Teachers overshare their personal lives with students. Issues never got resolved until I stepped in. The principal is just about impossible to get a hold of. Always seem to be a lack of communication.

My child attended this school for 7 years and I have been very happy with his educational experience. The leadership is caring but firm. The teachers and staff have all been very knowledgeable and compassionate and the other students have been everyday average kids. Were there days my child got in trouble? Of course, but the Weldon staff always handled things with an equitable but fair consequence. Was there times that my child needed academic or behavioral interventions? Yes, and they were always ready with an opportunity to help them grow.
I am very pleased with the education and experiences that my child got at Weldon.

As a student now leaving Weldon after 5 years I have many memorable experiences attending Weldon. School homework really depends on the teachers, Ive gotten teachers who would give me a ton of homework. Meanwhile other teachers would give me very few or none. Teachers are helpful and reliable, but I recommend you as a parent or legal guardian to teach your children to respect all teachers so your son(s) or daughter(s) have a good connection with the teachers. Leadership at Weldon is pretty strong! Character at Weldon is always taught at a young age, the most discussed topic at Weldon is Character so I know that character will not be an issue. Learning differences is kind of like a roller-coaster. Some teachers separate both struggling students and advanced students. At first that might sound unnecessary or mean to separate both struggling and advanced students to some parents, but trust me when they do that it helps kids go their own pace. Bullying is somewhat taken care of, I say that because there are some bullying incidents that kids get away with but in other cases the school takes care of the bullying. Do I recommend this school? I would say yes and no because its not the best school out there but also it is definitely not the worst.

All of my kids have went to Weldon and two of them are still going to this school,I can say every teacher that I have encountered has been awesome.I have never been at a school where you know every teacher and staff. The school is small enough for you to experience this.Miss Deanna is in the office and she is the most caring person you'll ever meet. The school principal is also very nice and caring.I would not move from this district untill my last two are done at Weldon. If your looking for a great school in Clovis,Weldon is the best.Go Warriors.

As a teacher at Weldon, I feel that it is my responsibility to let parents know that their children are being subjected to derogatory statements, belittling, rude comments, and a negative attitude by the lunch monitors at this school. We as teachers should be able to make a difference but unfortunately it is the parents who are the only ones who can really change this injustice to our students. If more of you would speak out then we could stop this. If any of you are reading this, keep a watchful eye during lunch time this year and stay on top of trying to make a better lunch experience for the kids!

I'm glad that more teachers are choosing to speak out against the treatment of the students by the lunch monitors and GIS. With school just a few weeks away from starting I feel like we as teachers should warn parents that while Weldon is an awesome school, it does have major problems that need to be fixed. Sometimes when I leave my class to go to lunch, I can already hear the lunch monitors yelling and talking down to the kids. I have spoken to the lunch monitors myself about this and they just don't seem to care at all. I think that the parents need to speak up an understand that they are the ones who can fix this.
