After a horrible introduction to TVSD at Big T I took my son to Estes Park where he was bullied for two years by the same kid. In 3rd grade the flood put us in Loveland and he went to Garfield. He was in heaven. He begged to go to BRMS and again he is in heaven. No problems with bullies. (he's small). Likes all his teachers. Grades are improving at a steady if slow pace and he has joined the chess club. When I call, the staff knows exactly who I am and who he is and I have had them check up on his emotional state as well as his conduct and gotten a follow ups. I've asked how I could help him at home and been given good advice. I'm just thrilled with a staff that cares about my kid!

I like the "no homework" strategy. My son is expected to take home any work he does not complete in class and finish it at home. For him, that means he always has a little bit of homework. A little bit is all one exhausted kid needs. He gets up at 5:30 am and he's beat by the time his school day ends.

I'd say most are effective. They certainly try and that matters a lot to me. My son has been in schools where the thought was "oh well his problem not mine". That isn't the attitude here. I get e-mails, calls, suggestions on how to help him. As he has gone from 5th to 7th grade his grades have gone up, not down.

The Exceptional Student (Special Needs) program at this school is a farce. It is a study hall where they complete assignments from other classes. There are no cause and effect relationships explored between their behavior and the real cause.
Physical and mental challenges are not addressed. Counseling services are not offered for these students. Passing grades are given though they are not earned.

This school is like a family. They do so much for their kids and have so many neat opportunities for kids to be involved.

If you are looking for a school with top-notch, ultra-supportive, go a million-miles out of there way to encourage students, type of staff - look at BIll Reed. This school models positive community. I wouldn't send my daughter anywhere else.

Bill Reed has great teachers who care about their students! The office staff is also super friendly!

As a student I have not been to happy with this school. Although it is called a LISA school there is no arts incoperated into our learning and the LISA program leaves much to be dieserd. The work at this school is all book work, with no hands on learning.

Bill Reed is an excellent school. I pulled my daughter out of Walt Clark because of the cliquish and mean spirited students and the non-supportive office staff. The VP is helpful, but the Principal is not. After that experience, Bill Reed was a breath of fresh air. Great kids, great teachers, great staff and a great Principal.

I am not a big fan of Bill Reed or Thompson Valley School District. I am taking my child out of this district because in my opinion it is a "poor" school district and I have not been please with the teachers and the lack of homework. My child is a straight A student but this school does not have books for the students to bring home to study with and they are not given a lot of homework. Ft. Collins schools are a lot better. Do not send your child here.

Bill Reed is by far the best school. The staff is amazing! Not only do they do their job, they also build a healthy relationship with students, they act as a best friend yet have complete authority. I attend Bill Reed and have no complaints I love the entire staff and not only have a good education but have made amazing memories due to the incredible staff in sports, in the classroom, and all the extra classes such as LISA, Photography, Robotics, etc. The staff and students that walk the halls of Bill Reed are marvelous. Once again, I recommend this school to everyone! It is amazing, I have learned so much more and have extended my knowlege so far. The teachers are very patient with students and give you their full attention.
