This school has been a GOD send after we had some issues at the local large public school. The school size is perfect, the kids are not just a number that gets lost. It really has a home grown feel but the education is amazing. The teachers really DO care about each and every student. The admin. is very receptive to parents input. The kids actually are kind to each other ! It has been such a delight and we have now sent our younger child here as well. They really have something special here :).

This school creates a healthy enviroment for many different races as well a religion. Most teachers are effective, but my child has complained about a teacher that seem tho "like" overworking him and doled out projects and punishments like cop giving out speeding tickets on the highway.

They do understand that after 7 hours at school, homework should not take precedence over activities and family time.

Placer Academy has been a wonderful school from humble beginnings with a forward-looking vision. Knowledgeable and committed teachers provided the framework for success, however, lack of diversity within the staff in terms of a variety of cultural backgrounds including the integration of male influences in the classroom and administration have derailed fulfilling their original vision. A pervasive and somewhat bureaucratic parent/staff culture has emerged within the past two years that has eroded the integrity of the school. Nineteen 5 star reviews is bias and withholds critical information from parents who clearly are looking for guidance and the reason they come to reputable sites like GreatSchools.

School district appears to be driven as much by parent input as by regulation. Governance Council is forward thinking, productive, informed. Administration is open, direct, focused and diligent. Teachers are dedicated to differentiated instruction, set high expectations for students and then follow through with support to meet the expectations. The parent involvement is expected but also genuinely welcomed. The families whose children attend this school are motivated, engaged and effective on behalf of all of the students. No school is perfect but every challenge results in innovation at Harvest Ridge Placer Academy.

Transferred over here from public school in roseville. I was very unhappy with the teachers treating parents as if they were a problem and decided to move forward with this school. BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE!! 1st grade teacher, mrs Emerson and 3rd grade Mrs Green are incredible! They are organized, have high expectations of their students, & provide opportunity for the kids to excell. They truly care about the children and are willing to look outside of the box to help their children succeed ... This school does not give you grief when you take a trip and travel with family because they allow the child an opportunity to stay on top of their work with independent study for those days out. Most importantly my very unhappy child who is well behaved and quiet , suffered last year because of a deep frustration and discouragement with the teachers specifically said " I will never go back to that school ! I didn't know I could enjoy school and my teacher so much that I look forward to coming to school"

We found this school after bad experience at a east Roseville school and it has been the answer to prayers. This school is night at day from what we had before! Small school with involved parents and amazing teachers. The independent study intimidated me but it has been really wonderful having the extra time as a family, day off from the world and hands on to my child learning. We are in this school for the long haul and hope they decide to extend all the way to high school!

Harvest Ridge is the perfect school for my children. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and amazing. The hands-on projects are the best way for them to learn. The curriculum is rich in history, science, and art. I love the feeling of friendship and community that exists at this school!

Individualized attention, small school feel, outstanding instruction by caring teachers! Love this school and so do our kids!

Small class size and hands on learning make the school an amazing experience for your child. Individual learning plans help the child excel and feel that their education matters to the teacher and the parent. Great community with collaboration between parents and teachers. What stands out most for me as a parent is the emphasis isn't just on education but on the character of the individuals who attend. Kindness is the norm and great character is recognized and rewarded.

This school has great teachers, engaging and challenging curriculum, and a community of parents and staff that all want the best for our kids. We are so fortunate to have the option of being able to choose this school for our family!

My kids love to learn are are excited to go to school every day! We came to this school three years ago because my now fifth grader was struggling in his class. The smaller class sizes and curriculum have helped him learn and enjoy school.

A small group of passionate individuals comprising of parents, teachers, support staff and administration, who consistently deliver educational excellence! My middle school child is learning how to give back to his community while learning at his level, with advanced focus where he is able and specific tutoring where he is weaker. This school has a unique sense of community with active parental participation and superior educator focus! The biggest high-five is that my son loves it!

Placer Academy offers everything we want for our children: hands-on, challenging and engaging curriculum, small class sizes, individualized instruction, dedicated staff, involved parents, a focus on the whole child and character development, and a small community feel. Since making the move, our daughter has been happier, more successful, and more engaged in her learning than ever before. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a change.

I love this school! The middle school students are challenged and encouraged to excel. The classes can only go to 24 students so each teacher really knows the students. That is amazing for middle school! The kids are nice to each other, no girl drama, which is refreshing after our last school. The kids feel safe and cared for at Placer Academy. So glad we found you!

The school represents all that we imagine as parents for our children. An amazing group of teachers and administrators that genuinely care about their students and love their jobs. I have heard on more than one occasion a teacher say that they have their dream job. My 1st grade son loves to go to school and looks forward to Monday every weekend. This school is full of kids that I want my child around which is saying a lot for most schools these days. My son did a presentation in Kindergarten for the whole school and it warmed my heart to see 6th and 7th graders asking him questions and showing patience and compassion for my little one. There is no other place I would want my son to be.

Family atmosphere in a small school with exceptional teachers and curriculum to help children learn and grow in a supportive environment of diversity.

I am a parent of two students at Harvest Ridge Placer Academy. I could not be happier with the school. The teachers are great and the community they have built and maintained is outstanding. The curriculum is great and they do a great job pushing the kids to exceed. I wish the school had a bigger outdoor facility for the kids but other than that everything is great. The 4 day a week (5th day is Independent Study) is a great model and our kids love this school.
