lot of parent involvement which is good but communication could certainly be better. Perhaps they can utilize communication tools to communicate with parents that would be very helpful. Did not notice much bullying kids seem to be very sorted. But the school doesn't embrace acceptance that well my child felt singled out, no one wanted to be friends with my kid because they are different - but kids weren't mean about that differentiation, all the kids were very nice about it segregating my child so that is nice of them - even though they made my child feel isolated they did so kindly - so I at least appreciate that. The previous principal was not good. The new principal is amazing! New principal is also very involved which I find really good. New principal also sweeps things under the rug but at least they always have a smile on their face and are welcoming which I very much appreciate! I think kids will thrive here. It's no different than how regular public schools are, but they are kind about everything they do and they do it with big smiles and lots of fun so that is really nice

The new principal and current administration is absolutely horrible. If you have a problem, good luck getting it addressed. Most of the kids are performing at below grade level so if your kid is at level or above they are bored and expected to help their peers. Kids who clearly need services and extra help are bribed with rewards to be good while kids who are being good arent even acknowledged. Zero tolerance means NOTHING here as they dont believe in suspension and instead just take away recess. The school is constantly harping on parents about attendance when the 7:50 start time and sickness is clearly the issue. Sick kids are sent back to class unless they have a fever over 100 or vomit in class only to spread it further. Subs are hard to find for them so they will send in office staff to do it who are clearly not qualified to be in the classroom. The only saving grace for this school is the amazing teachers who give their 100% and are stuck dealing with a principal who is in over their head.

We are in the know about their assignments, the class webpages are VERY helpful!

They stay in touch with families weekly through a variety of media. They care about our children and are quick to let us know about their successes while at school.

The core values at the school are clear cut and supported by classroom and school-wide content. There is a focus each week on characteristics that our children should aspire to uphold and we agree with them!

Although the principal is new, she is backed by a VP that is very experienced. Ms. Ball is not afraid to dive in and find out how things are working and helps out wherever there is a need - she is even the crossing guard to keep the kids safe and holler out a good morning to their families! She will make this school bloom!!

I have seen first hand varied approaches for my kids and other kids in the class to find what works for them to help them learn. Its amazing!

I feel that staff supports the students for this. While there may be some room for improvement, they do address concerns that come up from my experience. My son who has been bullied at a previous school feels much safer at Blue Oak and loves being here.

We are so very fortunate to have moved both of our boys to this school. At their previous school, they were just having a difficult time getting on track or staying in tune with what was going on in the class with teachers headed for retirement track at their old school. So glad to see great communication and teachers that motivate their students!

This is a great school for the whole family. It's a mixture of teachers (good and bad) and Im a very "hands on" parent and Mr. Stewart the principle's open door policy is great. If you have any comments or concerns you can go straight to Principle Stewart and he'll fight for your side. I've moved my child 4 times within the grades and Blue Oak is always accomidating. We tried the Montessori on campus for a couple months and it wasn't a good fit for my son and they allowed him to transition back into traditional. If you want to be in the drivers seat as a parent this is the place for you!

Blue Oak is the best! The teachers and staff are amazing. The principal could not be beat...a great leader and example for all. The choices available at the school are all top-notch! The education at Blue Oak far surpasses the standard requirements. They learn SO much more, even about how to treat others. LOVE this school.

Blue Oak is a wonderful school! They really make each student feel special and important. They go out of their way to try to keep parents informed of their students progress as well as school activities. I recommend this school to everyone!

Blue Oak is a really great academic environment. The principal is a visionary and has really made a huge difference. The teachers are motivated and seem to love their jobs which motivates and enables the kids. Nothing but positives from me!!!
