Teachers cuss at students. And yet they tell the students not to cuss? The teachers there call the kids slow like thats gonna help them get smarter. The school is dirty everyday. Theres no special classrooms, they just sit in the back. One time I gave a lady 5 dollars and she put it on my account and I had only 2 dollars. I bought something wroth one dollar. One of the teachers LETS the kids bully other kids and call them slow. Are these people qualified? Most of the teachers are amazing though and they actually give you life lessons. I cant say the same about the 7th grade teachers. If you go here I recommend going 6th and 8th grade. AVOID 7TH GRADE

Im a proud Workman parent and supporter of public education. Workman offers my 7th-grade daughter so many enrichment options, from math acceleration so she can start high school ready for advanced STEM courses to band to extracurricular sports including swimming and volleyball. I cant say enough about the fantastic teachers and staff and the facilities. Everyone has been working so hard to turn this school around and their efforts show up every day for me. She went to Workman from AK Suter and we were nervous about the transition, but weve never looked back. Workman has felt like family from day one.

As an administrator at Workman Middle School, I couldnt be more proud of the progress weve made over the past few years. Weve seen our school grade improve for three years in a row, and thats a huge testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students. Everyone herestudents, teachers, and familiesare all in this together, and it shows. Our teachers are passionate about helping each student succeed, and weve really focused on making sure all kids feel supported, both academically and personally. The energy and collaboration at Workman make it a great place for learning and growth, and were excited to keep building on this success moving forward!

Workman Middle School is an exceptional school that truly cares about my child. As a parent, I couldn't be more pleased with the experiences my child has had at this school. The adults are invested ensured that he was prepared and ready for high school. They offered several advanced options and my child left the school with 4 high school credits! The turnaround of this school has been fantastic!

I've had 3 different children go to this school over a period of 5 years. If teachers would spend less time trying to give the children a mental evaluation and teach them reading and writing as they are paid to do. Their would be alot less issues. Teachers have gotten so lazy what they call aggressive parents is simply those that fight against and won't medicate our children so you can further sit on your rear. Everything isn't ADHD it's your lazy nit pick the slightly difficult and coddle the ones that are well on their way without you stop taking credit for the smart kid you didn't do that you actually made her dumber having been in your class.

Most of the students come from bad backgrounds that do not support educatoin, the parents are aggressive, almost all the kids here have learning concerns. They spend more time fighting or playing than learning. I went to this school for one year and had to leave, it was out of control. The police officer has his own office there at the school site

Many of the students that attend this school do not have family support on education, the parents let the children run wild after school. I see it every day. I would see fights all the time, the district needs to bring in more diversity and break up the 99% poverty level. Most of the students in this school do not have parents to read to them or hold them accountable,.

My child had a wonderful experience at this school. The courses are rigorous and the teachers are caring. The administration is very responsive and professional. The school offers a variety of clubs and athletic programs in which students can participate. To my knowledge, it is the only middle school in the state where students are able to study Mandarin as a foreign language. Unfortunately, some rude and ill-mannered students attend the school and behave inappropriately. In my opinion, the parents of these students should be held accountable rather than blaming the school. Overall, I feel the school offers an excellent education in a positive and challenging environment.

I attended this school for a short while, and I was "scared away" by all the fights that break out and the overwhelming classes that they give you. The teachers there are okay, but the work was overwhelming all and all for an advanced student like myself. The principal there is very nice, but also weirdly confused... as far as the dean, she can be crude, but effective. If you go to this school, watch out for all the fights, the overwhelming challenging classes, and a lot of bullies. Thank you, an ex-student.

this is a terrible school i went half a year and it was a disaster there are fight every day the kids are unruly i was walking down the hall and randomly got punched in the face. i saw many students get jumped. jumped is when a group of people start hitting and kicking exc. 1 kid. i saw this so many times. if your child wants to go there lay down the law and tell them no they will get hurt. and see violence on a daily basis. from a student

My son has been a student of Workman for the last three years. Besides a handful of teachers, the teachings there are totally inadequate. Combine that with absolutely no leadership from the principal, you've got a mess. There is ONE police officer to manage almost 1,000 kids. The majority of teachers are pathetic. For example, one Civics teacher enjoys propping up his feet to watch basketball while the kids color. The list goes on and on. The only reason that I let my child attend is that he does not want to leave because all of his friends are there. If I'd known that after 6th grade the education would become so pathetic, I would have pulled him out immediately. I would dicourage any parent to send their child there. You can't undo what they've seen and heard and you'll never understand the justifications given for such poor teaching. A school needs strong leadership and the ability to require teachers to be held accountable. None of this is happening. The IB philosophy is a joke. Please, teach these children what they need to know- Math, Science, Language Arts etc., This "philosophy" is not only not working but is misleading to the parents.

This school is a very immersive school, with numerous challenging courses. The school itself is very easy to navigate, as most classes will center around one area of the building. Fights occasionally break out, but are easily stopped as we have police officers on patrol 24/7. The teachers are a mixed bag, you get chosen to be a part of a group of students in a team (Team A, team B or even Team C) and it's luck whether you get good teachers or bad teachers. The schedules are easy to understand, as they use Block Scheduling for every class, meaning that each class lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. The lunch period is within 2nd/6th period (depends on the day) and depending on your teacher, you will either go with A, B, C or D lunch. The one gripe I have with lunch is that the seating is sometimes imbalanced and that you get assigned a couple of tables to sit in. The excersize curriculum is okay, you get an hour and 30 minutes of P.E. every other day. This school has recently become an IB world school, and there are facilities for kids with mental disabilities and kids from other countries. Overall, I reccomend this school. This is coming first-hand from a student.
