Our family has had three children go through this school from K-8 and we still have a student attending. KQA goes above and beyond to assure students are learning and progressing in their education. The use of their data interventionist and the Americorps tutors catch students that may be falling behind or struggling with material very early and partner with their corresponding teachers to get them back on track. They are attentive, work as a team and take great care to make sure all students flourish and grow. They also identify and develop amazing plans with parent involvement to help students with learning disabilities. (One of
our boys is a prime example of this top notch work) This focus was evident when one of our kids went on to highschool and while prepared academically and socially and emotionally for this next step the attention and dedication to this students success and following his plan at the next school was a day and night difference. The educators at KQA are unbelievably professional and so good at what they do it is truly incredible! From the School Board to the Principal Mrs Linda Sprietzer, to the teachers and the cleaning crew yes you too Mr Lloyd! You are a fine tuned machine successfully navigating the catastrophes that come your way with grace dignity and most importantly you are creating a thriving community of young people that are the future! Keep up the amazing leadership, dedication and passion for what you do! Our kids are staying on the path and they are succeeding and excelling at the levels of education that follow K-8 and they continue to make us proud parents everyday! Thank you KQA we highly recommend you to all families in Milliken and surrounding communities!! We are so thankful to have this top notch school available!

As an alumni of Knowledge Quest Academy, I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction with the education I received, particularly due to the subpar quality of the teaching staff. The most troubling aspects were the English and Social Studies departments, where the teachers' lack of engagement and expertise significantly hindered my academic growth.

The English teacher, for instance, often seemed indifferent to the subject matter and to student progress. Lessons lacked creativity and depth, frequently revolving around mundane assignments that did little to enhance our understanding or appreciation of literature. Feedback on our writing was either minimal or absent, making it hard to improve our skills or gain any meaningful insights into our strengths and weaknesses.

Similarly, the Social Studies teacher struggled to make the material engaging or relevant. Classes felt like a tedious recitation of facts from outdated textbooks, with little effort to encourage critical thinking or connect historical events to contemporary issues. The teacher's disorganization and reluctance to foster class discussions made it difficult to stay interested or retain the information being taught.

This overall lack of effective teaching in key subjects left me feeling ill-prepared for the challenges of higher education. My experience at Knowledge Quest Academy was a major disappointment, and I would not recommend it to future students looking for a supportive and enriching academic environment.

KQA is an excellent school. The staff works as a team to provide an educational yet individualized experience for each child.

The principal, Mrs. Spreitzer, always has time for student interactions. Her leadership, sincerity, devotion, and experience shines.

The KQA Middle School staff has provided such a positive experience for my children. I know each day they are in a safe learning environment. This school genuinely cares for their students. Great principal who knows all students and interacts well. My son has flourished at this school. My daughter will be going to kindergarten next year and is very excited. We drive from Greeley to take our kids to KQA. Great school Great Staff!

Leadership starts at the top and flows down from there. Mrs Spreitzer sets the bar very high for herself, her staff, and her students.

KQA is based on 9 pillars, designed to mold the students into future leaders in our communities. Staff and students alike are expected to model respect, responsibility, integrity; in a nutshell, LEADERSHIP.

I recently had the pleasure and good fortune to be a judge for the Middle School Science Fair. This was my 2nd year participating. Each year I have blown away by the students' projects. My hat is off to the two middle school science teachers and the other teachers who've had a hand in this monumental undertaking that is the annual science fair. As a parent/judge, interacting with such bright, engaged students is a superbly enjoyable experience. I can only imagine the level of time, caring, instruction, effort and frustration that each student and educator has put forth and endured over the last few months. Seeing the payoff during the judging was the icing on the cake.

I read a review that said KQA is a charter school and doesn't receive the same funding that regular schools have. That is true. The school doesn't have all of the latest electronic gadgets in their classrooms. What they do have is a principal and staff unlike any I've ever seen; wholly invested in each and every child's success and well being.

As for my own kids? After attending KQA middle school my oldest has moved on to the STEM program at RHS. She's been inspired to go into medicine upon graduation. My middle one will attend RHS next year having been inspired in the Earth Sciences. My youngest will start middle school next year and stay with KQA until high school.

Thank you Mrs Spreitzer and KQA Team. It's one thing to set the bar high. It's something else entirely to watch the students continually jump over it!

I have 3 children who have gone thru this schools program, 2 have moved on to High school in which they have excelled! It was the preparation in this school that has allowed both to hit the ground running! Thank you KQA!

I adopted my granddaughter when she was 6 and she has had several issues over the years. When we moved to the area where KQA is and we seen the school I applied even before we got our house. Hailey has had an IEP for resource and extra help for years. Within just a few months of going to KQA, their testing and support shows that she no longer needs an IEP and is doing great. She likes her school and that is something she didn't do before. The teachers, staff and other students have given her a sense of belonging and that in turn has helped tremendously in her wanting to learn. She has said from day one that all the kids are nice and very helpful. She now feels she belongs there and we are all very grateful and thankful to KQA!

Amazing!!! Our family moved here a few years ago and I'm so thankful we picked this school for our children. Teachers are very helpful!!! Our youngest son was placed on a 504 plan by his old school in Thornton. Since starting here our son is doing so much better and really feels like the staff cares.

Exemplary! My family is in our 3rd year at this impressive school. We still say the pledge, have class parties and parents are not only welcome but encouraged to volunteer. From kinder to middle school, the teachers are amazing team members, who I've seen finish each other sentences!

What a great school! My kids love to go to school each day! The curriculum is solid, the teachers are fantastic and the administration is constantly striving to do more! That's a five star school to me.

I wanted to write a honest review for parents looking for a new school or coming into the area. Its is very true that KQA has some really good teachers and a good principal, however here is the rest. New parents should understand that this is a charter school, they are open to the public but they are not run or funded like a public school. KQA offers 1 resource teacher for K-8th grades, THIN, but the school is not funded for any more than 1. Charter schools are run by a board and depend on volunteerism. You will be asked to be very involved, which we found to be a good thing. You can expect MANY fundraisers, KQA has a PTO that is big on "begging" the community and parents for funds. As far as the middle school, it a great small environment, but does not offer much in extra curricular or electives. Sewing class taught by a Para. This school also reserves a week to "prep" the kids for TCAP testing, we disagree with this! I do not think this is a bad school, it has downfall like every school, I do believe it does the best it can w/ limited resources, I just feel parents should get a clear view before choosing. On the other hand the rest of the districts schools stink!

My school Knowledge Quest Academy is the best school I have ever been to. All the teachers make sure to help you and always make sure you understand. The teachers and all the staff are very welcoming. Mrs. Spritzer is the best principal anyone could ever ask for. She is always interacting with the students making everyone feel welcomed and important. I started going to KQA last year and i'm now in 7th grade. I love this school so much and i'm really going to miss it when I go to high school. All the students are very kind and welcoming. I LOVE Knowledge Quest Academy and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to learn.

I HAVE BEEN WITH KQA SENCE MY DAUGHTER WAS IN 4TH GRADE AND SHES 21 NOW. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH MANY UPS AND DOWNS GOOD AND BAD. My granddaughters attend KQA. Both need extra help with their school work. Teachers and staff work to help them with their needs. Teachers and staff are very friendly and have great expectations of the students and help them meet the expectations. The girls attended another charter school prior to our move to Milliken. I was pleased with the previous one but am even more please with KQA.

Knowledge Quest Academy is a first rate school for parents who desire their children be taught academics as well as life lessons. KQA teaches our children how to be well rounded individuals by instilling respect, kindness, compassion, as well as academics. I have never met more polite, bright and eager to soak up knowledge children in my life. What a thrill to be able to send our child to KQA!

Knowledge Quest Academy is not only an institute of Education, its a small community of people who love our school, our teachers and our kiddos. I have two students who have been apart of the KQA family. Our first child received a top notch education that sent her into highschool prepared and ready. Our second child struggles with education, but is treated like a valued member of the KQA family. The Resource department works hard to help our child not only succeed but excel, by teaching techniques that help our child to self advocate and use tool to be independent. We have no interest in looking any place else for our child's educational needs. We will continue to be a part of the KQA family for years to come.

This is my 11th year as a parent of a student at Knowledge Quest Academy. My children have been educated in not only areas of academics but character as well. They have been challenged, celebrated, encouraged and excited about school. The teachers really strive to identify and meet the needs of each individual student. The staff works well with parents. The school is a welcoming place to visit. Parental volunteers are welcomed in such a manner that it is a pure joy to be a part of this community.

knowledge quest academy is a great school. My son started going here in kendergarden and he loves it.. The teachers helped him settle in and get to know the routine of the new school. The principal helped us the minute we walked into the school to register him. Everyone is always greeting you and helpful. My son is now in first grade and does more academically then any kid I know. When talking to my son he says he never wants to leave his school.. We love the parent involvement as well as the staff at KQA

Apart from the obvious Academic Excellence, I believe great teachers make a school great! If the school principal and his/her teachers altogether are cheerful, enthusiastic, compassionate, and have a passion for teaching, it automatically translates to a great school! This is an exceptional school. The teachers and staff are great! The principal is always available to the students and their families. The atmosphere at this school is very much like a family. The school teaches character development as well as the fundamentals of learning, and so much more. This school is a school in which the school is a family. My daughter started at KQA in 2012 and she was below reading level, did not know any her site words. She is now at almost a third grade reading level, knows all her site words. These teacher take it as there personal responsibility to help our progress and learn.

We stuck out the issues that previous leadership created at the school (end of 2012 school year) and are very happy how much the school, staff and parents have pulled together. I am pleased with the extra curricular my kids get. And even more please that they are getting an after-school program in 2013-2014

KQA is one of the best schools in this community and the region. My child went into high school after attending the school and has succeeded on a level way above his peers because of his education at KQA. It has dedicated teachers, staff, board, and an excellent principal. Despite what others may say....this is a TOP NOTCH school! My other children are excelling and we would never go anywhere else.

The school was taken over by people who don't appear to value the charter movement in general. They are talking about moving away from Core Knowledge again. Great teachers are leaving as quickly as they can. They have cut pay to the point of absurdity. It is very sad to see what has gone on there. We pulled our child out of the school as did many others. Serious lack in leadership.

The best teachers of the school have moved on or are moving on. The current administration has droped the school's grade level to a D-. The school has experienced a mass excidus of students and staff. We pulled our child this year and will never go back.

Overall very impressed with the Core Knowledge curriculum and the positive encouragement towards the kids that are working hard. My only complaint is the lack of professionalism some of the staff have.

I'm proud to be a member of the staff and community at KQA. Working as a middle school teacher in a K-8 school is wonderful. Fostering a strong KQA community connection, our MS students interact with elementary students as book buddies, mentors, and classwork helpers. Our MS Student Leadership Team are role models for all our students. Our Student Council has representation from 3rd - 8th grade, and their focus on improving our school results in fun activities for all. In the MS, this is our first year to field two Lego Robotics teams competing on a national level, who are learning problem solving, engineering, teamwork, and computer programming. We have teachers who have applied for and received numerous grants to support reading in 1st grade, graphing calculators for our 7th and 8th graders, manipulative geometry tools for MS, worm composting for MS science, and engineering and inventions electives for MS. More applications for additional grants are always in the works! Our staff is dedicated to creating a learning environment that is dynamic, engaging, and challenging for each student. Our teachers care. Our students are fabulous. Our community is supportive.

We are new to KQA and so far I am not very impressed with this school. There seems to be a lot of behavior problems that go unaddressed. I've seen staff members give out warnings after warnings without any real consequences for disruptive behavior. The academics appear to be above average compared to other public schools. However, the disruptions that are allowed are a distraction for those who are trying to learn. This school needs to crack down on inappropriate and disruptive behavior. If my opinion does not change we will be looking for a new school for next year.

This school has been around since 2002. I have been teaching here since the doors opened that fall and have loved seeing this school grow! The school prides itself on small class sizes, multiple activities available for students such as music, PE, art and technology classes - not to mention sports also. Our staff is incredibly dedicated to helping students achieve to the highest standards possible.

This school goes above and beyond! The teachers are exceptional. They work together to make sure every student has the best education. The Middle School teachers do an excellent job of keeping the kids engaged and challenged. The new athletic program is a real plus! The hot lunch program is a big hit with my kids.

This is a great school. There has been a tremendous push for technology and the leadership and board have been responsive and encouraging, looking for any ways to increase student use of technology as a learning tool, not just basic computing classes. Technology is quickly becoming instrumental in research, assessment, and classroom instruction and teachers are working together as a team to overcome their own challenges as they learn to use new technologies.
