Our 2 kids have been going to MBCS for the past 4 years. They’ve had many Godly teachers who cared about their Christian education and character building. The nice thing is that the school is owned, supervised and supported by the adjacent church.

We LOVE Monterey Bay Christian School! Our K teacher, Ms Nauman, is amazing. She uses tailored approach for every student and teaches kids to become strong, committed, and God loving individuals. I see tremendous growth in my daughter’s knowledge, thinking, and desire to learn more. We are blessed to be part of this school where kids are taught “how” to think for themselves and not “what” to think.

I am a parent of a middle school student.
My son is very happy here , he loves coming to school and learning . The School principal Mr Voyce always goes above and beyond for his students.Teachers are always helpful, all the staff here is very dedicated . We are so grateful for this school for this school for the education and the Christian values .Words could not explain how grateful we feel to be a part of this school .

The curriculum for individual students is based on their initial assessment, e.g. if your child is advanced, they will be placed in the appropriate course to match their abilities.

As a Christian school, the staff is much better equipped with dealing with situation Leaving school now that may arise without the restrictions public schools may have. Furthermore, many (if not most) of the children come from homes that, like the school, don’t tolerate such behavior. The school staff quickly and addresses issues that arise on the spot and swiftly deliver the appropriate response in a timely manner.

As a new family to the area, we were very concerned with the public school system and it’s ability to adapt to the educational level of the individual child. Additionally, the Christian-based education offers a more comprehensive approach to education and the values bestowed to our child supplement those being taught at home. MBCS is a great fit for our child for these reasons. Whether your child is above, below or at par, the curriculum design is a great tool to both educate and challenge your child. An entrance assessment was pivotal to placing her at the appropriate performance level rather than pigeon-holing her to the standard education for her grade. It allows your child to get the education that is appropriate to their skill level. The principal and teachers are staunch advocates for their students and all of them truly want to be there. The tuition is very affordable and we’re very happy with our decision to send our children there.

This is one of my most favorite things taught to the children. Character is such a huge part of us and the development starts at such a young age. Beyond being faith based the teachers and parents are helping these kids to be kind humans.

The teachers are wonderful. All of them. They all know your child as well. There was not a day that my child passed a teacher on the campus without them saying hello. The teachers also give your child the opportunity to work at their own pace.

Wonderful. We completed pre-school here at Little Ones and have since completed Kinder. I think this is one of the best choices I have made in re to her schooling is to keep her in a faith based learning environment. I send her to school everyday knowing that she is safe and excelling academically. The academics are outstanding and the classroom size is great. You cant find the one on one in a public school environment.

There is the perfect amount of work for a Kindergarten child. When the packet was turned in there was always more given if wanted. Was nice to not be on overload which meant more family time and outdoor play.

This is one of the primary reasons we selected MBCS. Their academic program is able to assess each student and develop a learning track appropriate for the student. I love the idea of every student working on the same subject but at their level even if the levels are different. My students English class has 4 different groups working at 4 different levels. This allows an opportunity for students that may be ahead to continue progressing and students that are at other levels to continue to progress from their level. I think its a win-win for parents of students academically challenged and academically advanced.

Mr. Voyce, the school principal leads with grace. He is always available to answer questions and is even outside near the car pool drop off in the morning to greet students and parents. Mr. Voyce promptly responds to all emails and is approachable. He manages the staff and students with ease.

Homework is assigned through the Iginita learning system. My student is in the 3rd grade class and the amount of homework is appropriate for her level. I TRULY like the way homework is assigned through the academic portal which removes any question about whether or not the student has homework. Each day, homework is assigned through the Ignitia sytem by 4:00pm except on Fridays when we haven't had any homework assigned. Although there's no homework assigned on Friday's our student works on her Reading Logs (students read 15 minutes per day at home and record insights from their reading) and sometimes prepares for upcoming book reports. Upon completion of this school year, our 3rd grader will have submitted 4 book reports.

One of the reasons the teachers are effective is the class size. The 3rd / 4th grade class (its combined) has 17 students. The student to teacher ratio affords the teachers an opportunity to actually work with each student and to keep track of their progress or areas that they need help with.

One of the ways I believe Monterey Bay Christian School develops strong character is through their annual biblical focus. This school year 2018/2019 the entire student body (K-8) are journeying through Hebrews chapter 11. Every week, students are required to memorize a bible verse from Hebrews chapter 11. When the school year concludes, they will have memorized the entire Hebrews 11. This chapter in the bible is about faith and students are learning about faith from the bible every week. Students are also encouraged to demonstrate compassion and respect...the teachers actually look for students who are demonstrating this quality every week. Once per week during the school chapel session, one student is spotlighted and given the "Thumbs Up" award for being caught doing something great (it could be helping another student, cleaning up a mess, etc).

Excellent! We are almost finished our first school year 2018/2019 with Monterey Bay Christian School and we are very pleased. Since our family moves every 2-3 ears, it's always important for us to choose a school that will continue to build on our students academic foundation while ensuring she's enrolled in a program that evaluates her individual abilities. MBCS enrolls students in a course of instruction based on the individual student and not a "blanket" one size fits all approach based on a students birth date. Principal Voyce is a great leader! I have never seen a principal wear so many hats and do it with grace and pride! Principal Voyce is a parent of two MBCS students, teacher, chapel leader, principal and so much more! He is invested in the future of the school and all its children which is apparent by his dedication and hard work. He is also fun and engaging with the students going so far as to allow his students to shave his head after a school sand castle competition. MBCS leaders creating great leaders!

Classroom sizes are smaller than your average public school class thus giving each student more one on one time with their teacher. All teachers respect each child’s ability and meets them where they are at. At MBCS teachers and parents are partners communicating and working together for each child’s benefit.

Preventing bullying starts by promoting character, respect and integrity thru Christian education. MBCS has No hands off policy which is a strict policy that does not tolerate any wrestling, fighting, hitting, etc of any kind whether kids are playing or not. Bullying is not a problem at MBCS due to promoting a family oriented, Christian based education.

A reasonable amount of homework is provided to my first grader on Monday to be returned on Friday. The homework material is well rounded covering all subjects all while making it fun and rewarding. My child’s math and reading skills have really improved.

At MBCS each student is respectful and compassionate with character and integrity being a key component to Christian School Education. Each student is taught to mentor fellow students by creating relationships during reading buddy mentoring and by doing good deeds for one another. A “Thumbs up”award is given to one child each week after being observed doing a good deed, being kind, respectful or going above and beyond. This positive reinforcement creates a positive learning atmosphere. In addition there is a “hands off” policy that strictly prohibits certain behaviors thus deterring bullying or fighting. MBCS culture promotes peace, love, respect, compassion and integrity.

I Love this school and what it stands for! Teachers are active and engaging. Principal and staff are Very approachable! Faith based and Faith oriented with chapel weekly. The curriculum is challenging But not overly so for the kids learn the material!

MBCS does not send kids home with piles of extra homework. Instead they strive to complete all that is reasonable in school hours, and send home only scraps and leftovers as necessary depending on student pacing. Occasionally there are the long term research projects, etc. and there is general reading time, and memory practice that can be done. But it's refreshing to actually have a school support wholesome home life!

With decades of experience across this staff, it is clear that every teacher at MBCS is hired and retained for their dedication to Christian education, and to their professionalism in working with parents and students to inspire student growth. I have been so blessed to partner over the last two years with this school in raising my two children (5 and 7) for God's glory. It is a great relief to know I have putting them in an environment where my faith and values are shared and taught. As you can see by the older posts-the school was such a Wonderful Christian school that provided a loving environment. It has become the exact opposite of that. We are not opposed to a new curriculum, but it still has to be taught in a safe & loving school. We will be among the many who do not return.

It used to be a good school, with good, caring teachers; but with the current leadership, things changed dramatically. The former principal was forced to "resign" at the beginning of this school year; and they never gave parents an explanation as to why this happened. Next school year, children will be learning through computers, and most of those good teachers will be gone. I don't want my kid seated in front of a computer for six hours a day!!! They never asked parents whether we agreed or not with this new methodology. Big decisions are made without parents' input. Things are taking a turn for the worst. Parents are being misled and deceived. Needless to say, we are NOT coming back next year.

We love MBCS. Our daughter has 1 more year there. Our son two more years. We can see great things happening over the next few years We continue to support the school and be involved. We would be happy to help you so that you make the right decision not only your child but for your family as a whole. God walk with us all as we make difficult decisions daily between if our finances are holding you back and choose the value of nothing is at times nothing. Invest in your kids future as you will get the biggest awesome return We have Our awesome, smart, well mannered, hard working fun kids that we thank God first and MBCS and families had a lot to do with it too ..! Love the Hidalgo Family (Seaside) Monterey area. I have faith stars will move up the ladder more support from parents involvement is a big foundation for success Long story short MBCS is the best choice for us and our kids. Hopefully we can grow with yours too these next years. Even if you are not a Christian to know your child has a constant foundation of what is right OR what is wrong on a daily basis and getting a great education.

I have been @ this school for a number of years now & have seen the school go from good to bad to down right awful! The only reason we stayed was because It was a safer environment & we had already payed tuition by the time it hit rock bottom. Everything from academics to administration & school board is about the worst I have ever encountered! Needless to say we will NOT be returning. There are SO many parents that are unhappy here & the school has gained a very negative reputation. Parent concerns are ignored. My child is now behind the public school kids. They will paint this as the best school when you go for open house & talking to principal BUT believe me it IS NOT!!! They have many teachers that are not credentialed. They have the middle school teachers doing numerous grades subjects each. They keep losing teacher & will hire ANYONE! They charge you $250 for curriculum but take back the texts book the next year & reuse them for the next years kids. They only let them keep the workbooks. They also require 25 points PER PARENT of involvement. If you dont complete that they will charge you $5 per remaining point. This was not disclosed till after I had been signed up.

This school is a blessing to the community. Monterey Bay Christian School is a small school with great academics. The teachers and staff treat the children with love and kindness, but also showing great moral values. Their love for Christ is easily seen thru the way they treat their students and the parents. If looking for a GREAT school you should stop by and check this school out.

Our boys have been at MBCS since PreSchool. One of the best things about MBCS is it's Christian teachers and staff. We have been blessed that our sons are able to grow closer to the Lord as well as receive an awesome education at MBCS. Our oldest son graduated from MBCS 8th grade last year and was well prepared for High School this year. The study habits he learned and education he received were exceptional. Our family is very thankful for MBCS and it's staff.

This school was by far the most amazing school my kids have gone to in seven states. There were only about 50-60 students in the middle school (6, 7 & 8 grade). It was in a lower income neighborhood but the staff there never let those kids out of their sight and invested a great deal into not only their education but their lives in general. My son was in 6th grade there and they were teaching at least high school grade class material. It was very affordable compared to other private schools in the area.
