If your child has a disability or any sort of ADHD or autism. I dont recommend this school at all. My son went to a different school for preschool and I decided to transfer him here bc its a magnet school. But they always labeled my son as bad and they also kicked him out of afterschool program over something that couldve been prevented by the teacher. He now goes back to the same school he went to in preschool and he has no issues. Hes in afterschool program and its been three months since school started and Ive gotten no complaints from his teachers. I cant seem to let go how terrible this school was to my son. I would email principal sawyer and he would reply to me saying he will follow up and never did. The only reason I took my son to get checked out was from how bad they complained about him. Mind you his preschool teacher never said anything bad about him and now his first grade teacher hasnt said anything bad about him. But with all honesty if you want your child to succeed you have to put him somewhere where theyre going to try to make him the best version of the kids and sadly this school just isnt it. And I dont recommend. My son was only 5 hearing every single day from his teacher and his after school program teacher how bad he was. I would feel so bad for my baby but I knew ones the school year was over so was his time at that school . Principal sawyer needs to do a better job at paying attention to the kids & actually try to make the school a positive ground instead of bringing down 5 year olds and allowing the teachers to do the same , Apart from them allowing everybody and anybody on campus which should be a safety hazard. I dont recommend this school at all. I try to let it go but its hard when hes my only child and I witness how terrible they treated him emotionally. I knew I couldnt leave him there again because I couldnt trust them with my baby. And then to top it off they didnt hold a kindergarten graduation . I know deep down I shouldve just left him at his home school since the start.

My daughter started Kindergarten at Hamilton this year. We moved from New York and we are brand new to the Fresno Unified School District. We love our daughter's Kindergarten teacher and all of the staff. Everyone is welcoming and kind to the kids and many of the parents I've met are generous and kind too.

There are some awesome teachers at this school, one being Mrs. Kaufmann 4th grade. My K and 1st grader still attend this school. I did however like Mr Jones better, but this is a transition period and some quick judgments will happen. I also wanted to reply to the parent that said they did not inform the parents of the new policy change, as they did inform parents by phone well before school started. It is very important to have the correct phone number on file at the school for such incidences. Mrs. Rose 1st grade seems to be a very caring and strict teacher, but in a good way. I really like this school and give 4 stars instead of 5 because of the change of principles.

Ever since the new principal, Ms. Marquez, has been there this school is going down hill. Marquez's lack of communication and constant desire to make a name for herself at the expense of the children is frightening. The school actually lost my child ( and a few others) for about 30 minutes thanks to Marquez's new pick up policies, which she did not communicate to parents prior to implementing them.It was so frightening. I pulled my son out immediately and FUSD got me an inter-district transfer that same day. Beware!

Being that many of the great teachers have left since Mrs. Marquez has come on board, I cannot say that the teachers are effective as many of them are substitutes. There are a few good teachers hanging in there, but I doubt they will be able to put up with the new administration for long.

The good teachers are all leaving the school since Mrs. Marquez became principal. There are a few hanging in there, but not as many as they used to have.

Our son went K-6 here. They are on their 3rd principle whom we don't particularly like. She has a rather harsh attitude and has nexed most of the art learning projects that the kids used to do as part of their studies. She seems to have taken the fun out of this magnet school. There are a lot of good teachers here but the new principle has clipped their wings the last couple of years. Without good leadership great teachers will get frustrated and move on. They are sometimes overwhelmed with the # of students, especially in 6th grade. The students rotate between 3 teachers for their core subjects and I think this takes its toll on the teachers. There is one teacher who will try to fit your child into a learning box and if they don't fit, will easily label them with a disorder du jour. Unfortunately this teacher is still there.
