THIS IS THE WORST SCHOOOL EVER THE YARD DUTIES TOOK OUR SOCCER BALL AWAY WHEN WE STARTED PLAYING BECAUSE SOMEONE TOOK THEIR SHOES OFF THIS IS A JOKE AND THE TEACHERS ARE ALSO SUPER LAZY THEY DO NOT CARE YOU CANNOT RETAKE ANY TESTS BECAUSE THEY HAVE LUNCH TIME AND IF YOU REALLY WANT TO TAKE A TEST OR RETAKE YOU HAVE TO WRITE DOW YOUR OWN QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AND GET 50 PERCENT LESS POINTS THIS SCHOOL IS REALLY A JOKEEE DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOLL THERE ARE ALSO A BUNCH OF SPECIAL ADE STUDENTS THAT SCREAM IN CLASSROOMS SOMETIMES EVEN FIGHT TEACHER AND THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT ITT!!!!!!!!!!

Multiple years there and constantly horrible. HIGH turnover of staff.
They are NOT supportive for IEP's its just a form and that is it don't expect the help!
The school does not follow its own policy and you can't get help

I have been at this school for about 5 years, and many teachers are unfair/\. See I laugh a lot and my 5th-grade teacher always thinks I'm talking and distracting people. It's their fault for talking not my fault for laughing. Classrooms are mid-size I would reccomde coming here for elemmarty but not middle school. The kids are chaotic and fun unless you get on their wrong side.

This school is aweful! I'm contemplating getting a lawyer and actually suing this school. They do NOT care about your children and DO NOT care about child safety. This school is a joke.

Engaged, friendly, and hardworking teachers. Admin has been very professional in dealing with any issues that I've brought up. Plenty parent involvement and good sense of community. My kids are very happy there.

Too much turnover. My 6th grader has been there since kinder. The school has had 4 different principals during that time.

The teachers do not inspire the students to want to learn. A large majority of the teachers are relatively new to teaching and there seems to be a fair amount of turnover (teachers leaving for higher paying positions in other districts). The teachers don't seem to really care whether the kids are learning. So far experience has been with K thru 6th grade. Teachers in K thru 2 were excellent. Communication between teachers and parents is poor in middle school.

K thru 2nd grade was really good. 3rd grade is when the teacher they got started to make a big difference. Only got worse from there. I have a 6th grader now and want to get him into a better school before he totally loses interest in school and learning. Teachers have threatened a strike during two out of the last three years. The current 6th grade cohort has been short shrifted three years in a row now in terms of their academics. 4th grade, teacher strike threats, also their teacher gave up on the kids and cancelled all projects. 5th grade they switched math curriculum half way through the year and the teachers didnt' have training in the new curriculum and did a very poor job because they didn't know how to teach the curriculum. 6th grade is when they start switching classrooms and having multiple teachers. Again another strike threat situation during the first few months of school. Also, had a sub in math for a month at the beginning of the year who didn't know how to teach math, and then they had a series of subs in science for the entire 2nd semester, and all have been unqualified, so no testing or homework for the whole semester. Ridiculous!

The teachers (only have experience with K through 2 so far) are very involved and generally great communicators with the parents via weekly newsletters, direct emails and periodic meetings. I always received prompt responses from our teachers, even after school hours. Homework assignments (packets) are created by each grade level group of teachers and maintain consistency throughout each classroom. This is much better when compared to the other schools in the district! As an involved parent in my kids (3) education, I'm proud of Stonegate.

I went to this school for kindergarten they had nice teachers .My child had two kinder teachers that would switch days to teach .only problem is yard duty people if you don't like working with kids don't work there .

This is a great school. All of my past daughters teacher remember her by name. The teachers have gone above and beyond in teaching my daughter and her classmates. I am very impressed with the entire staff of Stonegate Elementary School. They have also consistently been teaching the kids how to write cursive!!! As outlined in the state parameters for what the children are taught based upon their grade level...... We have found the more involved you are as a parent in the school and your childs education the better the results are, but then again that is just common sense...

I dont like this school. My kid has been crying all day because of these girls who love to make fun of people. I went and talked to the vice principal but still this is out of control! I will make my daughter go to bridgeway all these girls need to stop!

Some teachers spend whole periods goofing off with the classes. Some teachers provide information that is simply wrong, use the class for a soapbox for bizarre world views on controversial subjects, and show horrific movies with often foul language. The school is locked down, not open after school to play, and few activities. Principles yell at older siblings waiting across the street to pick up kids. Police search bags of all students when a phone is stolen, violating rights without even informing parents. Parents must sign many meaningless papers each week and give teachers personal information. Students don't learn how to write cursive. The dress code with colors prohibited is intended to deter gangs - of K-8 students? The security alarm code is discussed loudly for all to hear in the front office. The list of problems and mis-administration goes on and on. Stonegate compares very unfavorably to other schools seen in Yolo County. On initial view it looked OK but after giving it time we are very sorry to have no real alternatives. Parent involvement is a relatively high point.

Before my son started to attending this school last year, I did my homework and researched the test scores, attendance records, student body size, and current and future plans for the school. My husband and I met with the principal and found him to be open to dialogue and feedback from parents. We are both very pleased with the school so far, understanding that this is our son's first year there, and opinion's can change. The principal and vice-principal are actively engaged with the students and the parents. All the student's are used to seeing them regularly out on campus, and in the classroom. I have only wonderful things to say regarding my son's kindergarten teacher as well. Also, the principal and vice-principal hold a monthly principal-parent coffee to discuss concerns, and upcoming issues and new things occurring regarding the school. We feel very good about having chosen this school for our child.
