When we found out that my daughters teacher was going to be out on maternity leave we were ecstatic as the prospect of having a new teacher might change things. Then we found out that that she would be coming in all the time and forcing all her ideals/lesson plan we took her out. She was a heartless, mean teacher who actually bullied the kids including yelling at my daughter.

Mrs K. was the principal this year and she simply has no control of her school or teachers. There was no fund raising at all this year and the only field trips were on campus. The only time they left the school was to walk to the movie theater and bowling alley at the end of year at which they didn't have enough food to even feeds the kids but made sure to feed the chaperones.

If your child has any sort of learning differences you need to either move, enroll your child in home school or have an inter district transfer. This school is all about test scores. If your child does not conform to their standards they will separate them from the rest of the class and have the parents to teach your child. I had a parent tell my daughter "Doesn't your mom help you at home?"

We moved to the area for this school. We had to take my daughter out of the school as they would segregate the students that would so called "Not pay attention" My daughter was in the Second grade and used to love school. She started school at a 4th grade reading level and she was put down to first. The teacher would punish her for forgetting her log in to quiz on the books she read. My son was miserable when coming to the school. They would simply concentrate on reading and writing with no guidance on any other subjects. To describe this school as a nightmare is an understatement. The principal just walks around and does nothing. The only areas they do well are in bullying.

the teachers are great at this school until there is a problem and I asked for my child to be tested, then the administration takes it's sweet time to respond back or to follow through, very disappointed on that aspect....

We have had a wonderful experience at Ruhkala. I am most impressed with the teachers and their dedication to the student as an individual. My child will get work sent home that is specialized to their learning level. Thank you Ruhkala staff!
