In my opinion, Alvin Elementary does an excellent job in the difficult circumstances inherent with poor neighborhoods.

A whole school year has gone by, and I have yet to meet the principal. Only the VP.. Where is this lady hiding?

I have a son in the third grade. His day consist of two subjects, Language arts and math. But yet they preach teach our kids to be college bound. Just forget science, social studies, and history, they are not important..

I would strongly suggest that if you really care about your childs' education, that you seek out other schools. This school is horrible. Out of 100% of kids tested only 20% are passing both English and math.
