Extremely disappointed with this school. It feels like certain families are being unfairly targeted, especially those from lower-income backgrounds. The school has consistently shown a lack of understanding and support, and this experience has left a negative impression. Would not recommend this school to others.

Family engagement!! A truly community. Passionate teachers. Bellevue is truly a special place!! Garden, field trips, morning assembly. And the school leadership, the Governing Board and the PTO - arr the best too.

I was a parent at Bellevue for 6 years. I was lucky enough to be a part of an amazing school that was a community of people working together to encourage curiosity and individuality in our kids. The opportunities were endless because the school was run as a community where parents were included in their childs learning and most of them chose to put effort into building learning experiences that far surpassed most elementary schools. A few years ago a new principal took over and everything went downhill. The school was transformed into a uniformed, policy driven nightmare run by someone that lacks compassion or almost any human emotion. If you have a problem with something she will label you as a trouble maker. Volunteers stopped being valued and the bureaucracy of it all drove them away. The principal is more concerned with writing off liability and forming a perfectly uniformed school than she is with the wellbeing of the children under her authority. Parent concerns are regularly ignored. It is hard to believe she managed to turn such a warm and welcoming place into a cold and harsh institution. Bellevue is known as an amazing school because of what it was in the past, not what it is today. I hope this review helps parents understand that this is now your average district school at best.

the school has a few excellent teachers left. It seems they have less of a say in things than the should though.

The principal that took over a few years ago has dismantled what was once an amazing school. She suffers from complete lack of compassion.

This school truly cares about their children, when I say "their children", each teacher cares and learns about each student at that school even they know every kid, in every class, by name. The way they approach teaching and interacting is nothing like I have ever seen before. I give this school and the teachers at 10/10.

BSFCS is the right school for our kids. If you ask them which school they prefer (they started out at our neighborhood school, which is also excellent) they will tell you they prefer BSFCS because the lunch food is a lot better. From our point of view, other strengths include: Small class size, dedicated and caring teachers who really get to know your child and what makes them feel inspired and parent-assisted enrichment programs. This program would not be as successful if not for the leadership of Brian Getz, a very involved principal, whose dedication to a supportive and effective educational environment lays the foundation for everyone to build on. Parental involvement is also a big component of the school's success. For our kids, their 6th grade year is bittersweet since they love their teacher so much, but it is, alas, their last year...So grateful for this school and everyone we have gotten to know there. A special commendation for teachers Kevin Ainsworth and JoEd Sennes... VERY special people, indeed!
