When my oldest child was preparing for school, I toured nine different schoolsincluding public, charter, and private options. As an educator myself, I was incredibly thorough in this search; I knew this was one of the most significant decisions I would make for my childrens formative years.
The moment I stepped onto the All Saints Day School campus, I knew it was a special place. Beyond the outstanding facilities and beautiful grounds, there is a level of commitment and authenticity among the faculty that is truly rare. Now in our seventh year with three children at All Saints, I can say that the community feels like a second family, built on meaningful traditions and a spirit of service.
Our children are thriving as well-rounded, conscientious scholars, artists, and scientists. I feel deeply fortunate to have found an environment that nurtures every facet of their development, from the stage to the art studio.

This is our sons 4th year at All Saints. On his first day of preschool, the head of school greeted him by name at the curb. I was astounded. And with each passing year, I am increasingly impressed by the candor, compassion, communication, and genuine care we have experienced across every corner of the All Saints campus. Children are truly seen, known, SAFE, and challenged to rise to the best of themselves.

We are grateful to have found a school that shares our values and whole-child learning model, which values social, character, and spiritual development as much as academic rigor. We have watched, in awe, as our son and students at each grade level learn to be kind, compassionate, and responsible citizens. We feel so extremely lucky to remain a part of the ASDS family.

We have been at All Saints Day School for five years, starting in Preschool, and it has been a wonderful experience for our family. We have two daughters who truly enjoy going to school each day. The teachers and administrative staff are supportive, engaged, and genuinely care about the success of each child. There is a strong system in place to ensure students are supported academically and emotionally in the classroom.

All Saints offers a true sense of communitynot just for the children, but for parents as well. Parent involvement is high, and while there are social circles, there is truly a place for everyone. If you are looking for a school that feels like a community, this is it.

As a parent at All Saints, I feel incredibly grateful for the environment my children are learning and growing in each day. I also have the unique perspective of being a teacher at the school, which allows me to see firsthand how deeply All Saints lives its mission. The school is truly welcoming, respectful, and inclusive, and every child is known and valued for who they are. The curriculum and teaching consistently reflect the belief that each student has inherent worth, along with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

When I first toured All Saints, I was pregnant with my first child, and I knew right away that this was a special school. Now, years later, I have three children at the school, ranging from first grade through middle school, and every year we have been so pleased with the quality of care and education our children have received.

One of the things I love most is how the whole community comes together. Morning chapel is a meaningful part of school life and brings the entire school community together, creating a shared sense of connection and care. There is also a strong sense of support throughout the school, and children feel cared for emotionally as well as academically.

The outreach program is another aspect I deeply value, as it teaches students the importance of service, empathy, and caring for others. I also truly appreciate the relationships within this community, the dedication of the faculty and staff, and the warmth and support of the parent community.
There is something truly special about All Saints. In a world that can sometimes feel chaotic, this school feels like a safe haven where children are loved, challenged, and encouraged to grow into their best selves.

It is our daughter's first year at All Saints this year, and our experience has been better than we even imagined. The faculty, students, and other families have been so welcoming. We have noticed how our daughter's personality has just blossomed. She loves going to school everyday and is so proud of how much she is learning. In addition to the academic rigor, we really appreciate how character development and community connection is woven into their every day through school-wide gatherings such as chapel, songfest, fall festival fundraiser, the "buddies program" and more. We can't imagine sending our kids anywhere else!

We came to All Saints from another local school. We weren't even planning on leaving our child's former school, but after we toured, we fell in love with the space, the warm feeling from the staff and the arts programming. We have been very happy since. Our child made more gains in a year than we expected. She wasn't treated as perfect, either. All Saints teachers have kept her accountable to her best self- academically and behaviorally. It is a very nurturing environment with lots of community engagement.

We have been part of the All Saints community for over 10 years, and it has been the greatest gift for our family. What stands out most isnt just the academic rigor, but the way the school helps children discover who they are and how they learn. Our kids aren't even in high school yet, but they already possess a self-awareness and academic confidence that I didn't expect to see until much later. I can say that the 'magic' of the campus is real! If you are looking for a school that prepares your child for life, not just the next grade level, I cannot recommend All Saints enough.

ASDS is family for us, and I am thankful every day that our children come to this school.

My daughters are in elementary and middle school. Each day I see how deeply known and supported they are. My elementary-aged child loves coming to school. Her teachers embrace her spirit, challenge her academically, and encourage her curiosity. She especially loves art and the many opportunities to sing and perform through Chapel and the Performing Arts program.

My middle schooler has been at ASDS for several years now, and her growth has been remarkable. This year alone, shes played on four sports teamsincluding trying two new sportsand performed in a Shakespeare play. Later this year shell have a speaking role in the musical, and next year shell continue her athletic journey while completing a History Day project. She is growing every day into a confident, capable young woman, and the beautiful campus, dedicated teachers, coaches, and students at ASDS are shaping each step of her journey.

Beautiful campus and location, caring faculty and staff. Plenty to get involved in. Our child truly is seen and known here, which goes a long way in fostering confidence, but also comes with the lack of larger student bodies and navigating social circles. Teaching tends to be one way or the highway, but it's an elevated experience and they are getting new, younger teachers so growth is important to them. Athletics could use some work but seem to be improving with a few sports driven coaches (not teachers filling a gap). I would say if your child gets along with others and has no need of support, special education or social/emotional supervision, it's a wonderful place to let a child flourish. Otherwise, there would be better local options.

Wonderful school, exceeds our experience with our prior private school in the Bay Area (which we also were happy with!). Kids are supported, but challenged academically in a way that fosters growth, but not unnecessary stress. Athletics are super fun, arts are amazing, staff are wonderful, and the campus is gorgeous. We are so happy the kids are here and the parent organization has been so welcoming to our family as well.

I cannot say enough good things about this school, both in terms of my daughter's experience as a student as well as my husband's and my experience as parents. When we first visited 5 years ago, I recall hearing the phrase "we meet the students where they are" and that really appealed to us both. Inherent in that is that the faculty and staff must first truly KNOW your child, and that is something that I have been endlessly impressed by; they truly get her. They see her strengths and challenges in equal measure and she has grown so much in these first 4 years at the school. The facilities speak for themselves, as do the test scores and both the academic and personal reputation of the students. I could speak forever about the teachers who are truly passionate and amazing. There is a reason the highest local teacher and head of school honors go to All Saints faculty and staff. We feel genuinely grateful everyday that we get to send our daughter off to such a special place.

We have two children at All Saints, one in TK and one in first grade, and we couldnt be happier with our experience. From the moment our kids step out of the car at drop-off, they are truly seen. Every faculty member knows their name. Even the older students in middle school greet them with smiles and Hi, were so happy to see you! That feeling of belonging is something we value deeply.

Socially, All Saints is incredibly tight-knit for both families and children. As parents, weve made some of our closest friendships here because everyone seems to share similar values: involvement, kindness, and a genuine commitment to their childrens well-being and academics. The students, too, have made wonderful friendships, and you can feel the sense of community everywhere on campus.

Academically, our children amaze us with what theyre learning at just four and six years old, but what sets All Saints apart is its equal focus on character building. Above all else, we want our kids to grow into good humans, and the school puts so much intention into raising kind, thoughtful, confident young people. Its truly special.

The campus is beautiful, the teachers are passionate and deeply caring, and the after-school offerings are fantastic. Our kids love being at school so much that during breaks they ask, How many days until we get to go back? To us, that says everything.

All Saints has created such a joyful, supportive, and enriching experience for our children. We genuinely couldnt imagine being part of any other school. We love, love, love All Saints. Go Saints!

My children have been at ASDS since 2nd and 3rd grade (started the year before COVID). One will be graduating 8th grade this year and my second will be graduating next year. The AS community is a blessing and I love that all the faculty really know my children. My kids love all the open space for exploring and the sports and afterschool activities. Since one of my children is neurodiverse, it has been a little challenging. While the school has employed more specialty teachers over the last couple of years, they are mostly used for the lower school, which hasn't really benefited my child as she is in the upper school. However, the school has worked with us with the resources they have regarding implementing my child's accommodations. I hope that going forward, the school hires even more specialty teachers as children are more neurodiverse these days and don't learn via traditional teaching models. All in all, I couldn't have picked a better school to nurture my children. WE LOVE ALL SAINTS!

We left CUSD and were lucky to be able to enroll both our children at All Saints last year, and we could not be more pleased with our entire family's experience. Despite a pandemic, despite masks, despite parent involvement being limited last year, we feel connected to a truly unique community that sees our children and honors them for exactly who they are while helping them discover who they can become. It is setting a foundation of character and kindness and academic readiness that we know will serve them throughout their lifetimes. We only wish we'd made the move sooner.

This school is simply the best! Of course, the academics are fabulous. But All Saints' offers so much more! From the community engagement to the character education program to the gorgeous campus. My child had the best experience! She is now thriving in high school, not experiencing any of the freshman issues that some kids have. She is prepared, confident, loves learning, and is a happy well-rounded human being. And we credit All Saints' for that!

All Saints has undergone a couple of leadership transitions and each leader brought something different. Our newest Head of School is a natural leader and has brought on a strong assistant head of school. Between the two of them, and a few other leaders, All Saints is growing by leaps and bounds, but what is most notable is the joyful spirit that abounds.

The philosophy at All Saints (as I understand it) around homework is that it should be review and/or work associated with what has already been learned or assigned at school (working on a book report for example). Homework starts off at 15 minutes for the little guys and takes up more time. Now that my son is in 5th grade, homework can take between 10 minutes and an hour, if there is project work.

It would be unreasonable to expect each and every teacher to be amazing, but All Saints definitely has several gifted and talented teachers who go above and beyond in so many different ways. I can't rate the pre-school and Kinder/pre-k teachers but the lower grade and middle school teachers are extremely knowledgeable about their craft, they lead by example in terms of All Saints values, and they bring out the very best in our children

Having gone to all public schools myself, I was skeptical at first about the idea of independent school but I kept hearing about how special All Saints was enough that I finally started paying attention. I'm so glad I did!

The school calls itself extraordinary, and it truly is in every sense of the word. The built in components of the program that other schools consider "extra-curricular", the frequency of exposure and instruction in music, art, science, etc., the opportunities for performing arts- it's all so beyond what other schools offer. And their character education program is truly remarkable and done in an authentic, meaningful and lasting way.

My child is in Preschool and is already receiving Spanish instruction! Most importantly, she is excited to go to school each day, never wants to go home at the end of the day, and is thriving both academically and socially. She loves her teachers and so do we, as it is so apparent how much they love their jobs and their students. She's made friends at all grade levels despite the age range, and we feel connected to the school community on many levels.

Knowing what I know now, I can't believe it took me as long as it did to start peeling back the layers of the standard comments of "why send your kid to private school when Carmel Unified is so good?" The quality of instruction, the level of expectation in regard to behavior, inclusion, kindness and giving back to others... it's just a portion of what makes it so different and so what I want for our children.

It's been an amazing choice for our family, and it's worth every penny.

We've had children at this school for 8 years, and we haven't seen any actual cases of bullying. The school is proactive about addressing social problems as they come up, and working with parents to find solutions.

We sent our preschool son to All Saints' during the 2018/19 school year. Within the first couple weeks of sending him we realized our son was being picked on. We addressed it with the school and they assured us they would take care of it. Around six months into the school year we noticed physical and emotional signs of bullying in our son. We discovered our son was being bullied by the same child, to the point of his head being shoved in the grass. We once again went to the teachers and they told us they would protect our son. Instead, he came home with a physical mark on his forehead from the same child hitting him with a block. We pulled him out of the program and addressed our issues with the head of the school. He suggested we stick it out and admitted since the program is still new they have not come up with a structure for bullying... which is interesting because All Saints' sells itself on having a zero tolerance for bullying. The school tried to convince us that we should continue sending our son since we already paid for it and to wait it out because the child picking on our son will not be returning the following year. We've heard from other staff that this particular kid has been in issue since last summer and the school has never addressed his behavioral problems with his parents, nor have they tried to help this child who clearly needs it.
After this all unraveled it's unbelievable the things we have found out about the school from other families in the area. We are not the only family with similar experiences, in fact we just met a family who pulled their child out of All Saints midyear as well for similar issues! There are a lot better options out there. All of the schools we have been touring for next Fall are appalled hearing our experience at All Saints. As a parent I am writing this in hopes that I can help out another family and spare them from all of this unnecessary drama and heartache! No parent should have to witness their childs spirits crushed or have them go to school in fear.

Both my children are thriving in high school as well as in college because of All Saints'. Not just because of the outstanding academics and ability to manage time effectively. They love to learn, they care deeply about others, and to top it all off they made friends for life! Wonderful place to learn and thrive!

The best gift I could give my children. While the academics are superb, the character education, deeply caring teachers and differentiated learning creates kids who love school and love to learn. From a current parent's perspective, I've seen huge turnover when it comes to who is running the curriculum here. When I say 'huge turnover', I mean three heads of school in the last three years. This, unfortunately, results in the lack of unity among the faculty, staff, and the overall student community.

My true rating, after experiencing some of the best private schooling as a child, would be 'dismal', at best. If your child isn't happy, then where is the true value. We ended up at Carmel Unified and have never looked back - The difference has been amazing with new friends and a much happier child, not to mention the saved tuition now covers many other 'more effective' experiences in his life. I still like the school but think it is a bit lost with its direction and see many children who wish they were somewhere else. Someday, I'm sure this school will find its path, but I'm still glad our time there has expired. My son is enjoying the public option, which is positive, supportive and allows him to grow both socially and academically.

Not very welcoming - Unless you start from pre-school or first grade, good luck with the 'pecking order' and blending in so to speak. While my son grew as an individual over a handful of years, it mostly came from dealing with alienating and 'cliquey' classmates.

This school is known for teaching to the whole child; mind, body and spirit. This is why you can always tell an "All Saints' student". Their confidence, compassion and thoughtfulness always come through. Many schools can teach academics, this school also teaches children to be "good kids", good citizens, too. The Alums do very well in High School and beyond. Great school!

Sending our two children to All Saints' has been a wonderfully rewarding experience for our family and our children. We came to this school because among the private and public schools in the area, it has the best reputation for academics and for preparing their graduates to succeed in high school, college and in life. Both of our children, while very different type students, have thrived at All Saints'. Not only are they well educated, they are also respectful, kind and caring. All Saints' core values and outreach programs underscore the importance of being good citizens as well as good students. The fabulous performing arts and music programs encourage self-confidence in public speaking. Too many layers in the curriculum to articulate here. You should visit the school and see why the current parents & students love the school.

As a parent, we have been at the school for 3 years now. I feel that the location is beautiful. The teachers seem engaged and enthusiastic. The parents are very involved. The curriculum seems to be in alignment with the public school district. The school faults some what in that the principal has not supported the parent organization, the volunteers, or the values of the school sufficiently to keep the community cohesive. Also, there is minimal ethnic diversity. There also seems to be a large number of staff retiring at the same time, which may be coincidental. The class sizes average 22 (so it is about the same as the public school). In summation, I would say that the education is average as compared to the Carmel Unified School District. One main benefit of the school is that it is a small campus as compared to the larger surrounding school campuses.

As both an teacher and a parent, I believe that All Saint s is quite frankly one of the best K-8 school, not just in Monterey County, but all of California. It lives its mission to provide each child the opportunity to develop his or her highest potential to learn, in a nurturing environment of spiritual growth and service to others. All Saints does this through: its academic program which provides a curriculum that is intellectually challenging and inspires a love of learning; its spirit of community that values and honors each student, parent, faculty and staff member; and its outreach program which, since the school s founding over 45 years ago, has been fostering in its students a genuine commitment to caring for others. The All Saints graduate is ready to be successful in high school and in life. What more could one ask?
