The campus is very nice and the staff are doing their best amidst a decaying society.

Substance abuse is rampant among student population and the staff does next to nothing about it. I constantly see students high or drunk and there's no repercussions. There's constant violence between students but there's nothing done about it. I've known several people that have been harrased by other students but counselors and teachers could care less. The staff does nothing about teachers discriminating against students or choosing favorites. Any "rules" the school has to counter violence or substance abuse are rarely enforced. The learning at this school is an absolute joke. Classes are extremely easy and its nearly impossible to fail. Even then if you manage to fail you can make up the credits within a couple days so there's no point in trying. The pathways are a joke as well. There are no relevant certifications received from taking them. All that being said Hoover is only good for underachieving students who need an easy streamlined way to get a degree. The classes are impossible to fail not to mention substance abuse, harassment and violence are accepted with open arms by the staff. We are essentially a glorfied credit recovery school. If your higher achieving and have a glimmer of hope in your future or just don't want to experience violence and harassment leave Hoover immediately and go somewhere with people that actually care.

My experience at this school is very weird rounded the students are doing but the teachers except Mrs. Perez. Some of the teachers have issues that they need to resolve. The students however, are amazing and they are learning what they can.
