Your school is run embarrassingly poorly. I was stuck in my car waiting to pick up my child for an hour because of a false fire alarm.
If you thought there was a fire emergency you should have moved the children out to the street. If you thought it was a false alarm, you should have ignored it. Instead, you guys just bunched the kids up against the school ( that was theoretically on fire) and trapped all the parents in their cars near that dangerous situation as well.
Your system for picking up children is the most inefficient system I could possibly imagine. I could not possibly be worse.
Do you know how long it took me to pick up my kids at their former elementary? One second. Not hours.
Their previous school also had afterschool available to everyone. Not some idiotic lottery system.
If i am to assume that the rest of your institution is run as poorly as the small parts that I have seen from the periphery, then I have made a huge mistake sending my children to that school.

as someone who has gone to this school for six years and has just left to go to public school this school is not for children who do not fit into "the box" if your child struggles with anything in school DO NOT send them to John Adams, This is not a school that will be willing or happy to help your child this is a school that teaches the material and you get it and succeed or you don't and you fail. when i first started at John Adams at the old Lincoln campus it was very small and overall was great the teachers were excellent the staff was great, and it all felt like one big family. but after the moved over to the new campus everything went downhill very fast one main problem with this school is the fact that they enforce the 10 core values very heavily to everyone BUT the teacher's, staff, and adman, or that's at least what it felt like to me and most of the kids that went there. one other problem i have with this school
is the kid there don't get me wrong a lot of the kids are great here i have meet some great friends at this school but the bad really does outweigh the good there is a lot of racism at this school that i have experienced and a lot of my friends at my school have experienced from my knowledge the racism is a very present at all John Adams locations from what i have heard from kids who have gone to other locations. this school focuses to much on the little things like dress code or being a "servant leader" all of the admins and stuck up and snooty do your child a favor and DO NOT send them to this school!

Inexperienced teachers, inept leadership, they state they have 10 core values that the students should follow but the staff and administrators dont follow them themselves. VERY do as I say not as I do. Its like a Christian school disguised as a public school.

We love this school. JAA LINCOLN has been great for our kids. They teach kids to think not just memorize to test. We need to raise thinkers and this school does that.

John Adams Academies is a charter school with a focus on American history and philosophy. There is also an emphasis on classical texts (mostly in the older grades). The school teaches scholars their 10 Core Values from an early age (see their website). They are still held to state standards and teach within the framework of common core (all accredited schools are required to). The school has a fantastic group of eager teachers. The teachers tend to average younger than most public schools presumably because the school is so new. Music, Art, Library and Physical Education are apart of the curriculum for all grade levels which adds to a well rounded education. The athletic program consists of basketball, volleyball, and soccer for both boys and girls. The school also has band, choir and theater for older grades. The school is great at parent communication through ParentSquare, frequently updating parents on school and classroom events. The Parent Service Organization also plays a significant role at the school, often organizing many of the campus events. Volunteer hours for PSO are required but before you let that deter you, they are reasonable hours and activities can vary from cross walk duty, to writing teacher thank you cards to buying items for school events, etc. The one point of criticism I have for the school is classroom sizes are not smaller than public schools (most class sizes seem to be around 30 students). Unfortunately Charter schools do receive less money from the state than public schools so this may explain class size (also the wait list for the school is long which is another reason class sizes are large). Disciplinary action at the school is in line with the rest of California public schools. Overall the school encourages patriotism (not nationalist ideology) and teaches scholars to appreciate our unique heritage along with personal accountability.

Our experience with teachers here has been very hit or miss. There is a lot of teacher turnover and not always consistency in approach across grades. I love the curriculum but my children both struggled significantly this last year in part because of COVID, but also because of the inconsistency in expectations of various teachers and administrators. It was so rough for one of my students that they refuse to return to this campus.

Very good experience at this school. My son has thrived there. The teachers and staff are absolutely wonderful!
