It was a good school but some teachers have diffrent moods and are different but thats normal but at this school kids would bring alcohol and things to smoke and kids do it all the time and the school knows it but so far as long as u stay away from the negativity and stay with positive and good side of teachers than u should be fine just dont get mixed into trouble because your most likely to get into a fight and since its 7th to 8th there are big kids and if ur small u definitely don't want to get stirred up in trouble and drama..well thats all i gotta say but the teachers are nice and great and same to some kids..

Not enough supervision in the locker room or in the classrooms.

There was no counseling offered to my child to try to get them to talk about how they felt or what was going on, but instead only accusations made of their failure academically.

It is all lip service with no back up.

My child was bullied to the point that they no longer wanted to dress down for P. E. Apparently there is no supervision in the locker room.

Because my child was quiet one teacher thought that my child was "a ticking time bomb".

This school did not inspire my child to want to be successful.

The staff has no control over their student body. The kids are out of control. If you can do anything to keep you child from attending this school, do it!

My daughter is in the 8th grade this year, and yes there have been some struggles, but the staff is always ready to help, from Colonel Samuel Harris, who is the proud principal on down, I have developed a great relationship with this school, despite the major cuts and staff reductions, MLKTA continues to carry on! They have many great programs, Gearup (college readiness program) PIQUE (Parent institute) After School tutoring program, Football, Volleyball, Basketball and there are many opportunities for families to get involved, all you have to do is show up! We are looking forward to graduation in June 2011!!!
