergarten separate (like other schools do) from the rest of the children. Pure chaos at this school.

EXCELLENT school. I attended this school from k-8th grade and now my children go there. We moved back to the area when my son was in kindergarten and had previously attened private school. After seeing both the private schools available to us and this school, I chose Kings River over all the privates. I chose it for for its cirriculum, mostly... They have an amazing music program available to all students, art, physical education, and many other "extras". The school is not perfect, but it is a great school. I have only had positive experiences there with both parents and staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. -Kylee Henderson, parent and past student
