This school is the perfect example how NOT to run a school. Teachers have tooo many kids in their classes and do NOT know how to manage all of them. The discipline is very inconsistent. They pick and choose based on race and background how to treat them. Minorities will not make it far. It’s very very clear that they want us to fail. They don’t stick to plans/goals that are made with struggling students. The guidance counselors are teachers and all the teachers are hall monitors. The principal is very argumentative so you never get far talking to him. The guidance counselors can’t or don’t do their jobs because they are teachers and being hall monitors. There is not a single teacher there that can handle that school or do their job sufficiently based on the terrible administration team.

This school is great for children and I recommend going to this school, though they could better the food.

This school is a insult to the education system, and yet they still keep up their delusion that they're amazing. I've hoped my parents will soon move to get away from this place.

Some are good, some are bad. Almost as no consistency as the homework they give out.

Either too much homework or too little homework. It's lazily made, or it's high school level. No in between. It puts a lot of stress on me.

There is no character in these students. They're all brainwashed ghettos! They follow everyone else's little trend, they have no compassion or respect for one another.

My stepson goes to this school. How can I rate a school high when they don't have school books? The teachers teach so much to the test that I can find their whole lesson plan online, and answers to their 'worksheets' they have instead of books. This school is a disgusting example of what the American school system is turning into. Everyone working there should be ashamed in themselves. It is a joke to call it a school.

They give 'awards' to any student with a pulse. This includes my own. He got an award for Exceptional Student. He got 3 D's and only 1 A....in gym. Not really sure how that is exceptional. Now he is proud of himself for not doing his work when he is supposed to....ridiculous.

Some teachers come up with interesting projects. Other teachers are just lazily handing out worksheets and have no feedback or help when the child doesn't understand it.

There is no reading homework. Only worksheets that are littered with typos and don't seem very engaging. Not a lot of homework to begin with. The worksheets are basically what they are going to see on the standardized test. They don't even try to hide that fact anymore.

I'm not at all impressed by Tyl middle school. It appears to be a great school, but looks can be deceiving. The overall grades don't lie. All Montville schools need an overhaul. There is a large gap in communication between parents and teachers. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, especially during the essential developmental years. Education is everything.

I have two grandchildren in the Montville Public schools. They both like going to school very much and have developed a personal relationship with many of the teachers. I feel half of the battle with kids today is that they like school and look forward to going every day. They both do. Montville schools all seem great to me and I haven't met a teacher that I didn't like. They are all great and all care about the kids. Look forward to a few more years of my grandchildren going to Montville schools. Thank you very much for the commitment of the teachers and the kids.
