St Anthonys is a wonderful school. It has the atmosphere of a smaller school and focuses on the whole child, not just academics. Faith and values are important to the staff and there is a ton of parental involvement. My child feels happy there and is growing academically and as a person. Any behavior issues are dealt with right away.

My chief purpose for this review is to clarify issues raised by reviewers who did and did not recommend the school. SAS is a pretty typical Catholic private school aiming for excellence. In that regard, there are a number of after-school programs and electives, or at least there will be. The school is arranged around a dual-class system, with two classes per grade. Class assignments are made prior to STAR testing and in-class evaluations. There are also new students with no prior assessments placed in each class. Administrators monitor student dynamics. They also seem open to discussing class assignments and evals with parents. From what I've observed at community meetings, the main complaint about the system is that student friendships might be enervated if, for example, friends receive different class assignments. I think previous commenters have indicated as much, so I won't go through it. There are established Fresno families with multiple generations at the school and a small number possibly have a certain degree of "influence." The "influence" likely manifests itself in myriad ways, not excluding latent parent anxiety and mostly stemming from prior leadership positions in various school mechanisms and groups. In-house and external donations are of course important, but I have yet to encounter any detrimental impact to admin decisions or student evaluations. Athletics and school spirit are strong, at least for a presecondary institution. My child participated in an SAS sport, but regularly trains for other sports elsewhere. Someone asked my opinion about the school, so I told the person that if they wanted to switch to public schools, I would first attempt an outside assessment from a pro learning center, university early child educational program, and so on (pulled their kid, so obviously didn't favor my two cents). SAS enrollment reportedly continues to rise, despite the aforementioned pull. That's it.

Have two daughters at this school since 2022, we are blessed to have found this school. The teachers and staff are loving and caring and ensure the children succeed. We are grateful for their dedication. The sense of community and camaraderie at this school is amazing! We love SAS.

I find it laughable when I read some of the comments regarding how some they think Saint Anthonys is so awful. Our daughter has attended Saint Anthonys since kindergarten. The thriving, supportive, moral compass, and strong Christian values have helped my child find a home for prosperity. There are many teachers at the school who care about the growth of the children in the classroom. There are no corners cut and the children are expected to achieve specific academic standards. The demographics of the school are the furthest thing away from being a child daycare facility. That we find in many of the public schools. We are interested in having our child involved in school with like-minded parents that take their childrens education seriously without the public school misfits. There are very few negative influences within the student social structures and strong Christian values are taught and are a cornerstone of development. Woke parents will not agree with this since they want to push their Them They agenda! If you are looking for a safe, secure, supportive, learning environment for your children, I would strongly suggest , Saint Anthonys.

The school as a whole is a disappointment, its the worst experience in the Central Valley. The amount of uncredentialed teachers is simply sad. The school does not take higher learning seriously, they hire anyone off the street who can stand up to teach. Any parent looking for higher education should not be ok with their learn as they go teaching philosophy. Teachers learn as your students learn, should not happen in any private school. The administration is a carousel of individuals much like some of their lower grade teachers of inexperienced low education individuals. The school has zero direction, its obvious that the issue is teacher/admin pay for why they cant get qualified educated teachers, principal and vice principals. They need new leadership to guide their sinking ship. Anyone with half a brain would raise tuition, give teachers and faculty the pay required to bring the best talent to St Anthonys School. Their preschool is filled with young teachers who were answering phones last year. Again no real experience with education. Most parents are blinded by their own ignorance and simply turn a blind eye to the glaring issues at the school.

The principal treats the children and parents terribly! We have tried on several occasions to communicate with her and she never responds. This school has lost its scene of community and lacks the support of families completely.

I regret sending my child to this school. Probably the worst school in the diocese. The upper grade kids were never taught how to have respect and be mature from their parents at early stages in life. In many cases the parents seem to be the same way. The academics are a grade level behind a public school. The school says its for maturity reasons.. do your homework before sending your children here.

My children have been going there for almost 5 years. It is a good school. It's not perfect, no school is perfect. Yes there's some snobby people , and you may encounter a non-perfect teacher but I have realized through this Covid pandemic that my kids are at the best school they can be. School never stopped for them. The teachers and staff created a google classroom alternative from March 2020-May 2020. They closed the school for just 2 days and used a weekend to develop a new google classroom instruction alternative for the 2019/2020 school year.

For the 2020/2021 school year they started school instruction via google classroom but opened to in person instruction in October. Now, they attend in person, class all day, all grades since October 2020! What public school has this? I am amazed at the staff and school teachers. I saw that this school was not fairly represented her and needed to provide my feedback.

I have been going to this school since kindergarten and i am fed up with it! there is a lot of drama mainly in 7th grade. Up until 5th grade everything was smooth. I lost all my friends, since they moved. The grades are split up into 2 classes. on average 36 students. the problem is you dont combine classes. So if youre bestfriend is placed in the other class, youll have to deal with it since you can only hang out with them at recess.
also it can be hard to make friends here since there are not much options. Everyone has their group, therefore it can be hard. The cliques are set so that will make it especially hard.

I am a former student from years ago. If you want your child to attend St. Anthony's I strongly recommend starting them from Kindergarten on. I came in the 7th grade and all the cliques had been formed already. I was bullied relentlessly and the principal did absolutely nothing about it. Horrible experience.

I work in public education yet send my child to this school. Excellent staff who care about children. My child has had six quality years at St. Anthony's and has made friends and connections for life.
