The leadership at this school is completely incompetent. It is an echo chamber where discipline is manipulated, staff uses students to turn against each other and manufacture narratives to get to their desired outcome. The district is complicit, adults only support the adults. Any complaints puts the district into defense mode and walls go up vs actually seeking resolution. Favorites are played among the students. Staff creates social struggles between the kids. Without new leadership with checks & balances, it will continue to get worse. Parents are putting in their 3 years and hoping to get out, recommend speaking up for change, too many kids are being negatively impacted. Zero advocacy for the students and massive discipline problems

We came into the school year very excited for a new chapter. Very soon we learned the interesting social discipline the school promotes, taking children witnesses and statements, ignoring any root causes. This incentivizes an environment to build stories and gives the power to the students. This places a huge emphasis on the social drama rather than suppressing it. My advice is to have your child immediately report any small issues before they have potential to blow up and you have no leg to stand on. Some social behaviors are expected by kids and there is a hovering mentality. There is favorites being played for sure. There is complete oversight to threats on students because the VP and Principal are blind, absolutely negligent. Good luck if you ever partition any written disciplinary action. The district is just as negligent and this will go to a black whole with no follow up. Read anything that is written up, you will see the twist to stories once your child has a target on their back. Theres so much focus on social discipline, this affects the educational time and focus, its very disturbing. If youre thinking of enrolling your child here, run. And I highly encourage parents with same experience to please speak up because without it, this will continue.

The teaching staff are incredibly warm and helpful in ensuring all students succeed. The office and support staff go out of their way to know every student's name and interests; it's really impressive. I highly recommend PG!

Pleasant Grove is a great school! The principal and VP are very visible and supportive of students and families. Teachers and staff work very hard to support the needs of students. There is a huge effort to involve the community.

I am continuously inspired by the warmth and encouragement of these students that attend Pleasant Grove. They are supported in such an encouraging atmosphere, that they learn to treat each other with warmth, concern, and support. There are many programs, clubs, activities
to ensure that each student has the opportunity to excel academically. Students are eager to befriend the special education students, and go
out of their way to include all students in activities and friendships.
I would highly recommend this school!

No support for students diagnosed with ADHD. Staff decided to ignore diagnosis and refused to allow testing by school psych to gain access to IEP. Student was suspended. My children no longer attend this school nor will they in the future.

My kids will not be returning next year. Trying to get your children educated should not be such a challenge. I am truly disappointed with the experience we've had here. There are a few great teachers here embedded in an environment of impatience and apathy. Both of my children have stated they had teachers that hate them. Hate. The after school program was terrible too, not safe and not fun for the kids. I can't think of anything positive to say overall. I'm not sure it's different anywhere else, I will be home schooling next year.

My son came into 6th grade excited and was sick with anxiety by November from one bully teacher and no way to remedy the situation. He also learned a lot about vaping and sexual content from the school grounds.

There is no follow through or care. The principal left for a another job this month, I'm not surprised. Hopefully the assistant principal is not promoted or the school will be even worse off.

I was a student at this school since 2011. I'm moving on to high school now but I can still remember all the pros and cons this school had. I had a wonderful time at this school since I first arrived until the day I left. In sixth grade you will often have a very heavy backpack and have to carry around things that were not very necessary, such as notebooks we only used once a month on random days etc. the older students treat the younger ones fairly and most students are quite nice. In all 3 years I have had some teachers that don't teach very well or give out more packets than hands-on work. 8th grade year is by far the best, yet the hardest, year, and you feel a great sense of accomplishment when your done. Over all I loved this school! I would give a 4 star on teaching though. I would reccomend less packets and a little more one-on-one and hands-in work.

I am very happy with Pleasant Grove Middle School. The teachers are fantastic and they're academic programs are great. My child has made great improvements since we moved here!

Just relocated here and have an 8th grade boy at this school. LOVE it!!! The kids are all so friendly and welcoming and they have a strong "anti-bully" rule at the school. The principal and vice principal are very much involved in all aspects of the school. This is the first year that my son has been in public school and it has been a wonderful experience. LOVE all the teachers! Very very happy here and would recommend to anyone!

My second child just finished 8th grade at Pleasant Grove. It is a wonderful school from the top down. The administration responds to concerns quickly and efficiently and the teachers are talented and trained. There are programs for remediation and for those that exce tool. Just a great school overall.

Pleasant Grove is a wonderful school. My 3rd child will enter it in the fall. The principal and vice principal are super and encourage the kids to excel. The teachers are skilled, caring and helpful. Best middle school in the area!!!

Since moving here from So. CA, we startled to find out that my daughter had to attend "Middle School" in the 6th grade. That said, our experience with Julie, Carol and Mr. Scroggins in staff has been excellent, very kind, helpful and understanding. The segregation of 6th graders in rooms & teachers also helped the qualms. My daughter is very happy in this marvelous school. Keep up the FAB work Pleasant Grove...Go PUMAS!!! Thank you JULIE!!!
