Teachers are held back from making comments or concerns about how system mandates are holding children back from adequate special needs. No children are held back a grade just pushed on to grades above their level. Would rather home school.

As a parent of 2, soon to be 3, Stanton students, I have nothing but amazing things to say. Apparently they have made some significant improvements in recent years and if so, it shows. The staff is attentive, supportive, and involved. My children love going to school and have come so far in the 3 and 2 years they've been there.

Indeed some teachers and staff are wonderful and dedicated, however I believe some should take a sabbatical for new and innovating educational training. Moreover, the appearance of Stanton B. Elementary is depressing, gloomy and the building is so old it more than likely has some safety violations. Furthermore, class rooms are so overcrowded, learning materials are out dated, and their computers are so old I cannot imagine they really work. I don t want to forget to mention their nutritional program; however, I want to make it very clear that the staff works as hard as they can and makes the best with what they have to work with! The board of education should be ashamed for allowing this to continue. Stanton has failed more than once the state mandated test required for all Connecticut schools. As a result, Stanton has to hire out private agencies to tutor our children, however, only students who receive food stamps! SHAME, SHAME

They try hard. they got low rating with the federal government. as a parent this is a concern. the teachers so far, my children have had, have been good! you have to flight tooth and nail though to get help for learning disabilities help. this is a major concern for me.
