Clark is definitely a school, there are really kind kids and little staff members who are nice and actually try to understand their students. I was stalked for 4-5 months before staff did anything about it. This kid took pictures of me (that the staff/parents didn't delete) followed me around, saying inappropriate things about me to people he didn't know we're my friends. And they did not inform my parents of the situation until months after. The student services staff is overall terrible they all automatically juge you before you even get to say what happened, they are rude and punish you for things that aren't even your fault. Plus they dont do anything about bullying and let it happen. So I WOULD NOT recommend going here.

Clark intermediate is a mess of a junior high, having good but mostly bad qualities. Good teachers are very rare, many are incompetent of their jobs and biased towards certain types of students. Learning is average, they have excellent honors/advanced courses from what I’ve experienced. With other class experiences, ive heard are very less engaging and boring. Pretty great performing arts and academic teams, although would be better if more money and support was put into them, especially with academic teams. The school environment is the main problem, there’s almost always fights and problems, always being dealt without much effort. Bullying problems are especially bad, according to friends, terrible support for victims especially from admin, terrible “help” from teachers. Speaking of teachers, many are bad. Some teachers just don’t know how to teach the curriculum, many racial inequalities/biases in classrooms, rude teachers, not to mention some very inappropriate and unsettling teachers/staff if u regard a recent scandal with one of their former counselor and seen experiences from myself, though I’ll be fair some staff are very excellent if you’re lucky!!! Sports are very highly regarded and get the most time and effort from the school, many awards and support are given to those in sports. Though all I wish is more support was given to academically well students. Band/choir are especially amazing and great as well, getting money from the school well. All in all, I would say your better off to going to a different junior high, but if it’s your only choice all you can do is think of the positives! And I swear there is many, there are tons of great people to outweigh the bad people, some great teachers, fun classes/experiences, just a chaotic somewhat fun experience:) still sorta happy to start 8 grade lol!

My child never feels a sense of direction or welcome to approach any teacher for guidance. Nor dies my child want me contacting school staff for fear of making matters worst.

Posted: September 4, 2019

My child was victim of bullying several times. Every incident, my child was disciplined instead of the bully. Even when campus surveillance proved my child to be telling the truth. I believe these bullies have patents in high positions or relations to school staff. Many good kids are changed for worst at this school. They aren't safe nor do they feel safe reaching out to teachers for help.

There are hw assignments. Kids work hard at school, I too agree he isn't necessary everyday.

Posted: September 4, 2019

The teachers do not want to deal with kids issues. First reaction is to send child to office. 98% of the staff is judging the child before giving him/her a chance.

Posted: September 4, 2019

The kids seem to be free to do whatever they want and for some reason, no one notices wrong doing unless its a targeted kid.

I've never felt so powerless in dealing with my child's school as I did with Clark. Sad part is, they get away with it.

It has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The administration are bullies especially Teresa Barber. She has the worst communication skills and for some reason hates men.

It isn't the best school whatsoever. Everyone that I've talked to said that that thought this was a bad school also. Students steal ( way to much ) and Teachers are way too hard on kids. I know they are preparing us for High School and the real world but I think it could be done in a more effective way. The teaching isn't that good either, most classes don't even give homework or study time.

As a former student at this school, I had a good experience with this school, but there were some things that could've been changed or fixed throughout the year. The school was boring at times when we were supposed to have fun and everything was serious because our school was failing. Half of the students at this school have developed enough to be considered teens while the other half have not fully developed yet into teens. Even though their appearance changed, their personality and actions stay the same as if they were in elementary. People grow older, but that doesn't always mean they grow up. I hope the principle will be able to make next year better than the previous.

Child pick up arrangements are horrible. I highly recommend getting someone to assist with the traffic coming in & out of the driveway while picking up our kids.

Posted: April 5, 2017

Not effective. They have no tools other then suspension for discipline. They suspend students at the drop of a dime which explains why admin does not have time to walk classrooms. Behavior is handled with a one size fits all attitude and they take no part in restorative justice. If kids can't learn how to cope under social pressures in junior high, then where? Leadership is not effective at this school.

Posted: April 5, 2017

I don't have special needs students so cant comment.

Posted: April 5, 2017

Suspension, always suspension. Not sure how victims are supported.

Posted: April 5, 2017

I've encountered one or two. Teachers don't show up to work without good intentions, but they have been proven slow in making new shifts for the 21st century classroom. The instructional leadership is weak. Teachers seem very set in ways. Some newer teachers seem to offer more to their students by way of technology integration.

Posted: April 5, 2017

Maybe, but I haven't seen evidence of social-emotional learning opportunities.

Posted: April 5, 2017

There is no homework; there are no work samples or feedback on writing. There is evidence of tests and the occasional AB project that is the token Social Studies assignment.

Posted: April 5, 2017

I've had a difficult time communicating with admin. They are nice, but they are not trained to handle complex issues. I rate this middle school a 2. Classes lack rigor. No honors program, and limited strategies for discipline.

Great school ,the best education for junior high

Posted: April 24, 2011

The school, I believe is overall excellent. The students are kind, and they do not discriminate against the children w/ disabilities.

Posted: March 31, 2011

I believe Clark discriminates agains students with disabilities. I have contacted Sacramento to investigate. I am not happy with this.
