This high school is more than we asked for. This is a high performance high school in Fresno. We love the high expectations the school has for its students .

Have had both of my children attend this school. One has special needs and has received excellent support, he's improved tremendously as a result of caring teachers and counselors. My other is an exemplary student who loved being on their excellent swim team and has had great experiences both with opportunities for advanced classes, both honors and a dual-credit class where she gained college credit that was accepted by her university of choice. Their counselors and teachers are top notch. We receive conferences via zoom quarterly and all of our students' teachers as well as their coordinating counselor is involved in the half-hour meetings. One of my kids is a senior about to graduate, and they helped the other with her preparation and transfer to a university. My kids neither experienced nor witnessed bullying, which was a concern of mine as I did in the district I attended and have worked in. This school has certainly earned it's 10/10 rating, I can't imagine why it has any of the poor reviews it's received, my only guess is that the reviewers have no experience with the lower performing schools we have.

So far so good. No issues or complaints. My son attends this school he is currently a freshman.

I have had 3 children attend this school. It is most certainly not for any student that struggles. There is no follow through from the teachers with children that need a little extra attention . The statements by others about athletes being protected is true and this is confirmed by my own experiences. We took our last 2 children out of this school and they are at a much better place in their academic careers. I would not recommend this school unless you have a large amount of money to pledge to the Boosters.

Students that tarnish their data are pushed out of the school. Utilization of evidence based practices to ensure equitable learning experiences is not a way of doing business. Charter schools in the surrounding areas are doing their best to support the students pushed out due to learning differences. Public schools are funded for ALL, and that is not happening.

I would not recommend this school if your child struggles with school. I’m not sure if it was because of zoom this past year but teachers became very lazy. Lots of bullying with students and a lot of clicks! My child struggled to find friends here since we moved. I read all the reviews and 100% agree with all the bad reviews! Nice campus but too bad they only care about the kids that matter. If you are debating about schools in Clovis go to Buchanan High School!

My son was harassed by students, teachers, and administration for being a LGBT+ student. Not only did they belittle and argue with him, they also broke a multitude of federal and state laws that require the school to recognize and respect his gender identity. I will never recommend this school to anyone unless they are rich, straight, cis, and white otherwise your student will not be accepted or respected. Biggest regret of my life.

I moved to Clovis and spend 100K more for buying housing only for the reason of educating kids in great school as Fugman, Granite Rodge and CN. Amazing track records proves more competitiveness. SWIM Team is great and teachers are really qualified. My kids always do the homework and read most of the times after their regular exercise and play times. They are enjoying school and feeling competitiveness. Good teacher and easy to communicate when needed for counseling for any issue of kids. 5 STAR out of 5!!!!

Clovis North is the epitome of factory farming, meat processing approach to education, a boondoggle of top heavy administration where students are a mere afterthought. There's serious miscommunication between departments and offices. You need a masters degree in engineering and an FBI wall chart of head shots to navigate the bureaucracy of administrators, deputy administrators, assistant administrators, administrator directors, their personal assistants, secretaries and receptionists. There's a pervasive sense of corporate culture among the administration, except without the accountability to shareholders. Meanwhile, students are taught McEducation style, no individual assessment or personal attention, even lesson planning, curriculum, homework and grading is determined by administrators called learning directors. With 3,000+ students, they're not preparing the ivy league bound. Students are taught in huge classes, some rivaling collage size, where they're drilled on unimaginative rote memorization. The test scores are a product of zoning from the area with the highest socio-economic status in the district, not the quality of this industrial complex of a "school".

Very clean campus and remarkable location.The school has many welcoming staff, they always keep their heads up and greet their students. Homework is overly excessive depending on your classes. The high school history teachers are hilarious and fun, the rest are so and so. Teaching methods are all planned out during meetings. Students CAN be a little stuck-up but that's basically every highschool out there.They're too strict not on dress code but mainly your attendances, they WILL bug you and threaten to suspend you until your parent is able to clear them. At one point in the nurses office I needed to call to go home and rest but one of the nurses were too concerned about my grades rather than my insides being in PAIN. I had to beg them for me to call my parent because they wouldn't let me go home to rest. They get TOO involved with your personal life, they'll reach out to students' entire family and friends if they can to find just one answer. It's a school that'll look nice on your records, but you also face some hardships during your time there. Pros: Welcoming staff, "ok" education, clean facility. Cons: Strict on dress code/absences, too concerned about grades than well being.

Clovis Unified district policy for HS students: A student who wishes to graduate early (either at mid-year or one year early) must petition for prior administrative approval. Mid-Year graduates will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony or end of the year senior activities. So, if a student wants to participate in their graduation ceremony they must attend school with a min.of 4 classes, but if they're ahead credits then classes must be filled w/electives that are non-required, which is punishment for being ahead credits. My niece moved to Fresno & attends Clovis North HS. She was told that to fill her schedule with electives or finish early, except she forfeits her right to come back to attend the year end graduation ceremony. She was made aware of this option when she asked why elective classes were being pushed on her. Ridiculous! And my niece has straight As this year! Now she has no choice but to continue going to this school and taking unneccesary classes, or finish now since she completed everything and forfeit her graduation ceremony. I complained to Norm Anderson at the school district, he refused to do anything about this matter, that CUSD put in place.

As parents of students who transferred from nationally "top" ranked schools in the Bay Area, we have been delighted with the quality of teaching, the friendliness of the kids, the attractiveness of the campus and the shared positive attitude of staff, faculty, administration, kids and parents. The chioce of electives is less broad than in our old district, and I wish there were more robust studio art, but the choir and drama programs are top notch! I have to disagree with the previous poster about rote learning; as a parent I have emphasized creative thinking and I have not seen my kids penalized for it. Kudos to principal Scott Dille for creating an environment that attracts fabulous teachers to an amazing team that leads to a wonderful learning environment. Dress code is clear and makes for a calmer school atmosphere - time to experiment outside of school, focus on learning in school. No school is perfect, and no school is a great fit for every kid, but this school really seems to work hard to be an excellent school for a wide variety of kids. They have to be ready and willing to work hard and put their best effort forward, and I believe they will get a lot out of it.

Considered one of the best but probably only because they have high grades (GPA) due to their teachers programming them with constant repetition of problems or material and then testing them on that. I have had the opportunity to tutor some students from there. In math they lack creativity or the ability to comprehend how to solve a problem from any other perspective than the one shown to them. Their math teachers give them formulas and simply tell them to plug it in and repeat. In a situation where a problem in the textbook varies slightly the student is stuck with no idea how to solve it. The writing assignments are terrible. Students are given a broad topic, which should be a good thing, but the teacher only wants one product and anything differing from what they want is graded down. Their chemistry courses are a joke with teachers who confuse students with mind-numbing procedures that do not explain the reason why they do what they do. Conversions from moles to mass and such have no meaning just memorized processes with given formulas. Kids are set to succeed at their high school but fail in college and real life. Sad.

After reading some of the reviews, I almost feel like I am living on a different planet and we're not talking about the same school that my kids have been attending. I am amazed at the management and facilities offered by the school. I am grateful that the kids get to attend the school. Slowly, and steadily, they have risen from being average to being above average and star quality. Their home environment, of course, contributes, but the school makes a significant difference. Its teamwork, in my opinion. They COULD NOT have done any better anywhere else. I'm immensely thankful, and grateful to the management and teaching staff of Granite Ridge, and CNEC for creating this masterpiece.

Awful Awful Awful, can't say it enough. If you truly want your child to enjoy school don't send them to Clovis North. Bad teachers and bad staff, harassing kids over trivial issues. If your child has a disability I would recommend Charter School as CN thinks their too good for children that need a little help. Uneducated staff and teachers!

This school has a very nice campus that is easy to figure out once you know the layout. NEVER let your kid sign up for the lunch/PE combo! It was exhausting for my student who tried it and was forced to finish it out the rest of the year. You have to figure out what activity you are going to do and commit to it by around end of 7th to beginning of 8th grade be it: sports, band, drama, choir, etc. because once your student commits to too much the schedules will conflict. My students are doing the aquatic program and it rocks! There are major cliques at this school, but the social experiences can be huge in them creating their own world and figuring out who they are. It is what it is! There are a few wild hairs in there as far as teachers go. A few of them are a snore or wackos. Stay on top of zangle/grades! We've had some crucial errors! I took away a star because I wish there were more fine arts outlets at this school and in the district. The homework load and responsibility is an adjustment for any student that's iffy at times. Despite the adversities and obstacles my student has done well and found some nice friends.We are proud to be Broncos!
