I went to Fresno Christian Schools and honestly it’s not what it tries to be at all.

They love to talk about being a Christian school but the environment doesn’t really reflect that. Bullying is a real problem there and a lot of the time it feels like nobody in charge actually does anything about it. If you’re not part of the right group or you don’t fit in you can get treated pretty badly and it just gets brushed off. What makes it worse is the hypocrisy. They push all these values about kindness faith and character but a lot of people there don’t act that way at all and it doesn’t seem like leadership really enforces it. It ends up feeling more like a label than something they actually live by. On top of that it’s really expensive for what you get. Families are paying a ton in tuition plus constant fundraising and it makes you wonder where that money is even going. The campus itself isn’t anything special and they don’t even fully own it they operate out of Peoples Church. For how much money comes in you’d expect better facilities or at least some real improvements over time. Overall it just doesn’t live up to what it claims to be. As a student, I've been in a lot of the classes at this school. Each teacher takes a different approach to homework in their classes. I appreciate that the teachers are understanding of the time (or lack of time) that students have to do homework on a day to day basis, and their willingness to work with students to allow them to understand what they are doing.

The teachers at this school are some of the most genuine, kind, loving people I have ever met. Everyone on this campus has a desire for every student to succeed in life, and to grow closer in their faith through everything they do. The teachers do a great job of teaching the things that are necessary for school, all while implementing biblical elements into their curriculum.

The school uses lots of different programs, classes and activities to grow students in their faith, and in responsibility and character. If any students here are lacking in character and respect, it is from their own ignorance and lack of desire to make any good out of their life.

The administration at this school does a great job leading this school in a positive direction. Running a private, Christian school is not an easy thing, but they do it well and with genuine hearts towards wanting to serve students. There is a good balance of progressive ideas to keep the school relevant along with strong leadership in the present.

Being that it's a smaller school, there is limited resources available for special needs students. But with what they have, special needs students are welcomed and given additional support for the different needs they have.

I have never been a victim of bullying, and with what I've seen, any bullying on campus is effectively taken care of.

Fantastic school with great teachers and administration. With the small class sizes and intimate student climate, every student has opportunities to succeed and find their passions in a variety of ways. Responding to the negative comments below, I see all of these complaints as irrational and without true proof of any real issue of the school. All of the issues that people are expressing are issues that have to deal more with lack of good parenting and responsibility. That being said, this school is not for everyone. One can get the most out of being a student here by embracing the great things that the school has to offer. I see some students holding themselves back by not wanting to find anything to enjoy and get out of their school experience.

this school needs to heterogenous group of students in a given class, this will allow certain students to develop their potentials and not be stagnant because this school has tolerated parents to switch their children to which teacher they prefer to belong. Hope this will be corrected!!!

A few of the students have these qualities, but most of them don't listen to the teachers or respect each other. The school isn't a family; it's about who is part of the majority. If you different and part of the minority, you won't feel welcome in the school, like no student talking to you, or not being accepted into friend groups.

Whoever is the leader is the one who has the most friends. Students make biased decisions on who is the student body president; they base their votes on popularity rather than good character.

Almost all classes there learn at a certain pace. If you are above or below the certain pace, there are no other classes you can take to match the pace. But if you were asking a different question, the answer is still no. People who have ADHD or autism or any kind of learning disability are part of the minority, so they're usually not accepted by the majority of students, but a few are nice and will be their friend.

I have not really any personal experience with bullying, but if bullying occurs, FCS gets rid of it very strictly. If some incident happens, FCS makes a new rule for everyone else to follow, even though only one or two people were involved in it. So in other words, FCS deals with bullying, but a little too strictly.

The music department is terrible. The band is combined with all junior high and high school students, but only had like 15 people in 2017-2018. No one practices their instruments. No one pays attention to articulation, accidentals, rhythm, dynamics, or any sort of thing. Everyone just does their own thing. Some of the players don't even know if they're in tune or not. If there is a problem with the band's playing, we never fix it, because we never pay attention to it. It takes over four months just to get the notes down on a simple 2-3 page tune. There is also no orchestra of any kind. There is just a band, choir, and a women's ensemble. There are lots of bad things in this school, but I'm running out of time, and that's what I wanted to cover. If you're into music, don't go to this school.

To me, this school doesn't effectively deal with anything. It's an unprofessional environment and teachers talk about other student's grades and issues OPENLY. Some teachers primarily send kids home with piles of work due the very next day. Study guides, essays, ETC. I wouldn't recommend this school to anybody and only keep my kids here because they wouldn't be able to readapt to the real world as this school teaches them nothing. Only that the "Lord will protect you." The Lord protects us but he can't get us a job. (But apparently they can't give new teachers a job either)

It's all homework, my kids just comes home with piles of it. Certain classes do nothing but give it.

Though they have one or two good ones, I won't name the names but they do exist and trust me I thank the Lord himself for them. Some of them don't teach anything. They rely on videos or home work handouts of things they never even taught. Their teachers are more like baby sitters and just sit there and tell the kids to be quiet.

They don't prep kids for the world and openly pick favorites. This brings up narcissistic and rude students that feel entitled to things.

They teach one way, but that isn't how kids learn. Kids learn differently but the teachers aren't paid enough to be able to help those kids.

When a 'bully' is targeting other students they just call them to the office and tell them it's ungodly to bully other kids. The kid being bullied typically will get into trouble as a pose to the bully.

FCS has huge head start on bullying because there simply aren't that many bullies at school. (Students legitimately love each other.) However, staff members do effectively deal with any bullying problems that do arise.

Fresno Christian truly feels like a family. New students quickly make friends, even if they didn't at other schools. The teachers and staff practice what they preach. I was shocked when I read the other negative reviews, because I know for a fact that 90 percent of parents and students would disagree. All in all, I love FCS, and I'm so grateful that I get to be part of such a loving, supportive family. (Also, the sports and other activities at FCS are excellent.)

Homework isn't given out robotically. Most homework given directly relates to what is being taught in said class.

Every teacher I've had since kindergarten has striven to make personal connections with the entire class. I have never experienced/seen racism, insensitivity or the like by teachers or staff. Also, many teachers work at FCS for ten years or longer, and develop effective strategies. All in all, teachers are professional and effective.

Every aspect of FCS is Christ-centered. All of the students that I know (which is a good majority of students) clearly show the above traits, in addition to love, discernment, faith, and encouragement. FCS teaches the Caleb Code, which means Speak Truth, Speak Life, Love Others.

Administration is well connected and informed with student and parent opinion. Every staff member acts in a Christlike manner.

Don't let the school name fool you. Its all about the money at Fresno Christian. If you have plenty of it you will love going there. Otherwise it's going to be miserable.

Too many family members are involved in runnng the school. Everyone is related to everyone, not easy to be on the outside. Have their share of student problems, but they look the other way. State they have great test scores but never posted.

I love FCS... I'm a very involved parent and my son has been attending since K.. He is dedicated and continues to be obiedent during school, and homework. He has made a lot of friends since K, but sadly his best friends couldn't stay.. I'm pleased in the teachers, my son, and their dedication to each of the students in helping everyone learn more and more about christ.. No public school would ever offer this, not even prayer.. What my son is learning will carry him for a lifetime. I have read past reviews and feel very sad; if students are ot doing well, it' not on the teachers, the PARENTS NEED to take a active force, stay dedicated to helping their child/ren learn and inhance their academics.. When we fail, THEY WILL FAIL... Consistency is the key parents, tough love, and your own dedication to helping your own kids, and NOT GIVING UP ON THEM - GOD DOESN'T YOU SHOULD'NT EITHER... Single parent for my son...
