Some sections of this school rank high. Some of the leadership is excellent and worth praise. But my kids got special needs. Plan on them putting the kid into a corner at best. If you disagree with them, plan on trouble. Us special needs dads know what they pull. I've talked to a couple, they started on high notes and ended almost always wishing their kids could be sent to a different place. Once your kid has a little behavior or is difficult, they want you OUT and will do ANYTHING to push you to leave. Read between the lines.
It's mainly a couple bad actors but the end is the same. Get smart, there's an advocacy center for special needs families in Shaw's cove. Get a lawyer if you can. You will need it. Read up on the ways they can legally harass families and plan for it. Your kids neurological? You're going to be fine. There's a couple of us that have started talking and sharing stories. Most teachers do not read 504 plans or IEPs at all and cut accommodations for students. Asst principal does not believe in equal discipline for students and if you stand up for your student she will file false claims about you but ignore students being abused. The unspoken rule for staff is certain students do not get in-trouble no matter what they do and staff is so horrible that a lot of students fall through the cracks if they cannot stand up for themselves.
