"Split the commute, to FE Warren and fun"

Wellington is a great option if you want to split the commute from a more vibrant college city (like Ft. Collins) and FE Warren. It's a shorter commute than living in Ft. Collins, but you're closer to more restaurants/college town by living in Wellington (versus living in Cheyenne).

Wellington has a lot of home options, lots of opportunities to buy - but also rent.

It's a particularly good options for spouses that want to work in a larger, more "in-demand" city (nothing against Cheyenne - but CO seems to have more employment options), and there are several office parks and medical outpatient centers near Wellington.
