There is so much supervision that I have never seen a bullying problem. Teachers are on top of problems and talk through conflict resolution.

We love Merryhill Natomas!! I have two children at Merryhill and couldn’t ask for more. The teachers are attentive and send out weekly newsletters with pictures and information on their week. I’ve noticed that the teachers are always available to answer questions about the kids progress. My oldest attended a different private school and also a charter school before we found this campus. Neither school compared to this one. The charter school was a nightmare and my child actually regressed, the teachers at the charter school wouldn’t respond to emails and were only available to talk by appointment. Here my children have a good ratio and the academics are rigorous. My youngest struggled with phonics and has now caught up thanks to her attentive teacher! As a parent, I really love the specialty classes. The children get to attend STREAM (Science lab), Art, Spanish, music, technology and PE. The school has a really great community vibe and you really get a family feel. If you are looking for a great foundation for your child Merryhill Natomas is what you want!

My daughter has been attending Merryhill Millcreek since first grade. She is now in fourth and we love this school!!! The teachers and staff are caring and attentive. I love the principal, Ms. Spalding, she is warm, friendly and is continually finding ways to further enrich the students' educational experience. The school is small and there is a strong sense of community. The fourth grade class size is 16 students. The after-school program is great too! Students have homework time, outdoor play and other activities as well. My daughter always asks for me to pick her up at the very last possible moment. I would highly recommend Merryhill Millcreek to anyone looking for an elementary school. It is located in South Natomas, right off of Truxel Road conveniently near freeways i-5 and 1-80.

My child is in kindergarten at Merryhill Millcreek this year and also went to pre-K last year. When I drop off my child to start her day, I always walk out the door confident that she will have a happy day engaged in learning new things and new skills. Part of this confidence comes from the teachers and staff at Millcreek, they greet my child by name and when she comes home from school she is full of stories about her day that include her classmates, her teacher and the specialty teachers that she spent time with that day. The kindergarten teacher knows my child's particular habits (as she does with all her students!) and has the best techniques for making saying goodbye to mom easy, for staying focused on school work, and for keeping my child engaged with her classmates. Another part is the curriculum at Merryhill School. The focus on STEM (and S.T.E.A.M!) projects and the learning units that carry a theme across multiple subjects -- even at the kindergarten level -- makes a very real impact on my child's education and development. Finally, the "extras" that you notice on a daily basis. Teachers working together to create a special mystery whodunnit for an open house, the music teacher involving all grade levels to create a magical winter musical and parents greeting each other a drop-off and pick-up and stopping to chat and catch up for a minute before heading to work. I have already enrolled my child at Merryhill Millcreek for the next school year and am looking forward to hearing how her day was when I pick her up today.

My child attended this school for 3.5 years. The principal there initially disappeared via management with no notification to families as to why. The vice principal became the principal, which I thought was a good choice at first. It did not turn out to be. She was regularly defensive with every concern brought to her attention by parents. No new vice principal was hired. New teachers came and went, and some specialty class teachers and assistants were not credentialed. The monthly tuition rose significantly every year by at least $50 but the quality never improved as far as resources for the students. The "tech" class was time on the pc workstations which were not very helpful to the students; time was often free play or a guided game. One of the main reasons I looked for a private school was to keep my child away from common core. Merryhill initially did not adopt it, but then did. The reason explained to me: everyone else is. (My child is now at a different private school that prides itself on not blindly adopting these standards.) There are endless fundraisers on top of tuition that exceeds $1K/month which I found tacky. The one great part of this school, the first grade teacher. She loved her students, and did wonderfully under bad management. I highly recommend speaking with other parents of children attending this school before enrolling your child. There are other options available to you and your family that are better in my opinion, like Natomas Christian School.

Merryhill Millcreek advertises individual attention. This is absolutely true for the advanced students. The A, B students are left to hang in the wind. The principle is nice but gives lip service to any issues with teachers. high turnover in staff and students. Some teachers I had were substanderd and had never taught before ore have the credential for teaching. This school is not for any child that needs a bit of extra help. All the work in the hallways are done with the help of parents. I would tour every private school before committing to Merryhill.

My son just finished kindergarten at Merryhill Millcreek, and we are really happy with his experience there, and our experience as parents. We had regular, proactive, and consistent communication from his teacher. The principal at the school now is phenomenal. She's warm, caring, passionate about her work, and exactly the kind of person I want driving my son's educational experience. My son is thriving - he's learned a tremendous amount and he's passionate about trying all of the new things the school offers. Between Mandarin class (extracurricular), piano lessons (extracurricular), spanish, music, art, PE, computers, plenty of time to be active, and a strong academic program - he's never bored and I love the emphasis on global and cultural learning, as well as the drive to STEM education. I guess I just have a lot of good things to say. Even though my son had a tough transition from pre-school to kindergarten, which was hard on all of us at times, he's doing so well now. The school is worth every penny we spend to send him there.

My son is so very happy at Millcreek. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. We could not be happier with our choice. My son also love the healthy lunches served(Goodfellasforkids)!!! We order lunch every day!!

Merryhill is an excellent school. My daughter has attended this school for 3 years and is performing well above grade level. The class sizes are small and the teachers work with kids on an individual basis. Spanish, Art, Music and Computer lab are included. Piano lessons, flag football, soccer, cheerleading, basketball, kickball, study hall and other activities are offered in the after school program.

This school has been wonderful. They keep class size small. They try to make sure that kids who have significant disciplinary problems that cannot be resolved do not detract from the other children's ability to learn and grow. The teachers, principal, and vice principal are wonderful. The teachers go out of their way to make things fun for the kids but always keep learning at the forefront.

I came across with Merryhill when I was desperately looking for a kindergarten class for my son last year. The public school that my son went to didn't do well with him and the principal and teacher added to the discomfort and stress to our family. The principal and the teachers are very well organized and structured. After a few weeks of being enrolled, my son became a "social butterfly" , as what his teacher called him, and very has progressed academically. I also like the before and after school program, they have a lot of fun activities to do and they are very well looked after. I'm so happy I've found this school. My son's self confidence has improved and has been doing well with his academics.

When I received the tour and enrolled my son in the Kindergarten Kickoff program following our recent move to town, I was promised individual attention to each child and teaching based on the child's learning style. My son, who can read and do simple math at age 5, had always loved going to school and was always eager to get up in the morning, but as I noticed more resistance from him, I began to worry. Teachers are inattentive, have little control over their students, and my son, tall for his age, would get blamed when other students tried to push him and bounced off instead. I was also told (by the principal who had never met him) that, while way ahead of the curve cognitively, his handwriting required too much "individual" attention, which they were unwilling to give. Needless to say, my business will go elsewhere.

Our child has attended Merryhill for over a year now. We had pretty low expectations given that 'it's just Pre-K' or Jr Kindergarten as the principal calls it. We were pleasantly surprised and our daughter is now enrolled in Kindergarten. Merryhill made a believer out of us. She actually begs to stay five more minutes at the end of the day. The principal, staff and teachers are very involved.
