It has been awhile since my kids attended LaHonda but my youngest went there through all of her elementary years. We had some issues her first two years but resolved them and by her third year everything was great.

Both of my children have attended this school. The principal is no longer Nancy Hardy, but Ms.Gail Hines, who I have discovered, TRULY CARES about the students as well-rounded, growing individuals with individual thoughts and feelings. There is a thriving Student Council, and a new this school year Conflict Resolution Program, with Peer Counselors. Every teacher my kids have had has been AMAZING!

This school is blessed with a wonderful, caring staff and a Principal who care so much for the students. The students know that their teachers and principal care for them and want them to succeed. They struggle financially, and are expected to produce miracles happen from nothing. This is a title I school, which means that most students qualify to receive free or reduced school meals. So not only is the school poor, so is the majority of the children that attend. Which leads to parent participation, most of these families have two working parents, which does not allow them to participate as much as they would like. We need more money, for technology and staff to be better able to support the children's needs.
