After being in this school for 3 years, I have many negative things to say. Number one being it’s really hard to make friends. More than half of the school struggles with English and the school isn’t diverse AT ALL. Some teachers struggle to teach the students or focus on every student because half the class doesn’t understand English well (they’re all new comers from Russia/Ukraine due to the war). Being a senior here and seeing all my friends graduate early (thanks to AI) or leave the school because it’s so bad (last year the school was at its lowest of students) is really hard. And knowing all the people there since freshmen year, and knowing that they aren’t the best people makes everything worse. And since half the school is new comers from russia/ukraine, most students are racist and homophobic (I’ve seen many cases of bullying that was never reported, and I don’t want to be included). Overall if your white, Christian, Slavic, and want your child to just cheat through school, this is perfect!

School review

Our son was a student at Future’s high school until early this year. We had to enroll to home school due to major incident that happened early this semester. Another student who bullied our son several times knocked out our son’s teeth and broke his jaw during the game of pickleball, he threw a pad directly into his mouth casing a serious injury which he didn’t even care about. The first person who came to help was a custodian with paper towel, we were notified and my wife quickly rushed to the school, the principal Mr Luevano decided to prioritize signing early dismissal form instead of taking our son to the hospital, this took away a valuable time which could’ve saved our son’s tooth which was lost during the injury. The video footage of the incident was reviewed by very limited number of people including principal and few people from school district who quickly named it an accident and decided not to show us the video of an actual incident. Later we learnt that student who caused the injury never had a disciplinary conversation with principal and being proud of what he did. We received a fake apology letter four months later which most likely was generated by AI. We also had to fight to see a video of an actual event because incorrect video was sent to insurance where there is no evidence of the incident at all. We were trying to schedule meeting with the protocol Mr Luevano but we’re being ignored by him. In the past several months we lied to numerous times, the video revealed proof of intentional injury by another strident and does not match with police report or statements which were collected from other students. The damage caused to our son is very serious and may take up to three years with numerous surgeries and treatments before he will be able to live normal life. We will continue to fight for our son no matter how far we will have to go.

As I enter another school year here at Futures, I have witnessed the dedication and resilience from fellow staff members, students, and their families. There are some struggles and areas for improvement, but I believe that as long as we strive to be better than the past, we have the potential to become Sacramento's best school. It will take years of hard work, consistency, patience, and understanding to reach that dream. To all of my students and their families, former and current, I appreciate the experience you have given me. I have learned so much from my time here and I am eager to learn more. My Slavic kids teach me new words in their language along with my Muslim kids. I practice my Spanish with my Hispanic kids and I work hard to strengthen all of my students and their English Literacy skills. Teachers and Staff team up monthly to support students with learning differences. My coworkers and I share and learn from each other to implement new strategies to make our content relatable and attainable to all scholars of all backgrounds. With hard work and dedication from staff, students, and members of our community, if we team up, we can dream up anything. Love you all, go out in the world and make good choices.

The school is very bad. For 4 years of studying there the school hasn't changed. And there's too many smokers in that school

Small school but has great community and unity.

I went to this school a few years ago. It is a great school that helps students connect with almost everyone there. However it lacks basic needs for a high school such as a science lab, a stage, AP classes, college prep, and career prep that give students hands on experiences with jobs. Nice school though, the staff is welcoming and kind.

This school is ridiculous. Went to enroll my son however staff does not speak English well at all and are very rude! Walked out of the school frustrated and disappointed. I have not ever felt so uncomfortable especially from a school where people send their kids.
