So thankful for this school! My son had the BEST first grade teacher this year and just flourished under her guidance. His test scores were way higher at the end of the year than the beginning and she took the time to really engage and pour into each student in her class to give them the additional attention they needed to thrive.

I have mixed reviews. But the first several years that we went there I raved about the school. I encouraged other people to look into the school, I love the school, and I will say they have done some amazing things for my family. But after nine years now of being at the school, Im starting to have a change of heart. The amount of favoritism that comes out of that school for kids of teachers or kids of admin, is off-the-wall. They will sweep anything and everything under the rug. If you need something from the principal or having an issue, good luck ever hearing from anybody. I have placed multiple phone calls about sexual-harassment multiple emails about sexual harassment and I have never heard one thing back from anybody . So sadly after years and years and years of being a part of that school, I cant recommend them. If you want a child to grow up with self-esteem, that is not the school !!!

Hello! I am a former student and just wanted to share some thoughts. The teachers are ok, but they don't know how to teach at all. It's horrible! The only teacher I thought did a good job at teaching left this past year. I went to this school for 7th and 8th grade and was disappointed. Aside from having to wear a uniform, teachers constantly focus on the wrong things you did instead of the good things you did. The way the "citation" system works is that you can either get a Merit for being good, or a D-merit for being bad. I don't think my teachers gave out a single Merit throughout my entire experience there, but they gave out tons of D-merits. I do not recommend this school in the slightest unless you don't care about education, having to wear a uniform, and like having bad experiences at schools.

This has been a wonderful school for our children for several years (lower elementary). The teachers are very kind and approachable. They actively work with parents to understand children as individuals, even if unique needs arise (we've had a couple). The principal is compassionate, skilled in conflict resolution and genuinely cares about the students. There is an atmosphere of teamwork that is apparent among the staff. The education is well- rounded and, when I had to take my children out for a year due to covid, they were easily able to excel in their grade- level work at home. Adventure is particularly good at teaching phonics and spelling. In non- covid times the enrichment classes and activities are really awesome for my kids.

On the outside, they appear friendly and warm but once you start sending your kids there its a different story. Ive heard about favoritism prior to sending my kid here but wanted to give it a try. Well...indeed there are. If your kid is not part of admin staff or been around for awhile then you will receive poor treatment. There is absolutely NO accountability for bullying behavior. The reason for this is because the principal is related to some of the teachers so she excuses the bullying behavior while the teachers are not well trained with behavioral issues and discipline. My child was bullied for a couple of months and the teachers method is to separate them, which teaches the kids nothing! Kids here learn how to bully other kids and to get away with it. Theres no boundaries or good character building. Its a school that focuses only on academics.

My son(2nd Grader) was physically assaulted by another student at this school and there was no disciplinary action taken!

My son was Choked during class by another student for NO reason! This student did not let go of my sons throat till my son started crying and said he couldn't breath!!! I asked for this other student to be transferred to a different classroom! The principal told me she would transfer my son but not the other student because that student has been going to this school since pre-K! There was no concern for my sons well-being or safety whatsoever!

Took my son to the doctor because he was complaining that it hurts to swallow! Doctor said the reason this is a serious situation is because that other student could've easily collapsed my sons airways!

This student got away with chocking my son because his mother works for bayside! Regardless every student should have to obey the same rules! They obviously play favoritism at the school!

My son is now traumatized because of what happened to him. I have lost all respect for this school and church!
The way the principal handled this situation was wrong!

For our multi-student family, this has been an excellent educational experience. Our children are performing well above standards and what would be expected, and we see them growing into responsible, caring people who love God and love people. It is difficult to get enrolled, and important to start in preschool in order for one's child to more likely become enrolled into kindergarten and beyond. I fear that some are posting quite negative comments after not making it through enrollment (being angered by that), rather than actually experiencing this school and its caring staff and faculty. Also, as it is a religious-based school, some may be attacking it with negative comments simply for that reason, not even having had children attend here. I am a parent, and our children do attend here. We (both) cry when we watch them at various performances and events, so amazing and high quality are they, with a spiritual sense of God's love...it is evident that they are getting our money's-worth and a lot more. We would have our children attend here before any other school.

I could go on for a long while about how truly effective the teachers our children have had are. But I won't. They simply are very effective. Our children wake up in the morning and WANT to go to school. They miss it during the summer, and on Christmas break, and tell us emphatically. That should be a major indicator.

It's tempting to answer this as "not enough" or else "too much" as others have. Yet, how can one really know what the "right amount" is? We're not swamped with homework. Yes, there is often homework, most often daily, and sometimes it takes a good while (30 minutes to over an hour) to complete. That seems like a healthy amount, for young students. I think a lot of parents will just have different impressions of this based on their own schooling experiences.

These aspects are central to this school's reputation as a private religious school. Children are being pulled apart by society today, and honesty, integrity, and fairness are hard to find in so many settings with children in the general public. I don't see these problems, or hardly ever, when attending events at the school, and it is evident that the staff and faculty are not only instilling these, but also demonstrating them in a way that is absorbed by the students.

Teachers appear to follow some standards, but because it is a private school they follow christian school guidelines and some public school standards. They tell you that they go above and beyond, but that's not true.

This school doesn't prepare your child for middle school or high school for that matter. My child will not be returning in the fall. The school says is teaches using project based learning. Some projects are used in some grades. It all depends on the teacher. Some use too many projects and exhaust the parents and others use none. Two years in a row there has been a massive amount of teachers/staff quit.

First day of preschool orientation I got red flags from this school when the principal slipped up on stage admitting how some teachers are excited to be leaving soon" and finnally get out of here" and mentioning how "theyer all jealous. "And "can't wait to leave. "The deal braker is when I let my kid do their "lunch bunch " after hours program and found my 4year old on the play ground alone because the teacher forgot him! luckily I was nearby and saw her entering the classroom down the hall with the rest of the children while my child was locked alone on the play ground completely unsupervised. It was inexcusable she had a list of all the kids she should have with her to take roll but didn't,also I believe in helping your kids at home to help fortify their education but when you pay this much you shouldn't feel like you're doing all the teaching. My kid already knew his ABCs and sounds and how to cout to 20 But the teacher admits she doesn't enforce learning sight words which is required to get into their kindergarten. This school isn't worth the money I picked it because it looked safe and they proved otherwise very disappointed we will be going else where for kindergarten.

Administratively the school is well run and organized; they keep parents well informed and much of the info is accessible online (super convenient.) I love that the kids and staff are all in uniform (looks great and is a safety feature) but dislike that the campus is not gated because its next to the church. Many of the teachers are enthusiastic and well meaning but not all are qualified (lack an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in education or related field.) So one year your child may get a great teacher that is engaged, creative, and well qualified, the next you may get a dud. Parental involvement is "welcome" but not all teachers utilize parents; currently you can participate 1 hour a week in your child's class. I'm a SAHM and continually ask if I can volunteer in my daughter's class, the teacher seems indifferent. Administration is responsive to parental feedback but you have to be diligent if you want resolution on a negative issue. The curriculum is average; most kids in TK are 5 and K are 6, that may account for higher test scores. Given the tuition I was expecting excellent, this being my 5th year here I would rate them slightly above average but not excellent.

Administration is lacking the proper skills necessary to run this school. Bullying is rampant. Grace is given continually. Some teachers appear overwhelmed and deeply upset by the poor behavior of some students whom the grace card has been given so much that the students now know that there is no true discipline. So, if you want a lot of grace for your child and for your child to not be held accountable for any of their actions, this is the place to be. My child now attends a new school where bullying is not tolerated and children know that there are consequences for their behavior.

My family has been blessed beyond measure by the opportunity to be part of the Adventure Christian School Family. My children have attended ACS since preschool and now I have one entering the junior high. Each year has provided growth both academically and spiritually. The staff is well educated, qualified and demonstrate love for all students. The teachers are also well supported by administration. ACS has small class sizes, teaching assistants, a beautiful facility and collaboration amongst teachers. In addition, they offer special classes that are being cut from many public school programs such as, computers, science, Spanish, P.E. and music. ACS offers an excellent and competitive education. In talking with parents of graduates it is great to hear how well prepared and successful they are. These graduates are becoming leaders in their new schools and return often to serve and support ACS long after graduating. I believe that is because ACS is more than a school, it is family. I agree with the previous review. We have invested wisely in our children's education. Worth every PENNY and more!

This will be our children's sixth year attending Adventure Christian School. At first we intended only to enroll in their preschool program but loved the school and the way each teacher / aide loved on our children. My children are challenged each and every day... Our intention is to keep our children at Adventure through 8th grade...keeping our fingers crossed for the addition of a high school! It is worth very PENNY!!!!

Worth every PENNY and more! We could not be more blessed than to have found a school like Adventure. We find such value in that their test scores are compared to the National Average, (not just to performance in the state of California which ranked 30th in the nation in 2011 if you do your research). While at Adventure, our children have been encouraged to grow spiritually while being taught strong academics. I was surprised to read what the person wrote below because that was not our experience at all. It was my understanding that private schools are not required to have credentialed teachers and being a family of Adventure for many years now, over 90% of Adventure's teachers are credentialed - something we looked at as well. The school is a private Christian school, so I expect Christan character traits such as faithfulness, diligence, forgiveness, and grace to be taught. Thank you Adventure for providing a place for my kids to be challenged in their academics without compromising the loving and encouraging atmosphere kids need to be surrounded by to thrive.

This school is a complete waste of money! They act like they have a top notch education but they have a lower standard of education than the public schools. They keep talking about giving "grace" to the students but all they are doing is raising a bunch of undereducated, unprepared students for high school and college. Kids are passed to the next grade when they shouldn't be. The teachers, some who have credentials and some don't, are very weak and more worried about hurting the kids' feelings rather than teaching them. They actually don't use red pens to mark papers because they say that it is too "negative" and they don't want to hurt the kids' feelings. I have had experiences when a teacher has given "grace" on tests and homework so as not to hurt the feelings. How are kids supposed to learn like this?? I have spoken to other parents who have had the same experiences and are pulling their kids out too. I pay the expensive tuition for my child to be educated and prepared for the real and competitive world. I don't want "grace". Not worth the money they charge. Turns out the local charter and public schools in the area having a better eduation and are free!
