The PTA got big grants this year to fund fun science experiments and school dances. My kid feels safe and happy at this school.

In elementary school, my son was extremely advanced compared to his peers. He had friends, but he didn't feel particularly connected to school. Mostly, he was bored in elementary school. I have been pleasantly surprised that he has been excelling at Los Arboles. There have been many days where he comes home excited about learning something at school. He's loves learning in science, doing the National History Day project for social studies, and actually learning math due to being placed in the advanced math class. The music program is decent with band, orchestra, and choir, and he's gotten to go on several field trips including a trip his English class took to see a play. He feels far more connected to school than he ever did in elementary school, in part because of the number of active clubs the school has including drama club, and the LGBTQ club.
If you're kid is advanced, and you're worried about them falling behind because of the school's test scores, don't be. My son has continued to improve academically because of differentiated instruction that the teachers provide. Also, the counselor is very familiar with concurrent enrollment, and can help guide you through the process of getting your child enrolled in college classes while in middle school. Sometimes statistics don't tell the whole story. This school is worth looking at.

I really like going to school here! There are some pros and cons though. I can tell that the people here are learning at a slower rate, and the kids arent the best either. They are talking a lot during classes and some are cheating. Some kids dont say the best things either. Some teachers do have trouble with disciplining some students, and it can get a bit rowdy in classes.
A lot of teachers Ive had were great, they are really nice. I have really good friends here! The staff are LGBTQ+ friendly, there are a handful of students who support as well. But there are also a handful who are homophobic and transphobic, so I would be careful with who you tell. Also you can use your phone during breaks and lunch. Some teachers let you use your phones in class too. Besides the cons, I really love going here. My mental health has been improving a lot!

Completely ineffective in all ways. Disorganized and the kids run wild. Teachers have no control in their classrooms and appear to have given up due to the lack of support and discipline for disruptive behavior.
