Isla Vista Elementary is the reason why we still live in Santa Barbara. My child (now in fourth grade) loves the school and his friends so much that we're stuck paying extraorbitant rent even if I can now work remote and we could live anywhere. The learning environment and afterschool are great, they have a lot of events for kids. The class sizes are small and allow enough guidance per student. My experience with my son's teachers has been that they are communicative and work with us over the ADHD issues without being punitive or demanding. As a result, he consistently performs above 90 percentile on state tests, even despite being an ADHD kid. They have a system where they rotate the kids every year so two friends cannot stay together, and initially I thought it was a poor idea, but turns out that it has actually enabled him to make more friends.

Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten teachers are fabulous. My kid absolutely loved Mrs Sparre from TK and Mrs. Takahara from kindergarten; they're just both really smart and intuitive, and present strong and transparent behavioral expectations.

They have a very dedicated team to help kids with learning differences. The kindergarten teacher that my special needs daughter had was amazingly inclusive and compassionate.

The experience of sending my daughters to this school has been amazing. The principal and staff of IVES are completely dedicated and involved in the kids learning process. It was hard for my kids to leave this school when we moved from California but the qualities and lessons they have learned from this school is worth appreciating.forever grateful to this school as a parent.

My son has a great experience in this school. It has incredible leadership, infrastructure, and teachers. My son and I think IV elementary school is the best school in Goleta.

Isla Vista is a blessing in disguise. My child is in kindergarten and has enjoyed her experience since day 1. As a parent volunteer, I've been able to witness what happens during the day and interact with the students. We have a great team of teachers that truly enjoy what they do.
