There’re some wonderful teachers but obviously the principal doesn't care much about supporting the needs of students, and disciplining the bullies. They care more about swiping them under the rugs and pretending things are wonderful. She is not a very good and caring principal.

We were excited to have our children attend Blue Oaks after seeing high reviews. There have been many supportive and lovely teachers here, who my children have felt comfortable with, but there are others who lack the ability to provide a safe and welcoming environment. Some teachers lack empathy or positive encouragement for children, especially for those who need extra help or who are struggling due to their home environment or disability. Also, there is suppose to be a no bullying policy here but there is little to no discipline or repercussion when events occur. The bully will be sent to the office on multiple accounts but never expelled or given detention or any kind of action that differentiates right from wrong. These are children, “bullies”, who need to be looked at closer and investigated on for their protection as well since they are inflicting physical, verbal or sexual assaults on other children that is extremely inappropriate. All of our children are in the hands of educational professionals who have the duty and responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our children. Please encourage your children to talk to you every day about how their day was and to come to you when negative events happen in school. Speak to the principal and the school district, others wise nothing will change or happen. The school’s policies and rules are not held accountable. Also, the school doesn’t have enough funds to provide enough stimulation or creativity for children. Unfortunately, not enough parents or the community donate money for field trips or fun classroom activities to happen as often as they should. There isn’t enough extra help for children with ADHD or other disabilities to provide support and guidance in their education. There are not any sports or after school groups to encourage students to form friendships and experiences. My children did create friendships here and have met inspiring and loving teacher and staff so that is why I will give the school 3 stars.

This school is lacks discipline as there are bullies and the principle is hands off. The teacher/principle does not inform parents on what is happening so if your child goes to this school, please let he/she know to tell you if anything happens that feels wrong as you will not hear it from the school.

Regarding the curriculum, it is a hit or miss depending on the teacher. My child has had excellent teachers who were involved and would provide excellent communication. On the flip side, I have experienced teachers that are completely hands off with absolutely NO communication. I feel that teacher is just waiting to retire.

Would I recommend this school? Yes, as some teachers are great. However, the principle needs to address how bullies are handled. It should not be a swept under the rug.

With no recent reviews, I feel compelled to chime in. I have a daughter that has attended 2nd-5th and another one that has done K and 1st so far. All teachers have been spectacular-they are easy to approach and my children say every year that that year is the best. Academically, they’ve both developed a strong love for reading and, although Math is not their favorite, they both have shown a lot of growth in the subject. I also appreciate the incorporation of STEAM into every day lessons.

We love Blue Oaks. The staff is very dedicated and works hard to meet the needs of each student. There is a strong sense of community thanks to the large family involvement. Blue Oaks also has numerous activities for students to participate in after school.

We thought this would be a good school however our experience states otherwise. There is no community feeling there. The principal is very one sided. Lots of bullying. The teachers lack any type of respect for the parents and the students. The teachers are lazy as well. They depend fully on volunteers to do their job for which they get paid for such as stapling, making copies, etc. they do not follow district or school rules for everyone. I do not recommend this school at all. Perhaps a whole new staff could make it better. The office staff are very rude to everyone as well.

Best School in Roseville! We spent 3 years with our kids an another Roseville school - never felt at home, never thrilled with the principal & so we decided to transfer to Blue Oaks. Best decision we've made! We couldn't be happier with the entire experience! Love the staff, love the families, great kids, amazing programs. My daughter went from disliking & struggling with reading at our last school, to reading every spare moment of the day! She now LOVES to learn thanks to her outstanding teacher! Top notch! Will be sad when the kids move on from Blue Oaks because it's just that great. Love Principal Murphy, he is spectacular!
