As a parent I think the teachers are very skilled. Theyre very experienced from the kindergarten level. You have 25 year plus teachers with a lot of confidence and how they teach and how they talk to the students. Its been an unbelievable experience with both those teachers as they are very knowledgeable, of course and what they are doing

My two daughters went through this school and loved it! The one star review I read here is a complete opposite of what my kids felt or any parents I have ever talked too! This school loves there students and always goes the extra mile to make sure they succeed.

We were new to the school in the Fall of 2017. Our kids came from a private school in the bay area and are currently in 3rd and 4th grade. Both kids have transitioned well thanks to the welcoming students and staff. And both our kids were academically prepared coming from a private school. We did a lot of research before we relocated and bought a house in this schools boundaries. Its the community and staff that makes this school shine. Our only complaints, although this is with almost all public schools in CA, classes are too large especially in the upper grades and there is minimal enrichment opportunity. That is the biggest trade off going from private to public school. No school is perfect and every child/family is looking for something different. Do your research. Both the Buckeye and Rescue School Districts in this area have pretty solid schools. Oak Meadow Elementary is meeting our needs and you will be hard pressed to find a better public elementary school option. We are grateful our family landed here.

Both my kids attend Oak Meadow. My son is in 3rd grade and my daughter in kindergarten. We've had really positive experiences at this school. In addition to the normal curriculum, the school also offers an art program called Meet the Masters, which is entirely funded by fundraisers and taught my parent volunteers. The kids absolutely love it when it's art day. The majority of the teachers are excellent. Some are better than others of course and the office staff is warm and friendly. I'm not sure why some people did not have a good experience here but so far, my kids love Oak Meadow and we are fortunate that we have such an excellent school just a few minutes from our home.

Excellent school with caring teachers, involved parents and a well rounded curriculum. Our daughter enjoys going to school and with the TK program she just attended, she is confident going into Kindergarten with the skills and knowledge that she acquired in the past year.

The previous post is not a good generalization of Oak Meadow. Our child is in her 4th year at Oak Meadow. She loves her school and is motivated to thrive and show up every day. We have had nothing but positive experiences with all teachers at Oak Meadow. The principal is caring and available to those that need her attention. The office staff are attentive to the kids and the parents. It is hard to read that a child would be hit with a pencil. I have never heard of such a thing happening at this school. Not every public environment is right for each child. If my children were resistant to going to school every day, I would look at options and not point the finger at such a great public school in our community. I have nothing but positive experiences with Oak Meadow and I am confident that the majority of parents that have children at this school feel this way. Too bad for the last reviewer.

This school does not provide loving or respectful environment for children. We moved to EDH 2 years ago and my children are attending oak meadow elementary school for the 2nd year. Last year my younger child absolutely hated his teacher because the teacher would hit him with a pencil or a rolled up paper on child's head. However, my older child absolutely adored his teacher. This year its a struggle to send them off to school as they have no desire to be there. I hate the hours that they are in school, it breaks my heart to see them being so unhappy and unmotivated. They both are very smart and curious, but in the environment that only tells them how bad they are and continuously "picks" on them they lost the ability to hear and comprehend the subjects that are being taught to them. I have to teach them the subjects at home from their homework just so they don't fall behind. Before they were moved to this school they were very happy to go to school, they would be upset to be home when they were sick. The personnel in the office are very unpleasant! I hate to go in to the office and see them being so grumpy. I feel like i am a burden to them if i ask them anything.

High student to teacher ratio. In kindergarten it is 28 to 1. I don't mind homework, volunteering and helping my child. However, my child does not fit within the norm. The teachers are not very helpfull and it's up to me to help my child catch up. It's difficult to understand what the teacher's role is.
