Marina Village Middle school is amazing! The staff are super nice and there are many great extracurriculars like Battle of the Books and Spelling Bee! The library is also amazing- the librarian, Ms. Kimberly, really fosters the kids' learning and reading!

Marina Village has vastly improved over the past several years under the leadership of Principal Levi Cambridge. Our experience has been nothing but great and I would recommend it to any middle schooler.

I hear so many kids complaining of the same thing. Being picked on. Left out. In eighth grade they finally make an attempt at “breaking down walls”, but why are they waiting till eighth grade? This school starts with 6th. Why doesn’t anyone else see the problems with the cruelty these kids inflict on each other? Why are the teachers encouraging exclusion?

The kids are so unkind to each other. The lunch situation has kids telling others they cannot sit at their table with them. Kids are alienated and it’s continued in classrooms/pe with teachers having kids buddy up with their friends, while other kids are consistently left out. It encourages division and unkindness between children.

My second child is currently attending Marina Village and is having a wonderful experience. Marina has a positive school climate with caring administrators and teachers. My older daughter had a positive experience at Marina that prepared her well for high school.

This is the third child that I have had at Marina Village, and unfortunately things just are not improving. The poor new Administration is stuck with a bunch of burnt out teachers who are tenured and and have really bad attitudes towards the students and the parents! Too many bad things to list, it's just a shame there are still schools out there in the public like this who are influencing our kids.

My 2nd child is now attending Marina Village. She is enjoying 6th grade & thriving! Her current teachers are very experienced & challenging their students. Principal Tapanes is a top-notch "doer" in his approach to education. In his 2 1/2 years, he has brought the much needed technology to all 3 grade levels. He is "Bridging the gap" between elementary school & high school. Also, many teachers have received additional technology training and have implemented the day to day use of technology into their classrooms. Dedicated laptops and/or Chrome Books are in each classroom for student use.

We have had a horrible experience with Marina Village Middle School. Instead of encouraging students, the teachers are constantly tearing them down. The teachers in question have bad reputations for the way they treat students and sadly, history repeats itself, year after year. So sad that my other children have to attend this middle school.

This school has absolutely no regard for the children that attend it every morning. Many teachers have tenure and will not teach the children, but instead try to be their friend. My daughter comes home every day with little to no homework and it is very suspicious, as 8th grade when I was in school was full of homework, yet her grades stay fine... Don't waste your time people, the "distinguished school" isn't really with it.

We have been very pleased overall with Marina Village. The administration has been very positive, communicative and proactive with moving forward with technology and educational programs for the parents and students. We feel MOST of the teachers are very committed to challenging the students academically and making their learning experience positive. This school is definitely looking to raise the bar with their technology in order to better prepare their students for high school.

SO incredibly disappointed with Marina. Teachers are "tenured" so they have no accountability to respond to parents emails or to offer any help to a struggling child. We moved from the Bay Area with such high hopes and feel completely let down by the teachers and staff at Marina. Now looking for a middle school that does want parent participation.

Ohana, a family place where more than academics are tuaght & role-modeled. Marina has a group of outstanding teachers whom are very knowledgable, professional and approachable.. The majority of the student body consists of we'll mannered, well behaved 6-8 graders. I have personally watch many of these children grow up, followed them from kindergarten on, and volunteered in their classrooms. Working together, teachers, students and parents, I truly believe Marina Village is one of the best schools in Northern California. Risa Marshall

We had to switch into Rescue District this past year after being in Buckeye since my son was in Kindergarten. I was apprehensive about the switch in districts as we really, really loved Buckeye. I have to say, though, we have been blown away by Marina Village Middle School. The principal and the staff have set a tone that is very inclusive and communicative. My son is thriving at Marina and the teachers have challenged him and encouraged him. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience thus far. We're proud to be a part of such an excellent school.
