I am deeply saddened by the response to bullying at this school. We, like most families, were excited to attend the local school in our community, but after our experience with classroom bullying coupled by an unacceptable lack of response from the principal, and bullying coming downward from the teachers themselves following complaints, my child has been removed.
If your child is picture perfect and does not require any assistance or guidance whatsoever, they will probably succeed here. If your child requires social emotional assistance, homework assistance, or assistance commuting, they will be ignored and discarded and will very quickly grow to hate school - and we cannot continue to do this to our babies.

Amazing school! My daughter has been here for 3 years and loves her teachers

I love this school for how well the staff and teachers care for the students. The achievements my student has reached from being at this school is just amazing. She was having a hard time reading when she first came to two rivers but the teacher she had went above and beyond to work with us!
This school gives me that old school feeling of community and support you can’t find anymore! A lot of the near by schools also go up to 8th grade now and I love that this school held to the traditional grade levels! It goes up to 5th grade. This school also offers all day kindergarten! What!!! That’s amazing!
I also must say I feel like my children are so safe at this school! The teachers and staff make relationships with everyone well enough to know people and faces! It’s such a wonderful community in this area! Thank goodness for this school!

When is comes to minority and low income students at this school I definitely see a lack of service. The faculty here subscribe to deficit thinking, which in turn leads to poor outcomes for minorities and low income students. I am not sure how much of this is intentional as opposed to subconscious bias but if the faculty focused more on the positive they would see improvement.

It’s not too much, with the understanding that children have extra curricular activities after school.

Moved here last March from San Jose and knew we loved it right away when Becky in the office conducted our tour with clown glasses on. All the kids knew her and greeted my daughter with positive things to say about the school. My shy, dyslexic 4th grader has improved drastically in not only math and reading/writing, but socially as well, and has done an about-face with her attitude towards school. Her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Campisi, offers tutoring for her kids before and after school for free, offering help with assignments, homework, etc. I was thrilled to have choir available to all kids after school as well (again, no charge) and their parent-led after-school enrichment classes are wonderful! Coming to Two Rivers was a great, life changing decision!

It is time to make a switch! Just because it is a Distinguished school DOES NOT mean it's a good school. Too many reasons to list why I'm pulling my kids out. Stir away and find a better school.

Two Rivers is a great school- many reasons include, the newest enrichment program. This is sponsored by our PTA- and includes classes from baseball to geo caching, to book clubs and spanish, music etc. All classes are held after school and are taught by parent volunteers. Our school also offers additional assistance for those in need, through the otter club. The teachers are great- the community is awesome & the PTA really supports the school. It is one of the best schools in the natomas area.

Two Rivers is ok as NUSD schools go. We moved my son over to NUSD from Twin Rivers USD when NUSD went to "fuill day" Kindergarten. We love his teacher, Ms Nickless. she really cares bout the kids and not in a mushy mushy way. She is loving yet firm. Like that. My son was sad to leave his friends and school at Twin Rivers USD but has grown in leaps and bounds through his KInder experiences. My complaint is directed not at the teachers or the curriculum but at the "management". Not happy with the new principal. Never see her interact with the kids, in the classroom or at after school events. She does not seem to have her HEART in it!? Why? MY son's former Principal, Micheal Reed, loved interacting with the students: jog-a-thon, Harvest festival etc. He was/is GREAT!

WE love this school! My son is the special education preschool, and it has been such a wonderful experience. He has grown socially and developmentally this year. The teacher and the aids are encouraging, professional, supportive, and dedicated.

Classes are relatively small and teachers are very involved and passionate about teaching. They have also started to bring more technology into the classrooms which I think makes Two Rivers more competitive with public and private schools.

I am so very disappointed in Two Rivers Elementary School. My child has been attending there since 2nd grade when I heard they had an amazing Learning Center. The LC is above and beyond. The problem is that there is nothing done about bullying and parents of the fearful child are asked to minimize their time on campus cause the child needs to learn these conflict skills for their future school years. The school district does not take action except phone calls to the school. I am removing my child from this school for her safety. I am sad to take her from the best special ed teachers we have ever met.

Two Rivers is the best elementary school in Natomas. It is a safe school, the Principal, Doctor Segovia -Hale always makes sure gates are closed & children are supervised. My children's teachers (Mrs. Nickless & Mrs.Irby) care about them and teach them what they need to learn to be successful. Two Rivers has high academic & behavior expectations. I highly recommend Two Rivers!
