Like any school, there are some great teachers who really care, and some who don't. There are A LOT of great teachers at Rio Mesa.

My daughter has grown so much in her years at Rio Mesa. There have been a lot of bumps along the way and the teachers always handle situations in a way that the kids can learn from their choices.

Fantastic counselors, assistant principals and the principal himself is exceptional. They make all the difference, for everyone on campus. They make a point of getting to know each student.

Rio Mesa has a place for everyone. Kids I know who need help are getting it for the first time in their lives as students at Rio Mesa.

I'm SO happy my daughter is at Rio Mesa. She's found her academic passion, thanks to some very supportive teachers and counselor. It's been a great experience for our whole family.

This school is all talk and no action. The people that the students are supposed to look up to are terrible role models. The office people especially are very rude. There is no integrity. There is no compassion. There is no respect. You would think that the people answering the phones would be nice at least.

The leadership could definitely be improved. The school is trying to look better without actually trying to be better.

If a student is falling behind, they just push them down to the lower level classes and don't care. They only help one student so that that student can make the school look better, but wouldn't it be better if the majority did well?

Teachers assist in bullying. They don't listen to the full story and just hear what they want. They help the bullies and let them continue.

If your child is interested in advanced courses, the teachers are exceptional. If your child is interested in the IB Diploma, this is one of two schools in the county that offer it (Newbury High being the second). Rio Mesa has also been named as having one of the best athletic programs. Don't overlook this school purely on API scores as the mix of students bring the number down. We have 3 children who have attended this school.
